First, this video tutorial is great! And, although I already had/have my TV and Cable Box connected exactly like this, it's fantastic to know that this is how I'll be able to access Roku and Roku Channels. However..... On their TCL Roku page for this tutorial: "How to Connect your Cable or Satellite Receiver to your TCL Roku TV", their Step 5 has a Misprint in the first sentence! And due to my OCD, I feel that I needed to let it be known, so that they can hopefully change/fix their Misprint. Here below, copied and pasted between quotation marks, is their Step 5 - first sentence... "If the receiver if powered on and cables are properly plugged your TV will recognize the connection." Do you see the Misprint? Also, do you see where some Punctuation was "possibly" left out of that above sentence? I know this probably seems ridiculous, but it drives me crazy when I see/read where Editing was Not properly executed! Companies do pay darn good money for Editing!! So really, the Edited Information should Not have any Errors... ** End of my rant, lol **
We used coax connection. The confusing part was there is an input icon showing a cable box, there is also an icon showing a pic of a coax cable labeled "Cable" yet we had to use the "Antenna" input icon?? Then we had to scan for cable (box) channels which I've never had to do before. Helpful video, just wish I would have found it 45 mins sooner...LOL
Great thank you very much but I appreciate it I'm not used to the old style but my mom bought a new Samsung TV and she doesn't have internet or nothing so thank you very much very helpful
Hi I’ve my grandfather and he want to access everything without using the roku remote control, so I configure all those steps but he still need to use the roku control to access the hdmi and stream the direct tv, how can I avoid that?
Ok, I just got the 32 inch TCL Roku. I had satellite cable working. I watched streaming TV, and now it can't go back to cable. I rescanned like you said, it took about 10 minutes. Still no satellite cable. Nice how you don't answer anyone back, thanks.
I can't wait to get my TCL Roku 32 TV on Thursday, I have Uverse 200 and it seems to be easy to hook it up, but was wondering do I have to scan the channels on Uverse?
I just bought a 40 tlc 325 and I tried to hook up the Hmdi cable new one to the cable box to hmdi arc outlet and get no signal asking for the box is on ? For life of me it would not work and so I hook up the cable line from my box to cable inlet and it works ? Why is it ?it only gets 480 p Thur cable type .. anybody please help it really frustrate me ..
@@cipherrevenant3239 Yeah I did. In my case, you had to point the roku remote at a certain angle in line with the lighted receptor on the tv for entering only the email address to connect the roku remote. Unfortunately, it took like 30 minutes just to enter 15 character email address, but it worked fine there after. I also found a post where you basically take out the batteries, press every button hard and fast, and repeat this 2-3 times. It works, kinda
Hit the * key on your remote while the Antenna option is selected in the home screen. This will bring up the option to scan for live and cable channels.
I can't get to the home screen to click on the hdmi connection. The phone number in the directions is for some tv service and they wanted 63 dollars to unlock my new tcl TV. I dont understand why I need to pay this when I have direct already.
Have just cable ,no box, how do i get says functioning channel station to change channelsJust moved to a smaller town all they have is cable no boxes.please help thank you
My old remote control that came with my T.V.Is broken. Some one gave me a Roku 2 device and a new Remote control.? How do I how do I connect it to my to my TCL 65in Smart do I need some type of code or registered my device to to set up my device😅.
I had horrendous CONcast for 35 years but now have a Roku TV I can't find ANYTHING on. I attached an antenna for local channels & it takes FOREVER to find the relevant channels among the 58 other channels. I'm thinking of subscribing to DISH satellite but don't know how it integrates with the Roku. I CERTAINLY don't want to have to use the infuriating Roku remote to get the Dish channels. I tried a chat on the Dish site who said you have to use BOTH remotes. At the rate we misplaced our CONcast remotes, this sounds like a real nightmare.
Very vague video and disappointing because most people in the comments, including myself, would like to know some trouble shooting tips to get this working. I’m using a brand new HDMI cable and both devices are on and working and the correct HDMI port is selected and I’m still getting a “No Signal (Is It On?)” response. The only advice on the roku website says replace the hdmi cable. I just feel so out of luck and options here.
We have a onn roko at my grandma's and everything is connected and it doesnt work. U guys selling way to hard stuff to set up n asked for way to much personal info n still can't get it to connect to cabal. Is this a scam n u only want ur bs used
These instructions are for a TCL, not an Onn. But mine worked for a short time and now won't recognize the coaxial cable once I switched to streaming. I can't go back, now how many times I try to rescan. I'm tempted to do a reset, but I bet it screws up again.

What they don't tell you is that you won't be able to control the cable box guide or change the channels with the Roku remote.
