    Around 3:30 You say that HDMI-1 is ARC and should be connected to audio equipment and that is not what we are doing. we are connecting to the cable box. But then you turn around and connect the ARC hdmi to the cable box. It does not make any sense.

    I think I've followed everything in this excellent tutorial. But when I hook everything up and turn everything on, I'm on the setup page -- select language, select country -- and then the channel search, which seems to progress all right to the end, only to put me right back on the original setup screen.

    I had a "cable" coax cable to a VHS and to the cable box. The cable box was connected to the tv by hdmi. I didn't want the VHS collecting dust. Got rid of it. Now I have extra coax cable. I had the coax to my cable box.. both a coax cable and the hdmi from the cable box to my older TV. Now have a new 4k uhd television. Not sure if I should hook up the coax cable and the hdmi to my new TV? I didn't even open the box to the new Samsung TV yet. Just want to know if all I need is the hdmi cable between the cable box and tv or the coax and the hdmi to the new tv?

    Question..I was with you all the way until you got to the 2nd coaxial cable.
    I am reconnecting after contractors in my house disconnected it. I do know previously I did not have a 2nd coax cable. Do I need it?

    A brilliant tutorial this is bro. I've had my tv and box connected via hdmi cable and I've also selected the right tv source therefore everything is ok.
    My problem is, how do I get the box (as soon as it is switched on) to simultaneously switch on the television without me having to switch on the tv separately? I've got a Samsung tv.
    Do I need a trigger cable or do I need to program some settings on the tv? I'm just feed up with using two remote controls.
    Thank you for your help in advance.

      Both your TV and Box must support CEC. CEC, if available + enabled within both devices, will cause your TV to power on moments after you turn on your box. Hope this helps you figure it out.

    My primary TV with primary cable box works OK, fast enough, but the TV in the other room sometime is very slow, I believe it’s because of the WiFi? Should I connect the slow TV direct or somehow improve my Wi-Fi? Please explain both. Great video. Thanks

    • @Allabouthomeelectronics
      @Allabouthomeelectronics  2 года назад

      Doug, based on the information you provided, we're not entirely certain what you are referring to.... Therefore, if you are saying perhaps that your two TVs both receive their content via only a Wifi connection? then yes, the TV further from the Wifi Router would tend to be slower because distance and speed are essentially directly correlated. And, a solution certainly could be a direct wired ethernet connection to the router OR a Wifi Mesh system. In either case, if you invest time/$ pursuing these as potential solutions without 1st being absolutely certain of the causation you'd risk losing time and $

    Hi friend thank you for this video but please help me out. The thing is my brother is cheap lol & doesn’t want to call DISH to install an HDMI cable to my father in laws TV. The thing is my father in laws TV is really fuzzy & there’s really no good clear picture on the TV because it’s using an Antenna cable meaning the cable dish has. Can I use your setup to connect the DISH Antenna to connect an HDMI Cable to connect to my father in laws TV so his TV won’t be fuzzy & he can get that clear picture? Please help.

    I have a verizon set top box having only a coax connection to the tv. I have recently replaced the tv to one that only has hdmi input and I hope to find a Coax to HDMI adaptor. At this time it will not be possible to upgrade the set top to hdmi as a result the set top actually feeds two TV's (using a coax splitter) and the cable is strong through the walls. Do you have a suggestion where I can find the appropriate adapter? thanks.

    I have a older LG HD TV, and the regular cable comes into the cable box and out to the LG TV. But it also has a HDMI Cable that comes from the TV down into the cable box. Does this sound right? I thought you had to use one or the other not both, but my TV Works fine, if i did this i would have used one or the other, but i guess it's ok to use both? What does anyone else out there think about this?

    • @Allabouthomeelectronics
      @Allabouthomeelectronics  2 года назад

      Typically.....you only need one or the other; however, HDMI would likely be the preferred cable. If you're not paying a High Definition subscription then either cable would produce a similar resolution.

    I'm replacing a dead tv that was connected to the cable box via yellow, white, and red ended cables---- not hdmi cable and not co-axial cable. The new tv also has a place to put those but I'm not able to get it to work with the cable box--- do I need to get a co-axial cable or hdmi cable or can I make this work? The new (to us) tv I'm connecting is a magnavox, probably a few years old. Thank you!

    • @Allabouthomeelectronics
      @Allabouthomeelectronics  3 года назад +1

      Maybe the best solution, obtain an updated cable box from the cable tv company and then connect to the Magnavox using HDMI
