@@liha1832 right. And you base this on what exactly? The title and the description and the fact he says "good girl"? It didn't occur to you that the uploader maybe has no clue about cockatiel genders? This cockatiel has the feathers of a male cockatiel. A female can't ever have this color pattern. Also females don't sing, apart from a few exceptions. This is 100 % a boy
@@creaturanoctis let me tell you smt. I asked my friends mother bc she works with literally every bird. She said that a cockatiel could look like this regardliss of the gender. I also have 2 tiels. 1 boy and 1 girl. They look exacly the same but one had other tail feathers. That's how to find out the gender. And yes, I do trust the title. Get better informed next time.
Way to go my friend. How people can take something so positive and joyful and turn it into something so negative. Anyways happy to see at least there's one person who saw it the way it was intended to be seen
Lol awesome tiel they are so funny. Mine is a girl though and just hisses when she doesnt get her waythats pretty much one of the few sounds she makes lol. But I love her.
I have a girl who's similar. She usually doesn't hiss, but she only tolerates me. She makes a point of hiding behind the cage when I come by, even though there's no reason for her to be scared of me.
Females do not have a yellow head, except lutinos. But, under their tail feathers they have faint stripes crossing the feathers. I used to breed cockatiels, and raised many babies. I still have 6, plus 2 lovebirds; which are difficult to tell the gender, Laying eggs is a give-a-way.
It's allready mentioned, this is a male bird not only of them talking and singing but also of the hearthshaped wings when singing. Only the males do that to impress the females. This is a very cut boy tiel :-)

FYI to all watching who are new to tiels and parrots in general. Like others have said that is a male cockatiel but if he were a she please never stroke the back of a female because it stimulates them to lay eggs. This can be a health risk.
From the wiki like triggerhippy said. "Petting the back, stomach or underwing area of the female cockatiel may inadvertently sexually stimulate her, promoting egg-laying; owners seeking to avoid egg-laying should avoid this particular form of bonding.[10]"
Well that's just plain weird, but thanks for the info. Wonder why he thinks his bird is female. Would think he knew the truth. I generally assume the prettiest birds are male just because male plumage is often much more colorful than females.
I have raised cockatiels for 20 years so point taken. Females cannot talk or whistle. I had a male cockatiel and he could whistle part of the Andy Griffith theme song. My female only chirped.

Very impressive! Both of you😀 how old is she/he? How long did it take to teach all of this? Ive had my Charlie a bit over a year, he started sayin "hey Charlie" about 3mos ago and does wolf whistle but seems to be stuck on those 2. I got him a GF about 2mos ago but they havent really bonded yet. Both are still young tho. He seems to be quite jealous of her (Pearl) and even photobombs when i try to take pics of her. 😂 i play the training videos and talk to the tiels and the 5 new budgies i have all the time.
Happy to see that someone else saw it the way I'm sure it was intended to be seen. How these guys can take something so positive and put asset the negative Twist on it is just beyond me. Thank you
Oh so sweet. This video never appeared before when I looked for videos about cockateels. My cockateel, a boy, Cleo is about 23 years old. How is your girl?
I had CockatielS and they brought me immense happiness followed BY immense grief when they left. The feeling of eventually gaining their trust was beyond anything comparable in this world. To see them eager to fly out everytime they saw an open sky was equally heartbreaking. Over the period I realized I want them to be happy more than I want them to be with me. Isn't that what true love is? I was ready to have a heart break but I wasn't convinced to keep them caged. So I started to train them for a free flight and eventually lost them one day. Here is a thing. I knew they might fly away and die, but I let that happen. In my opinion by keeping them caged and clipping their feathers, I was just trying to fulfill my selfish interest masqueraded as my love for them. To you all who are fooling themselves and others as how much you love them, stop buying them and stop caging them. Stop posting this so called cute videos. These beauties do not belong in cages. No matter how much you claim to be bird lovers, you have given them nothing but a life of agony and suffering. If you are convinced that they are happy in your cages, you never saw a happy bird.
Prashantkumar Giri his not got his feathers clipped and flys every day and also flys in the gardon he did go once when it was very windy but he was calling me th hole time .but 3 days later he was at the back door he loves the fig trees we have and the fruit haha my dogs keep an eye on him when he is out .your right birds do not belong in cages and i would only take a Bird as a rescue
so you basically killed your birds, and are shaming others for getting pet birds? you need to take a good look in the mirror. also "you have given them nothing but a life of agony and suffering" sheesh gosh, if every pet bird was suffering this bad all of them would drop dead like flies and none would breed. a bird NEEDS good condition to even CONSIDER reproducing. educate yourself instead of spewing your opinions as if they were facts.
What a sweet and clever parrot. He is absolutely so adorable. ❤ Love tiels

I agree that the cockatiel is a male: I've never come across a female who bothers to whistle. The males do it to impress their mates.
My female loves to whistle at me. With time you can train them but yes boys are naturally talented at whistling.
In addition to these visible characteristics, the vocalization of adult males is typically louder and more complex than that of females.
Male Cockatiels are gray, with the yellow face...
My female cockatiel loves to Whistle and sing. She lays eggs and has been DNA sexed so there is no doubt that she is a lady.
You pat the pretty bird like a dog.

Some can they just dont do it as frequently non-repetitive and non-intricate. :) Squawk!
Females CAN talk, but only after a LOT of coaxing, and never very well. Never like this. Also, boys are the ones that do the heart wing strutting.

Why did you quote that? That is basically exactly what I said.
Yes and? Whats the problem?
