My 'tiel needs to up his game on the whistling. We've been trying to teach him a 9-note song but he gets the first 3 them makes up the rest of the song.

If your (I assume) cockatiel is a female, she probably won't sing. There are very few female tiels that will learn how to sing. But most of them stick with some screeches and being pretty.

Same here! We called him a Jazz singer because he'd always wind up making his own music no matter what.
