    My kickstarter getting funded is one of the biggest highlights in my life, next to kissing a girl for the first time. I don’t feel like there are words that describe my appreciation for everyone who spent their hard earned money on my book. Thank you all!
    I'll be updating all of the backers after the 2 week wait for the funds is up!
    Let's quickly review the 3 biggest things I learned from hosting a successful kickstarter.
    The first thing is advertising your project! DO NOT be afraid to post DAILY about your project and its potential progress. Let people know how it’s going and be AUTHENTIC about it.
    Get creative, create short form or long form content to stir up excitement or inform people of you and your projects intentions! You don’t know people's intentions, it’s possible someone wants to back your project but they need to wait until pay-day, be there to indirectly remind them.
    The second thing I learned is the importance of a good support network. Having close family or friends that can be there DAY ONE to back your project is HUGE! Having even a couple dollars to the project's name can make a huge difference in someone's decision to get involved. If you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have anyone available to back you, be patient and persistent. Refer to advertising!
    The third thing I learned is to BE CONFIDENT in your project! You may find the occasional hate comment or dislike, DO NOT let that sway you. Do not forget about all the hard work you’ve put in and keep your head up high. You could have the worst idea in the WORLD, but your confidence in its success could be the convincing factor that gets someone to throw you some bucks!
    Hopefully this video gives you some valuable information that will help you and your own kickstarter projects succeed!
    Special thanks to Matt (@granite_allen), My mom and my Grandparents for making LARGE additional contributions to their backings!
    Thanks for exposing your eyes to all this blue light and allowing me to occupy a brief moment of your life, subscribe if you wanna keep up with all of mine, Canboy and Kirks adventures :)
    Music in this video is by the all great and powerful Kevin Mcleod and C418!

    Hello.. Would you advice Kickstarter if you don’t even have a following or audience yet? Thank you..

    • @LockMakesStuff
      @LockMakesStuff  5 месяцев назад +1

      I absolutely think you should crate a Kickstarter project even if you don’t have an established audience. I’ve been making canboy and kirk content for 7 years and I have a freakin tiny dedicated audience. It’s hard to build an audience, but Kickstarter is on your side in a way. It’s got a decent reach, your project will get shown to people who browse the site and trust me there are a lot of hardcore Kickstarter backers out there who’ve backed hundreds or thousands of small projects. Make sure you spend a lot of time on making your project look and sound appealing, offer good reward tiers and NEVER STOP SHARING IT!! Share it to the audience you may know you have like your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles or close friends. All it takes is one person to contribute to convince strangers to start contributing too :)
