Seeing the Trails in the Sky remake almost brought me to tears, that trilogy means so much to me and it looks so good 😭😭 (also funny how they used an endgame art that was way over the 50 ep cost small detail I noticed)
Suikoden 1 and 2 literally got me so excited for 2025. Man this is already going to be hype, if only we could get a Chrono Trigger HD2D

Daybreak is the best combat system they've put together so far, imo. Very excited to play Trails in the Sky with that battle system.
Estelle looks great. I felt it looked dated when it released on PSP. I started with Cold Steel. Maybe next year, after my MonHun obsession, I'll do the rest of Cold Steel and Daybreak first.

Looking closer at the video, it's thankfully still turn based in Trails. After she bonks the enemy with the staff the turn order pops up in the upper left, so I think it has free movement instead of the snapped grid style which is cool.

Trails remake looks bonkers! I had the impression that Falcom was just porting it to modern platforms and touching it up in the process but boy was I wrong. I'm hyped to relive the Liberl arc now.
I wasn't even on the video tab when it came out-I just heard someone say 'Trails in the Sky...' and BAM! When I started watching, it was FC's remake. I couldn't hold back the screams and chills. What amazing news! This is the best happening in the year for me.😭❤

To be honest i gave up on the Suikoden remaster after browsing through the radio-silence-threads and all those lenghty "we got news but are just telling you again what others already did" videos a few days ago... and now.. that made me cry. I can finally meet those lovely 108 stars of destiny again

Konamis kinda redeeming themselves big time.. Been busy with their new Castlevania rerelease of the DS titles which just dropped literally the other day.. They also are putting out MGS and SH remakes.. Different genre but still undeniably impressive
I woke up expecting this double serving of directs would be a nothingburger, and was blown away by the amount of JPRG servings we got; Trails Sky Remake new maturer Atelier and new Rune Factory got me excited
I wasn't expecting so much for this direct, but they knew that they need to still deliver on the JRPGs! They really brushed past the full remake of Trails in the Sky. I never expected Tales of Graces F!!!!! I've been putting off playing through Suikoden II for when the HD-2D comes out, so it's good to finally have a new date for it~
Glad to see Rune Factory:Guardians of Azuma information. Was not expecting Trails in the Sky remake or Tales of Grace's f remaster. Can't wait for them all!
I am currently going through the Trails in the Sky trilogy and they have quickly become some of my favorite games of all time. An updated remake is going to be legendary! Also Suikoden 1 and 2 HD FINALLY getting a release date hell yes! My other favorite jrpg series. What a beautiful Nintendo direct!
This Direct was absolutely nuts! And the coolest part is, with the exception of Rune Factory, almost all the other games shown are confirmed to be coming to all platforms! Yes, Yumia is actually going to be the first Atelier game on Xbox!
And I still can't believe we're getting a Sky remake! There was just so much here it didn't seem real!
I am absolutely stoked for a Sky remake!!! I just hope they respect the legacy of the combat orbment system and how they are supposed to be shown as progressing over each arc as a story telling device.
i think its still turn based, based off the timeline on the left. i think the controls are just more layed out so Y is Attack, X is Craft, A is Arts, B is Defend
I'd guess they're going to base it off the daybreak system. Though it looks like the "action" part was just initiating the actual battle in the usual way. Looks like there won't be a battle transition.

Legit the way they just CASUALLY dropped a Trails in the Sky remake during that Direct. They did with zero fanfare BUT my jaw dropped.
I still haven't played a single Trails game because I am so INTIMIDATED by the fact that it's such a long running series. I'll will definitely hop into this game when it releases.
It is likely not fully action combat. It's likely very similar to the latest trails series.
I haven’t played any trails games and have been waiting for Sky to play first. I’m really excited for this!
I cannot wait for Suikoden 1 and 2!!!! My copy of 2 doesnt allow me to finish it. for what 25 years + I have avoided the entire ending of Suikoden 2. The disc I have freezes up after the last overworld battle. When a particular person is talking. I cannot open the lid. I cannot start/select. I cannot try to mash through it. I cannot change to a different disc. I cannot soft reset it. I am EXCITED to finally see the ending of Suikoden 2. WIll enjoy replaying BOTH games in March.

I can't believe a Sky trilogy remake is coming. I was at anime expo two months ago when the entire trails fandom showed up and showered Kondo with love for two days. A Sky trilogy remake is high on everyone's wish list. I completed all three sky games and got every single steam achievement and can't wait to do it all over again with the remake.
What did I love most? Well, I have to say Trails in the Sky FC Remake literally made me cry - but I'm a new convert to Kiseki (finally, finally started it last year and have been working my way through it; loving every moment). Kiseki & Like a Dragon are my new favorite franchises. Suikoden was a classic from my teen years. Atelier is a cozy favorite (and the newest mobile game was a disaster). I love almost every Tales of game I've gotten to play. I dunno. Kiseki wins the day, but wow. This is a lot.
I am SO hyped about the DQIII character appearances being customizable! This is huge!!! I've been wanting this for years.
This might have been one of my fav directs of all time. So many great remakes/remasters of my favorite games and a new Rune Factory, wow.

I AM SO EXCITED! I am trying HARD not to type in all caps, OMG Trails in the Sky REMAKE looks AMAZING!!! I was saying that they’d do a remaster (remake, close enough) as soon as I beat the Sky trilogy… I am SO happy! I no joke started tearing up. So many other good announcements, too. This probably means we’ll get Sky AND Crossbell remade!! 😅🎉 I can’t wait!! haha okay I’m done.. I’m just SO stoked!

I think the combat in the Trails remake is going to be a real time/turn-based hybrid like Daybreak, as you said. Maybe you'll have more tools in real time than just light and heavy attack this time around.
Daybreak 2 added Quick Arts, so we can expect that as well. I'm hoping that Kai (and this Sky remake) also includes long-press attacks to spice up the real-time combat, because I still feel it's a bit too bare bones even with Quick Arts.
I'm actually going to cry! While Tales of Xillia is MY favorite Tales game
Tales of Graces was the game I played with my two younger siblings. We had SUCH a great time playing through that game over a decade ago now. It was the game that made my little brother be able to appreciate jRPGs are bit more. And me and my little sister have playthrough a couple of Tales games at this point.
Absolutely incredible news. 2025, like 2024, is shapping up to be a banger for JRPGs. Let the hype begin!

With Daybreak 3 (JP) coming next month, Daybreak 2 (US) coming early next year and now this! We trails fans are eating good! Thank you Falcom!
Rune Factory really needs to give you the ability to customize your MC and give you a big plot of land where you can customize and build stuff on.
Even i didn’t see this coming.. I never expected they’d do Sky with the TOCS engine and put it out so fast! It’s like that coupled with these others like Suikoden.. I mean what more can we possibly ask for
It's great seeing that Suikoden will finally be able to make a return after what seems like forever stuck to older consoles. Such a great series. Sorry, just had to get that out of my system. Graces F is my 2nd most favorite Tales game of all time, just behind classic Symphonia (put literal hundreds of hours in the old Gamecube version, doing co-op with a young cousin as we played through the game). I still have my PS3 copy of Graces F, & I really can't wait to pick up the remaster when it comes out.

I’m roughly three and a half games into the Trails series (beat Cold Steel 1, most of Cold Steel 2 and Zero and am currently halfway through Azure). I also have CS3 & CS4 in the backlog and I’ll be getting Reverie & Daybreak in the next while. So I for sure will be picking up Sky 1 remake. I am super jazzed about that. Also, Tales of Graces f was my first Tales game, so yeah that’s a day one as well. I’ll also be getting Dragon Quest 3 2D-HD and potentially the Suikoden remasters. But also I’m all in on Powerwash Simulator so that Shrek DLC I’ll be playing. And Civilization 7 is also a must have.

I'm looking forward to seeing why the Suikoden games are so popular, also personally what has put myself off getting into the Atelier series is that it's a bit too cozy for me, I like a bit more oomph to a JRPG, so I do hope this upcoming game is more gritty.

I'm glad the Suikoden HD remaster makes it look more like something I'd play than the original, and March 5 is really soon.
So ridiculously excited for the Trails in the Sky remake. Quite disappointed it was like ten seconds in a sizzle reel and not a full on announcement like it deserved.
Looking forward to the Atelier game as I've enjoyed the Ryza games. Highlight of the trailer though was hearing the voice of Kazuma Kiryu pop up (As the dragon?)
Just relieved at this point for Suikoden 1+2 HD. Kinda thought Konami had secretly binned it off development as we were almost at the year anniversary of the previous delay with no news since.

Lots of great games announced im only a bit disappointed with xillia not being remastered, its actually my top 3 tales games of all time, I have played about 90% of the tales games series, I think graces F is good, but I personally think xillia is better. I'm very excited for visions of mana later this week, and apparently I can play witch spring R Wednesday evening so that is pretty awesome:)
Trails in the sky and Castlevania collection were the only two things that really got me excited at all. I'll be picking up a physical of both (even if LRG is involved).
Sky first chapter remake, Dragon Quest III hd remaster, New Atelier, Remake of Tales of Graces, New DLC for Sea of Stars... and Visions of Mana in two days.
I just need a sequel for Okami and a complete remake of Xenogears (including planned content that was cut for time constraints) to be able to enter gaming Nirvana.

Atelier Yumia and Suikoden collection were some of my big highlights of the showcase. Been playing through Ryza 1 and enjoyed that so im glad to see a new game in the series that's not on mobile and never played Suikoden before so im definitely picking up the collection. Also picking up dragon quest 3 hd-2d

For starters, I'm thrilled about the remake. I've been waiting actual years for this.
My issue with this is that it's apparently only on Switch so far. This is complete bull. They bring over all previous Trails games to PlayStation, excluding the Sky trilogy, and when a remake's finally announced... JK, no PlayStation release in sight. All I want is the ability to have all the Trails games in one place. I don't want to have to buy into multiple platforms in order to just play three games because some suits decided to gatekeep it. Timed or not, it's kinda despicable to bring everything except the Sky trilogy over and just expect us to be okay with it.
Sorry for rant, really, it's just that I really have been waiting ages for this.

I was very hesitant for a remake when they were talking about a few months ago, much preferring a re-master. But I gotta admit this trailer has me cautiously optimistic.

Yessss, Suikoden remakes! I’ve been lowkey wanting to replay suikoden 1 recently so this is definitely an awesome breakthrough. I’ve also never played Suikoden 2, so I’m so excited for that!

Yes David. It’s here. To be honest, I purchased on steam 12 and three sky series and I’ve put it off for about five years since I purchased them now I got the old ones and the new ones so I think I do have some time to get there been keeping me busy in the last four years.
RPG fans are really eating good, David delivering the news couldn’t ask for anything better. This really helps me keep a look out on what I need to get in my rpg games.
I was definitely hoping for Trails to be remastered instead of remade. Perhaps in a collection but that's probably a lot to ask. Just thinking of how big those games are, that's probably just way too much for me to have hoped for.
That said, Trails 1 remake looks incredible. Hopefully it's not too long before it gets released outside Japan.
Thank goodness Suikoden it's finally coming out and actually has a pre-order of all things. I was expecting it to be digital only and then maybe have a limited release physically! Really hope this leads to the rest of the entire series including the ones that never got a translation in the first place, namely the PSP game and the two SuikoGaidens!
Castlevania caught me out of nowhere since there was no leaks or anything about that I'm aware of, so that's crazy! Those games are great and it'll be interesting to try out the remake of Haunted Castle.
Even if i love Trails in the Sky with all my soul i feel this was a lost chance to remake the Gagharv trilogy, just to imagine Tear of Vermillion in the fashion of this remake, i would drool!

I'm 20 minutes into my first playthrough of Trails in the Sky. Now I don't know what to do, play or wait. Most likely play now as I have no idea if SC is included this time or we will have to wait even longer. It sure is tempting to wait now.

i have mixed feelings about the Trails in the Sky Remake. on one hand i really love the Liberl Arc (cant wait for the remastered version of Oliviert!). on the other hand would i like some sort of revelation or conclustion regarding Oroborus and the Grandmaster in the main trails story line. It feels like we get pushed back years now that at least the sky trilogy gets a remaster (Crosbell Arc propably next?).
I kind of knew that a Sky remake was coming after I finally caved and bought the original on sale.
I have the orginal Trails in the Sky but never played it, might have to give this remake a go!

If it had been a couple of years ago I would have been beside myself for that Trails 1 remake, but as it happens I recently replayed it on Vita, so I have to admit I’m not as hyped as I would’ve been. Will still pick it up if only to signal that we need more of the pre-Cold Steel games brought back.
Original suikoden is my favourite game of all time so that got me most hyped but graces will be great to play again, really hope xillia gets the same treatment next year and the dream for me is abyss coming to modern consoles
