That would be great but at least is an easy one to emulate if you want to play it, Xillia is now the only one you still need a really good pc if you want too, or a ps3 D:
@gumi2521 hearing the term "groovy chat" takes me back to the pre release Wii days. I haven't heard that term since then The good old "Tales of Ten" times.

Really hoping to see Tales of Rebirth and Tales of Destiny Director's Cut finally come to the west, as I've wanted to play them for so long. Happy that Graces F is getting remastered though, as that's my favorite game in the series.
Tales of Destiny Director's Cut has a english translation and lifebottle translation has a video that seems to point at a rebirth translation coming out within a year
@@chimeracage10 If Bandai ends up never officially bringing them over to the west then I'll definitely consider those options. I'm hoping that this Remastered project means that they will officially bring them over though.
Two Daniel a day, that makes it a good day ! Seriously though, I never had the opportunity to play this one, with me only ever owning Nintendo consoles. So glad to finally being able to discover it
The story isn't even bad. I literally just replayed it, and it's a political affair for most of the story with "friendship" (bad, I guess?) playing a minimal role except in the main character's motivation to be involved. Tonnes of story beats are interestingly foreshadowed by both NPCs and skits (For example, Cedric's disdain for Lhant is foreshadowed in the -child arc-), and the dialogue is well written (though not masterful). It touches on important aspects of politics like the disconnect between people and rulers, and the dangerous nature of tribalism (Fendel is thought of as cartoonishly evil for half the game, but when you go there you realize they're on the brink of disaster with seemingly no aid offered by the other nations). I can't help but think of its poor reputation as another case of "popular opinion" on the internet snowballing itself to a ridiculous degree.
Grace f is always going to have the special place in my heart even though Vesperia is probably my favorite. Grace f was the very first Tales game I played when I had a PS3. During that time there was a severe drought of good jrpg games so I remember watching various RUclips videos on something to get, I watched footage on this game but didn't even know what a Tales game was. When playing it I was blown away with the quality, and actually fell into a depression after I finished the game because I couldn't find anything else as good. I basically started looking up Tales games that I haven't played and started playing them all one by one. My top 3 are Vesperia, Grace f and Xillia 1. Xillia 1 went over budget and is lacking most of the extra content the series is known for but I still like it more than Xillia 2. Graces f is packed with an insane amount of content and each character has 4 Mystic Arts plus a 10-hour expansion.
Graces F has sooo many sidequests, just the title system alone is a lot to complete, it's one of my favorite in the series. If nothing else, I want that Haseo costume!
"Defintive Edition" was a port of the PS3 version that never released out of Japan, which had new content not in original 360 version. It's very noticeable when Yuri's voice changes in same cutscene from Troy Baker to their replacement George Grant when any PS3 version lines come up.
23:20 I always call this one "Tales of Boyfriends: Friendship is Magic" despite me poking fun at it Graces is my second favorite after Abyss. I am ecstatic. Now all we need is remasters of Abyss, Innocence, Hearts, Legendia, the Xillia titles and a new Team Ninja Warriors/Musou game.
I am so happy right now!! Tales of Graces f was my very first Tales of game I have ever played, i haven't played it in years. I had no idea it was being remastered!! Woo lets go!! ❤🎉
One of my favorite takes games. There's sooooo much to character progression. The titles actually do something and aren't just useless names. Story is...a tales story. Friendship, evil squinty eye villain, close friend is bad guy, underage weird innuendo. Same ole usual BS. But the core game is just soooo good.
@@Turtleknight467 This is what people always say and I need to give Graces another chance because I played it back in 2013 and remember *hating* that countdown system that determined how many moves you could make. When Xillia came out and the MP meter was back, I was so happy. 😅
@@Nel_Annette Idk I feel like I'm in the minority when I say I prefer Graces' CC system over the TP/MP system, cause when you run out of TP you have to keep buying and using TP restoring items or else you literally can't use any artes.
This remaster NEEDS all of the exclusive costumes. They're just too good to miss out on, and I barely even scratched the surface of them when I beat the post-post game content
Graces f hasn't aged gracefully in terms of character models, but it's to be expected given it was originally a Wii game. Despite all that, the combat system in this and Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut are still my favorite throughout the entire series. The CC system really gives you so much freedom to chain moves together that you'd typically be wary of spending too much TP on in other entries.
Tales of Graced f is one of my favourite games. I was losing hope that it would be stuck on ps3 forever. I am so happy! full 4k 60FPS is gonna make this game absolutely stunning
I'll be double dipping on this! Picking it up on Switch and Steam! I already own the PS3 and Wii versions. I love this one so much. The story is safe but so charming and I love how it just embraces power of friendship and doesn't stop. Battle system is spectacular! I'm hoping maybe we get bonus costumes for having save data from other titles. They've done it before and given costumes from later games and that's always neat to see. Kratos got a Ludger costume from Xillia 2. I'd say they do Xillia 1 and 2 as a duology pack as that makes sense instead of just announcing 1 and then keeping the next one a mystery only for it to be 2. I'd love an Abyss remake that'd be incredible. I'm hoping they use this opportunity with remasters to give us some non localised Tales like Destiny Directors Cut, Rebirth, Innocence R or Phantasia X. Thanks for telling us this Tale Daniel! 💙
When they cracked down on emulation - and included these games - I wondered if we were set up for remasters/ports. I'm stoked. I need Destiny back and I would LOVE an English language Destiny 2 release. Xillia 1 and 2 would be awesome, I mean they're among my favorite, I adore all the PS3 tales games, but I kinda want them to tackle the older games first!
I played the japanese PS3 demo of this game before it was announced for a NA release back in the day, and the combat was what really sold me on it and brought me back to the Tales of series after falling off with Legendia. Really hoping Xillia 2 gets the remaster treatment as well, as that's my favorite in the series
I'm really hoping they remaster Tales of Hearts R as well. That is such a good game that flew under a lot of people's radar because it was on Nintendo DS Japan only first, and remade for VITA both in and outside of Japan, & barely anyone noticed it. Also Tales of Eternia for my personal favorite.
"Smart Delivery" is just Xbox's equivalent term with PlayStation's "Cross Buy", but it also extends to physical copy (register once). Since this version of Graces is also launching on Xbox One, if you buy it on X1 now and upgrade to a Series X later, Graces is immediately available for download on your Series X.
Smart Delivery for Xbox basically means you get the last gen and current gen versions for one purchase. Most games are like this, but there are a few that are sold separately or have a paid upgrade.
underrated xbox feature, also another underrated feature too which means double the achievements for Microsoft reward points to use on more xbox gift cards to get more xbox games 🎉
Not holding out hope for things like Japan only Tales of Destiny 2 and Tales of Rebirth but I certainly wasn’t expecting Graces. Really happy it is, it’s the game that introduced me to the series.
Definitely getting it on Steam for Steam Deck support. I’m pretty sure that will be 60fps. Problem with doing a second playthrough with exp multipliers are how normal battles last for less than 5 seconds. 😝
It kinda makes sense that Graces f is first. Back on the PS3 ToGf was the return of Tales to the west after missing everything post Vesperia on 360 (Graces on Wii, Vesperia on PS3, Xillia, Xillia 2). Glad to see it is 4k60fps on PS5, but since it is 120fps on PC now I'm in doubt where to get it... Maybe PS5 physical, and one day in the future when it's like 75% off get it on PC.
It is more than Welcome for a remaster of Tales of Graces! I am a huge Tales of Fan it's the primary JRPG series that I play. Hopefully we get a remaster of Tales of Abyss!
I got into JRPGs very late so I'm happy that JRPGs I missed out on are now becoming readily available. I absolutely loved the remake of Star Ocean The Second Story and I'm looking forward to the remasters of both Tales of Graces and Suikoden 1/2. Time to see if these games can live up to all the praise I've seen people give them lol.
Just another tease for .hack fans. Fun fact you could hack in the Japanese costumes. The only thing that does not work was the custom voice lines after battle.
Still own my PS3 with all the Tales of games released on it. It's been 10 years since I last touched it, but the memories wow. You unlocked some stuff in the games if you had another one of the series. Lovely! That being said. The improvements are not that big, so rebuying it is not going to happen. But I'd love to see some older games remastered like Eternia and Phantasia. Would be awesome in HD on a big screen.
So we’re getting a second remaster I know technically the first re-release wasn’t called a remaster because we didn’t call them remastered back then. The crucial thing will be how much are they going to charge for this remaster?
Tales of hearts r as well as innocence r would be a great get. Innocence still has never come to the states, I’d honestly be fine if they just gave it a translation and dropped it on a DS NSO APP
abyss, symphonia, and graces are my 3 favorite so this is welcomed. I dont mind the safe story of graces, i like adventure storys with decent romance mixed in.
It’s not the remaster I was hoping for (still hoping for Abyss and Xillia) but as someone who’s become a big Tales fan over the past few years I’m still willing to give this one a play.
7:31 that's been confirmed Any that might have a expired license So any non Tales outfits of IP they kind of work with, they might not have the licence
Yeah. So no Code Geass stuff which was Japanese Exclusive anyways and The BoA Kwon Cheria Costume was stuck as an event for the Wii Release with concert tickets having the code.
I am so excited for this game. Xillia was my first game but this was my second and I fell in love with every aspect. The combat was good, the characters and skits were fun. Loved the music. I remember it was rumored that xillia was supposed to be remastered first and I was super bummed out thinking that this game would probably never be considered. It was certainly a pleasant surprise to see it in the nintendo direct! I felt like I had a similar reaction as yours lol.
I just hope it has a physical release. That's all I need. Personally don't care that the switch version is 30fps. It really won't affect the game much. I'm just wanting a physical
I know the Symphonia remaster wasn't as good as it could have been at least initially but it has been patched since then. The game that I really want to see remastered is Dawn of the New World. I want justice for Emil, Marta and Tenebrae!
DotNW is, believe it or not, my favorite of all the “Tales of” games. Being able to befriend monsters on the field and just making them extremely overpowered felt like I was able to really control the pace of the game. The side quests were repeated a bit too much and not having overworld travel was disappointing, but the game overall had a nice charm to it that I wish I could go back to today. My Wii copy unfortunately disappeared some years ago and I haven’t been able to find it. I could see about going on eBay and buying a used copy as I do still have a working Wii, but that will be later on down the road.
New voiced lines in Tales of Series remasters isn't a new thing. Vesperia HD had new lines. I hope they learned from the Troy Baker situation in the Vesperia HD, and actually tried to get back all of the original dub cast for the new Skits.
Having the GRADE shop already at the start of the game is only useful to those people who wish to skip the Childhood Arc and start the Adult Arc from the beginning but saying that for those people who indeed skip it will miss out on very vital key information to the story. You will also miss the skits and most importantly you won't earn the Achievements/Trophies that is tied to the Childhood Arc. I recommend for new Graces F players in January 2025 to avoid using the GRADE shop and play through the game in it's most vanilla state with the Childhood Arc included. Like it was when we all played the game on the PS3 for the first time. Also I am so elated that Graces F is now free from the PS3'a shackles and I will be buying the game on the XBOX and on Steam when it comes out and right now I am having the best time of my life replaying the game on the PS3 I can only imagine what new players of Graces F will think of when they play Graces F for the very first time.
1- So tales has a new chance to make things right and grow their name and position in the west... 2- Tales of the Abyss is the game i would like to get. After the definitive edition of Vesperia, Abyss is the only one of the 3D games that is not acessible. 3- Xilia remakes make sense . The original could be improved and finished after they had to rush to meet the deadline. 4- Collections of 2 games would be great.
I am somewhat hoping that they also use this opportunity to finally release a definitive version of Phantasia, if they were to make this happen I know it would either contain everything and Phantasia NDX since it is a direct sequel of that game and did contain a version of Phantasia that basically overhauled the game adding one new playable character as well as tying Phantasia with NDX. My other big want is a Legendia remake, granted it probably has less chances of getting one but I the idea of seeing this game get a second chance at success makes me happy (so long as there's a cmaeo playable Mimi baker )
This is cool. I'm still holding out for a Tales of the Abyss remaster, or even a remake of Fantasia or Destiny.. but this is still a nice surprise. I remember borrowing the PS3 version from my brother, years ago, but never actually played it, and just ended up returning it to him. I still have my PS3 around, but it'll be nice to grab this on other platforms.
I was so happy seeing this in the direct and silently talking in my mind "Yes, the better Tales of!!!" (as I am not the biggest fan of the xillia games) - most and foremost for the excellent battle system of Graces. Also I am finally able to finish the Future Part as I only played a few hours into it after finishing Graces on PS3 pretty late in it's cycle. Also always a treat to see you talking about any Tales of Game, so thank you Daniel and have a lovely day and keep your voice in check.
I was literally 80% replaying the ps3 version to get the platinum trophy lol. As much as I love Graces, I'll probably wait to replay. I do with they would have added a feature where you hold another button to use more arts. The battle system is so good, but I wish I could have used more than 4 B arts. Tales of Arise did this well, mixing in more ways to equip arts.
Hopefully there's a good collector's edition. I started, like many, with Tales of Symphonia. But this was a ton of fun and I can't remember if this is the first one I beat or if Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS released first. I can't remember. But this is super hype.
I fell in love with the tales series in 2022, a year after finishing Vesperia I decided to play arise and...didn't enjoy its story in the slightest, but then I played Xillia and Abyss! Super excited to see what this game is about!
Doubt they’ll dub the extra skits, and who knows how they’ll even sound seeing how Namco is usually cheap on this considering Vesperia. Although every VA is still active but Cheria’s has become a higher profile VA and I don’t think aside from SE Nier she’s done anymore RPG’s.
ToG has the best combat and Titales system of all Tales of games, but the story is lacking especially towards the second half. I wish we got a complete remake of Tales of Symphonia using Graces' combat and Titles systems.
I trust your judgement on this game. Broke my heart when you said Symphonia re-release or whatever it was, was trash but the truth is truth. I never had my own file but I played with my sister and it seemed fun.
Tales of Graces F was a good one. but man if you took a shot for every time you heard the word "protect" you would be dead of alcohol poisoning within the first 3 hours
Grade shop at the start is gonna be odd... but I rarely replay games, so maybe that is for the best. I hope Tales of the Abyss gets remastered next. I own it, but never got around to beating it.
They still need to remaster/re-release the best one: TALES OF THE ABYSS, baby.

I just hope it has a physical release. That's all I need. Personally don't care that the switch version is 30fps. It really won't affect the game much. I'm just wanting a physical
Check their website, they have a physical releass.
The Switch frame rate is probably 30 on the field and 60 in battle like on Wii and PS3
Or maybe more like Vesperia definitive edition which is an unstable 60 on the field and 60 stable in battle
Bamco has confirmed only 30fps on Switch. 60 everywhere else except i think only PC gets 120 support
@Nate0808 that makes ZERO sense.
They usually do everything they can to get the battles running at 60 at least.
I'll wait for footage
@@symphomaniac it says it on the official website...
Nope. Swtich is 30 fps only.
I want them to remastered Tales of Destiny 2 , as well.
Abyss is my #2 after Symphonia and I would take a remaster of that over most modern games.
I know the Symphonia remaster wasn't as good as it could have been at least initially but it has been patched since then. The game that I really want to see remastered is Dawn of the New World. I want justice for Emil, Marta and Tenebrae!
It has been improved but it's still far from the original release quality
Did you know the Japanese PS3 version of the game has a reversible cover so you can switch between the Japanese cover and the International cover.
Destiny and Rebirth please dear god. The only ones I havent played that I wanted to decades ago.
Great video! What would you recommend as someone’s first Tales game?
This is cool. I'm still holding out for a Tales of the Abyss remaster, or even a remake of Fantasia or Destiny.. but this is still a nice surprise.
I remember borrowing the PS3 version from my brother, years ago, but never actually played it, and just ended up returning it to him. I still have my PS3 around, but it'll be nice to grab this on other platforms.
personally I think they could announce the next portion of this project most likely at tokyo game show.
Omg I got Xillia 2 artwork made by the same people who made the abyss artwork!!
The children’s clothing dlc was stat boosting equipment for the child phase of the game not cosmetic
All I ask for now is a port of Tales of the Abyss (and a fixed version of Symphonia) and I will be completed.
You’ll def love this one…it’s my personal favorite in terms of combat…did you ever play berseria?
Best girl Pascal is back! Love her playstyle.
I love grace battle system I can’t wait to play
Doubt they’ll dub the extra skits, and who knows how they’ll even sound seeing how Namco is usually cheap on this considering Vesperia. Although every VA is still active but Cheria’s has become a higher profile VA and I don’t think aside from SE Nier she’s done anymore RPG’s.
🤞 modders get those dlc costume that we cant get anymore
Yeah I'm gonna get PC version because of the mods, hopefully someone can bring those costumes back
ToG has the best combat and Titales system of all Tales of games, but the story is lacking especially towards the second half.
I wish we got a complete remake of Tales of Symphonia using Graces' combat and Titles systems.
Who is Shelia? Why is she named in place of Cheria in the costumes list?
Not the best tales story but the best tales gameplay
I trust your judgement on this game. Broke my heart when you said Symphonia re-release or whatever it was, was trash but the truth is truth. I never had my own file but I played with my sister and it seemed fun.
I am glad that I play on pc cause I am sure the other will mod the other missing customes on the remaster
Tales of abyss is 100% the next in line to get remastered next year it’s the 20th anniversary would be A good fit to remastered on the switch 2
Really hope the next remasters we get are xillia 1 and 2
Give me Abyss remastered or give me death!
Groovy chat are skits.
R.I.P the old font
ty
It's o k i'm still getting it for switch😊
Tales of Graces F was a good one. but man if you took a shot for every time you heard the word "protect" you would be dead of alcohol poisoning within the first 3 hours
Grade shop at the start is gonna be odd... but I rarely replay games, so maybe that is for the best.
I hope Tales of the Abyss gets remastered next. I own it, but never got around to beating it.
Hoping for some remasters of games that were never localised or, as is the case for many PAL territories, never release the tool to this day.
I hope we get haseo's costume atleast. Only costume I REALLY want
