    This is one of my favorites in your 1936 Chevy Truck fender repair trilogy. I think the ambience created by the Saskatchewan wind noise was appropriate and complemented the fender repair music. Well done!

    I don't think most people understand just how much high build primer and skim coat are under a "show quality" paint job. Your metal shaping skills are above reproach!

    • @CarterAutoRestyling
      @CarterAutoRestyling  2 года назад

      Yeah it's something you can explain until you're blue in the face, but people just can't comprehend what goes into a show quality paint job (it doesn't help that most people can't spot the difference between a high end paintjob and a cheap Macco respray)

    The howling wind in the background provided a stark contrast to your upbeat "happy go lucky" demeanour 😀 Great content, as always. Regarding Patreon - people know that creating quality content takes time and effort - so you shouldn't feel bad/weird about giving the people who want to support you the opportunity to do so. Just my two cents.

    You do amazing work. I love watching your show. I used to do this stuff when I was younger 66 years old now no energy anymore. Every since my wife passed away two years ago, it’s funny the similarities that coat you wear. I had one actually quite a few of those Look just like that I would catch him on fire welding. Bondo stuck on tape burn part paint paint liner all kinds of stuff and it used to drive my wife crazy why don’t you throw that old torn up coat away I said why is still good? She said it looks ridiculous Used to really bother her. I thought it was crazy to buy a new coat just to tear it up. I just keep using your torn up one because you can’t hurt it. If it catches on fire again put some more duct tape on it and eventually, I had to buy a new one, but I would keep them as long as I could, some of them probably as nice as the one you have on right now anyhow you do amazing work love watching your show. Every since my wife had seems like I have no energy to do anything just waiting.

I've done some fiberglass and bondo mods on my daily driver (previously a scrap metal bin before I acquired it). They make snide remarks about my guinea pig but who are they to talk ? I cant imagine the amount of hours to metal finsih an entire fender let alone any other full panel. You the man! I think you do amazing work and if we have to see a few commercials for shit I'll never buy that's OK if it helps you out in any way, just so they know it's all those products you never hear about are the ones that I buy, if we have to hear their push for more sales it must be garbage because quality sells itself, love your work Carter, and I enjoy the dry humor, I can't wait to see more progress on this 36, it's definitely a treasure and no doubt worth it's weight in gold

      Thanks for the kind words! I hate having commercials on my show, but they started putting ads in my videos back in November long before I was monetized. I figure at least now I will get a few pennies out of it. They want to put ad breaks in every couple minutes which I think is insane so I delete over half the ads before I release the videos.

      @@CarterAutoRestyling that is so cool, I had no idea you could do that 😄, I've just come to the conclusion that if they have to interrupt private media with their bullshit ads, I just don't need whatever they're selling, keep up the great work and I'll be happy to watch

    After all the work you've done on that fender, you should just polish it up and clear it.
    That's the thing with paint and body, people can only see what wasn't done.
    Metal, that old and good, is rare. Be a shame to hide it.
    Scott over at CWM would be the guy to ask about the whole patreon thing.
    The success of his channel pretty much speaks for itself.
    You can only try and see what happens. If you don't, you'll never know.
    Keep up the good work.

      I considered polishing it for the finale of the video,but I'm low on sandpaper and ambition haha. I had one bare metal car years ago and upkeep was a pain so the fenders will get painted. I don't do car shows and the general public doesn't care whether my fenders are original or not.

    Kyle - not sure if you'd be interested working in a high dollar shop, but don't shit yourself, you have the skills. I did refinishing work in one of those places and I'm quite sure after a coat or two of urethane primer your work would be ready to go. Yes there's guys out there that are better, there always is, no matter who you are. I know guys like that and it's always amazing when you're around them, pisses me off, it's sick how good they are. The other thing that amazes me with these guys are that they are pretty young. If you don't think your skills are at the top level, I guarantee you , that within a year they would be. I think all you would need to do is hook up with that group of individuals. Prove me wrong, I'm sure you know that when you have to do that top quality work, day in and out it pretty much sucks. Pressure and put off deadlines with the added and expected perfection at all times usually crushes the ordinary man. I'm too long here but as I said before, your skills are there and exceptional.
