I believe the stars of Undertale are the characters themselves... ALL of them. A star can fall down, a star can rise, a star struggles but it keeps shining.

I like to think of this as Chara’s theme. Just feels right.
Imagine you had an ending where chara came back to life without killing anyone on the route.

Star is such a mysterious song, a dark but serene melody never to be used in the game.
Yet for some reason it became one of my favorite songs.

This sounds so magical. I’ve been a fan of Undertale and it’s music as long as anyone and I’ve never heard this track. It does sound like it belongs with the game, but it also sounds like it doesn’t, like it’s too pure.

Star is such an underrated song. More people need to remix it or use it in some way.

The original context i heard star in was the Undertale the Musical: Genocide Run where it was haunting. This song sounds relieving, as if lifting a massive wait from your shoulders once and for all, seeing a long lost friend once more. I think it says a lot about Chara as a character, as many associate them with Star. Chara isnt inherently evil, but like the Genocide Musical and the run itself, its our actions that change Chara's behavior and confirm an unhealthy outlook in their afterlife that makes them a megalomaniac. They have little impact on *your* actions, but your actions have huge impact on them. Chara doesnt make themselves known in Neutral and Pacifist, but perhaps your actions of pure kindness allowed them to let go, move on and be relieved of their burden.

I dont know about you,but this remind me of the Super Mario Galaxy Soundtrack,and i feel at peace right now,such great interpretation for this cool melody,is really amazing the conversion of the 8-bit vibes to an orchestration piece!

I´m crying in this moment, because i´m passing a dificult moment. My "friends" betrayed me and in school some people are laughing at my personal characteristics. My mind is a mess too, i´m with a lot of problems. But this song reminds me that i´m not alone, i have a incredible family and god at my side.

I love this... You have such an amazing ability to grasp the whole idea of the piece. It's not just playing the same song with different instruments. It's a complete re-imagining of the piece, yet without straying from the original story it tells. (and you can do things with that cello section that make me feel things!)
1:40 his theme it breaks my heart because i always remember asriel and The unused soundtrack of madjick is also connected to asriels and all the songs in the undertale is connected to asriel and the reason why toby fox didn't add Star from that fight cause it's having technical problems anddddd..

Ah, Star. I never really appreciate the power of this song for a while, and never really understood why people attributed to to Chara, especially after Toby revealed it was originally just intended for an Easter Egg. But now... I'm not sure if I even believe that. There's something far too coincidental about there being an unused song called "star", in a game surrounding themes of being cut off from the night sky, where determination appears in the form of save stars...
I believe it was Man on the Internet's lyrical cover of Star that really made me truly appreciate it, and while I don't think this is the orchestral cover they used for it, that cover also showed me the musical power it had. It has this weird, fluid mysteriousness to it, like it hasn't quite settled on a key. I'm sure if I were to work out to mode it'd be something around Lydian. In that sense it's a lot like Gaster's theme, a simple, unnerving yet intriguing melody. But while Gaster's theme only does a simple modulation, I do believe Star changes mode as well, giving it this weird structure that allows it to be pushed and tweaked in different ways.
Angelic, childlike in nature, to show the sadness and innocence stripped away, to show the wonder of the fallen child, even sneaking in a more-than-obvious bit of Once Upon a Time. But then when you descend that half step, subtly shifting that mode, you get a taste of that corruption, that anguish burrowed beneath it.
Osirois is a master of atmosphere, and it works perfectly to shift everything just enough to feel off, to make you wonder about it. It really feels like a tribute to Chara, to everything they started, and the tragedy of what they left. Good night, Chara.
