my parents are interracial (American and Vietnamese) and I never thought about how hard it was for them. I asked my mom about it and she said her family did not visit her for a whole year. They didn't even see my older sister being born or go to my mom's wedding.

I'm Singaporean-Indian and my partner is Caucasian-British. We've been living together in London for the past 6 years and we've never had weird stares or people passing judgement when we're out and about. But when we're in Singapore, people stare at us like that lady mentioned, artefacts in a museum. For a multicultural society that presents itself to the world as modern and developed, the people are so backwards 🤷🏽‍♀️
