Hey Jean, you did a very good job describing different visas. For sure get a good agent! You said people could buy land with one of those visas. As far as I know a foriegner has to have a Balinese partner with over 50% ownership, which means the Balinese is the owner. I would be really careful with this idea and get a lawyer fluent in English. As you said it all keeps constantly changing, so good luck everybody and have a good time here and be safe and respectful. Be aware that a lot you see is an illusion. Be careful in all things you get involved in. Peace
As an owner of a PMA you can lease land for 30 years and extend it by 30 years and by a further 20 years. By that time, who knows what the rules will be. Not quite owning but almost the same thing.
@@romankacin8365 hey thanks for this input - this is accurate to my understanding as well but it seems now you can actually own the land thru the PMA and you can sell it on. Although the price will be higher than leasing it of course.

If you apply online for a 30-day visa on arrival at US$35 and want to extend for another 30 days, you can do it yourself. I did it in March and it was approved on the spot for US $35. No need to use agent or visit Immigration office.
I am American man, have lived extensively on long term visas in Peru, Panama, Vietnam, and currently in Thailand. I have never been to Indonesia, and they do not have a retirement visa, but I may still want to come and experience Bali for 6 months sometime soon. What I really require is an intelligent lovely Asian woman like you 😊. Oh, there is a retirement visa; now I am going to have to do some research whether Bali or Thailand will be a better place to invest...
Hi Jean, Thank you so much for the thorough rundown on the different visas. It’s definitely helpful. My husband and I are planning to retire in Bali in a couple of years and hopefully the retirement visa will still be around 😬 Btw, I enjoyed your recent videos on SG and BKK very much. They made me miss the food so so much and I was salivating watching them. I need to go back soon haha… Btw, I always feel sooooo calm listening to you speak. Maybe you should also consider teaching Yoga or something similar?? 😬😬😝 Have a great weekend in beautiful Bali, Jean 😘
Hi V K, thanks for the kind note heh I used to teach yoga in SG! at Art of Yoga in Siglap and at Gym & Tonic (think this has alr closed) in Katong... it was nice but eventually i moved to full time surf instructing in Vietnam. These days I'm more on the surfing and meditating. Glad the video is helpful - i'm also hoping by the time i reach the age requirement they still hv this retirement kitas it's very doable!!!
Thanks for a great rundown of the requirements to stay in Bali. I was really excited to do this until the end of the video when you mentioned that you have to be vaccinated in order to come there. How sad. I hope this changes.
word on the street is that they aren't checking for this at the airport on arrival but the airlines still ask to see ur vac cert before you board the plane
oh that's interesting - immigration has an official proclaimation out for the second home visa has it not? and what's this about the 211A visa? more details please!
Hi Jean, I've been watching your videos about Bali for some time already and love your content. My husband and I moved from Hong Kong to Bali recently and we got our Investor Kitas approved. Now, we are trying to find a good health insurance for expats and would appreciate if you can share some recommendations. Thank you 😊
hi! Hope you guys r enjoying life in Bali! We hv been using Safetywing for a long time but some of our friends are on Allianz Bali policies which is nice cos there is direct billing from local hospitals in case anything happens. U can check that out if u like!
Thanks Jean for such an interesting info about the visas in Bali. I am also planning to retire early, maybe in Bali. I am wondering about the functioning of health insurance in Bali. Are you covered by public health insurance if you are granted any of the visas? (For example the second home visa). Or you need to get a private insurance? Any info about this is welcome. Best regards
This is very informative. It does seem a bit strange though that the second home visa is capped at 10 years. So if I build a villa or purchase one there, I'd have to rent it out and move somewhere else after year 10?
Hi there, I am a University student in Singapore planning on travelling to Bali and living at a friends place for 3 months. I saw in this video you mentioned the B211A C1 tourist visa and that one of the visa agencies you showed in the photo is "BaliVisa". I tried contacting them to get some clarification but seems like they are unsure about one thing which I thought perhaps you might know. Apparently upon entry in Bali it is required that you have a return ticket and not a one way ticket as some customs officers asks for that. However, if I am travelling on a 2 months visa and planning on extending for another 2 months so that I can stay for 3 months legally, how do I do this? Cause I technically can't get a return ticket 3 months upon entering a country with a visa of 2 months when I have not extended yet, seems a bit funny, not sure how this works, need some desperate advice, I have been searching high and low, emailing, but no one seems to read their emails in some organisations these days :(
Hi Jean... As far as I know, as a foreigner, you can only rent land in Bali with a PMA, not buy it. The other thing, they don't check vaccination status anymore; we just got back from Bali this week, spent a month there, and nobody checked anything at the airport on arrival... We had heard that you could extend a VOA online, but you are not talking about it, so maybe it is not yet an option? I wish we had the option to get a VOA for 60 days and not have to do the renewal process...
hi Christine! yes u can extend the VOA online by yourself! I only learnt about it from someone else in the comments to this video haha but i do hv the link to the website for applying the VOA in the description! we've just not used the VOA for years n years so i overlooked that bit.
