- Hey guys! In this episode we are preparing for a lot of rain after digging out our crawl spaces. We put our Everything Attachments Box Blade to work and show you how we set it up.

Your tractor buying advice is 100% correct. We too waited a couple of years before buying our tractor. We basically waited until we had no other choice. Don't wait. Save your back and a lot of time by investing in the right size tractor from the get go.

Put a 10-in adjustable wrench in your toolbox it works so much better to adjust those top links and the other threaded link. Then it gives you something to cinch down that lock nut and you can take the handle of the wrench and use that as added leverage by sticking the handle in that welded on loop :)

Your comments at the end sound familiar to me. I didn't know squat about tractors when I bought my property over 13 years ago. I hired a heavy equipment operator to do all the initial excavation work, but I tried to make do with a Polaris Ranger UTV to maintain the place (198 acres). Big mistake on the UTV. I finally bought a used Kubota M9540 about 7 years ago. Then purchased a bunch of EA attachments for it.... I then spoiled myself by getting a hydraulic side and top link.... Worth every penny! After getting a few years of experience under my belt, I added a Kubota B2650. Having the right equipment makes all the difference in the world when you live on a large piece of property. Nice video, you did a excellent job of explaining what you were doing.

RUclips dirt is always so rock-free compared to my Catskill mountains acreage, lol. Good video.

Hi Terry, just now connecting to your channel. Agree with you completely on buying the tractor first! Good video on using the box blade. I just picked up one used and am investigating different ways to use it. Your video helped, thx. Have you done any videos on using a transom?
Thanks! Glad to help. To be honest I have never even heard the term "transom" used in reference to a tractor. :) Would that be some sort pof adjustable plate used in conjunction with an implement?

Well I got the tractor, but not the box blade (yet)! ;-) I've been looking at EA for the box blade - seem to be built better and at the same cheaper than Land Pride. Did you guys get the 54" or 60"? I have the B2601 and I'm on the fence between the two. I mostly want to regrade and crown a hard-packed gravel driveway and cut some trenches for drainage. Thanks and I enjoyed your video and anther with your trip to see Travis over at EA!
You’re welcome. We bought the 60”. Wanted a box wider than our 54” (I believe) tractor. However it only has 4 tines instead of 5 which makes it a little more compatible with our 26 hp tractor. We have had great luck with it and we have hard packed red clay so it gets a workout ha ha. Good luck. They build good stuff.

Just a thought, but would it have been a better idea to have the deeper part of the swale on the downhill side of the cut? The way it is not, it would seem like if you had a heavy downpour, it might escape the swale. O a, just guessing as you are, since I have never tried this with my tractor, also all I have is a back blade, not a box blade.
I see what you are saying but cutting from the high side down would be very difficult because you would have to really tilt the box from that uphill side. Just my opinion. Otherwise its a good plan.

Buy the tractor and build the shop as big as you can afford because for 40 + years of marriage’s I had yet to get my shop until recently and it’s not what I imagined due to the fact that it was her parents farm and hadn’t been farmed in years and after her dad passed her mom got Alzheimer’s so every thing I do to just keep the barn shop and house from falling down sends her into a major spin cycle , but In the barn, there actually is a foundation and slab under two and a half feet of cow & chicken manure and stop the roof leeks across 12k of roofs I really hadn’t planned to retire early but that’s what I’m going to do so I can live to see it done . I new I needed a small excavator to help with all the heavy lifting and it has been very useful . It’s not always in the cards or for most in the banks cards to get the shop before the house … if you can cover it until you get your house up and pay yourself back good luck to all

@@ForestToFarm well I can tell you changing wives doesn’t really help either… I suggest keep the one you got we’re getting to old to break in a new one , good thinking just keep it on course btw foundation sent they designed to catch and hold water I’ve never built one yet that was dry when I wanted it to be dry and the outside is a moat this will be your only security system by raising the draw ! Lol 😂

Hey Thanks!!! Its a laser level. Made by Bosch. We bought it at Lowes and at the time it was around $450. Not cheap but we have lots of landscaping to do and lots of things it will come in very handy for. If we hired someone to do that work it would have been more than the $450 so its a win in our book! :)

How's the ditch holding up?
Pretty good. Man are we behind on building. Materials are crazy high. Supplies on many things are iffy at best. Its gonna happen. :) Hope to get all the grading done some day and a ditch will no longer be needed.
