Love the old Airfix Commandos in Cap Comforters. I have the Foundry Commandos with a few WestWind figures added. It looks like I need a few more seeing the size of your Army.
@@danwade5594 Yes those old Airfix ones were one of my favourites as a kid. I wouldn’t take too much notice of my army though, I always tend to over do things😂. Cheers for watching.
Lol, you’re the second person to pick up on my accent this week. I wasn’t aware there was anything distinctive about the Leicester accent. I was indeed born in Leicester and only left Leicestershire a year ago to move to North Yorkshire. Not really started on reading V3, so I haven’t really got a grip on it yet. Thanks for watching mate😉
Oioi Mim, good vid mate, made me laugh on the Airfx Commando had that same thought 😂. Must admit though Mim it gave me a bit of inspiration to try a bit of kit bashing myself, quite fancy trying to model ‘The Rat Pack’ if your old enough to remember Battle Action comic 😉👌
Cheers mate, yes I remember that coming out about 1975, wasn’t a reader though as I was starting to feel the pressure of having to behave like a grown up, at the ripe old age of 12🙄 Luckily I’m turning 61 soon so I’m free to be as childish as I like, and old enough to not care about people catching me playing soldiers again😂
@@tolemykus4805 Thanks so much, I wasn’t totally focussed when I put them together, as it wasn’t long before my tumour treatment and I wasn’t sure how well the video went. Hopefully I’ll be feeling better and more my old self in a few weeks. Thanks again for watching😉
@@lesliebeilby-tipping6854 Yes the old 54mm figures, loved them, I did buy the 1/72 too, but preferred the 54mm ones. I loved going to Stanley’s Toy shop in Leicester and picking up a new army box, when ever I had any pocket money, happy days☺️. I tend to just build up a range of squads and then add to it over time, if I read something interesting about the unit I base it on. Thanks for watching😉
@@jeremybrooks2415 Thank you. I filmed this and the next few just before I went in, but I’m home now, think it went well, no serious side effects, so hopefully it was successful. It’s going to be monitored and followed up in the coming months, so hopefully I’ll get to know more over time. They say I’ll be having regular MRI’s to check for regrowth. I don’t feel too bad, though I do feel fatigued and have bad headaches. My scalp feels very sore too, but that’s to be expected and hopefully, I will be feeling better soon. Thanks for asking🙂
Glad to hear your home. Yeah I remember you saying last week the next few videos were recorded before. Rest up my friend and glad to hear your doing okay
Hey love the video. I actually just got into bolt action and built up a 1250 list for commandos. I have loved playing them, but I’m trying to decide on what the best transport options are. What do you think works best for the commandos, for outflank or just moving up faster. Been considering either Bren carriers or trucks, I wish the SAS LRDG could be transports as I love the look. Thanks!
@@BigWill501st Thanks for watching. Thats exactly what I’ve been thinking about, like you, I’m certainly going to go with a few Bren Carriers as I’ve seen pictures of the Commandos using them in Normandy. I’m also going to go with a couple of Bedford QLT troop transports. Another option I’m thinking of is a Centaur IV close support tank, as they used those in Normandy too. Good luck with your army mate, feel free to post pictures of them on my Facebook group, I’d love to see them😉
@@TheGreatMim wonderful! Yes I played a match with the centaur as well as a firefly and it worked really really well. Just not having the transports felt off. I think the bren carriers seem fun to maybe do a coupon for smaller squads maybe all with SMGs to outflank in. Although sending a bunch up in a larger truck seems good too.

Really good video, as someone who has just started bolt action found it really useful
Your very welcome, thanks for watching😉
Great Vid, am I detecting a Leicestershire accent? absolutely love the commandos, but for V3 just take lots of indirect fire weapons😮

Great video, were the cap comforter Airfix figures the one in 54mm? Great memories. What were you going to build to bring this up to 1000 points?
