Bolt Action: Figure & Terrain Modelling
Building Log Ramps, Hedgehogs & Barbed Wire for D-Day Wargaming
This week I’m working on some scatter pieces for my D-Day Landing beaches. These include hedgehogs, landing craft traps and barbed wire fencing. Though they blend well with my fleece mat, I may return to these at a later date, to try and tone them to represent the true colour of beach sand, or as close to it as my battle mat will work with. It’s a long video this week, but I hope you’ll find it useful.
There may be a few shorter videos in the coming weeks as my own tumour treatment falls at the end of the month and two of my siblings are experiencing health problems too, so my hobbying has had to take more of a back seat as you would expect.

I actually made some of these. And then I made some more that I pop ontop of vehicles that are destroyed to give them a bit more of a firey-death look. It works even more if you can remove the turret and just put the tea light where the turret goes!
Good idea, I was thinking of doing something similar because I don’t much like the fire markers you get in the kits. I’m also thinking of making some sea explosions. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.😉

I've had that set since the late 1970,s when they were produced by Esci, shame they haven't scaled them up. Good job though on assembling everything and making them look the business.

Good video but a bit of criticism your log ramps are facing the wrong direction and they are a bit small not 28mm scale.
@@gregbradfield1686 You know, I spotted that I’d put them the wrong way around after I posted it😂. Scale wise I tend to go for representative proportional scale, it gives the look without overcrowding a 6 x 4 game table. Thanks for watching mate.

@@danwade5594 Oh I’d definitely recommend it mate, Normandy itself is beautiful, but with history around every corner, it’s fantastic if you like your WWII history. I’ve wanted to go all my life and this was the first opportunity I had, finances being what they are I doubt I’ll get to see it again, but you never know🤞🏻 Thanks again for watching and for the feedback🙂
I hadn't heard of that Tiger 1 still existing. still looks in reasonable condition for its lack of protection from the elements.

Really enjoyed these trip videos , was it a Leger holidays trip?
I went in June this museum and the saint mer Eglise museum was my favourite two of my trip.
I loved the Pegasus one, but unfortunately we weren’t allowed time on the itinerary to visit the American Airborne museum in St Mere Eglise, which was a real shame as I really wanted to visit that one. Thanks for watching😉
