What a nice discussion, I think a lot of people don’t realize that different ships have different pros and cons. It is very important to know and understand what they are, because different people go with different expectation, and different needs. Listening to programs like this can help you to decide what is best for you and your family.
Loved the comparison. We're going on Beyond the 25th for a b2b. I love Oasis class ships and my only disappointment was on Wonder. The only thing I really enjoyed was the suite neighborhood.
My wife was on the beyond this sept. She loved it. We have been on celebrity 3 times. Great service and the food was amazing. You have to try the eclairs at the coffee bar. Omg. We ate at the buffet every day. Shows are a must see. The infinity veranda rooms with wall to wall windows that open we were questioning but it was like a private deck. Loved it. For a relaxing laid back vacation. Celebrity is the choice. Have fun
Very interesting. I think lounge amount and variety is a weaknes on Beyond or any Edge ship. Bars it does fine. I prefer almost all of the same bars that are on Beyond on the Solstice and that is World Class and especially Martini. But Sunset is better on the Beyond. But beyond bars is lounges because that's part of the entertainment and dance possibilities and Icon has just so many more. There's nothing like Boleros or Schooners on the Beyond. Or the dueling piano lounge or jazz club. That alone elevates Icon to me. Food is subjective as many find overall Celebrity to excel at food. But when it comes to specialty dining, then who knows. Beyond has Le Voyage and Daniel Boulud is a highly regarded chef. It seems a very exclusive restaurant. But Icon has that Empire Supper club that adds jazz music to the experience so I'm thinking maybe Icon wins there. Icon just has so much more variety where I think Edge ships are limited for their size in variety of entertainment venues. They may have pretty ones and even nice ones. But, they really only have 3 where some smaller ships have 4-6. For me the Beyond ship is screaming out for a Boleros type of space and more quiet nooks. Also, that Retreat area restricts the front of the ship in both deck and interior spaces to have forward views. That's a big minus for some of us. Now on entertainment, the lady wins this one IMO. Icon has those different types of shows, not only theater. Entertainment is not just shows or partial shows brought to lounges. It's also varied stuff in varied lounges like pub, Boleros, Schooner, Music Hall, Dueling Pianos, Jazz club, that's a lot of different music choices and vibes. And I don't even know if that's all of them. Beyond has Club, Grand plaza/martini bar, Eden. At least inside the ship. Service styles are different. RCI is just looser, friendlier. Celebrity is getting looser but it's still a bit formal in comparison. But both can have hiccups and both can do great. Depends on your crew really and your sailing. But the thing is, it's how you use the ship. And who is going with you. I'll take any RCI over any Celebrity ship for families or groups. For couple's cruising, I'll take Celebrity depending on what the couple's like to do aboard the ship. As for the couple, if you've only experienced Beyond, if you try a Solstice class ship, it's a different feel to that class. There's actually stuff in that class that the Edge ships don't have. Most of the time the new classes add things but sometimes they take some things away.
Love your channel please keep it up and the podcast too 🎉
Thank you so much!😊

Thanks! I completely agree that wonder was the most disappointing oasis ship.

Going on Beyond in April of 2026. Heard so much good thing about both, but I think the smaller ship works best for my wife and I.
