You should have compared The Retreat to The Yacht Club it would have blown you away!

Curious how you were able to do celebrity for around $2k. We stayed aquaclass last yr on equinox (an older ship) and paid just under $4k for 6 nights. This year we cannot find anything under $3k for even interior. Am i missing a way to find better deals? This would be only our 2nd cruise ever. Thanks so much.

I have gone on MSC before and have enjoyed my cruise even though it is a little different from many American cruise lines. I think it is probably one of the best values for your money out there. So, I was very interested to see this on the yacht club experience to help me see if that would be worth the upgrade. I love these little videos that give you an idea to help you make the best of any Cruise that you might take. Thank you for the good information.

I agree with you… When we sail on MSC in the Gen pop area we do enjoy it very very much but we do purchase the specialty dining which happens to be wonderful… However I just watched a food video on MSC can't remember which ship but they had very very very many positive things to say about the main dining room… So maybe things are changing.

My 10 cents. Pool bar gets busy but never had to wait too long but then again I'm usually just getting beer during the day, if cant be bothered to wait use one of the servers. Eden a great atmosphere but I usually stick to regular cocktails not the fancy ones. I know you have previously praised World Class bar and martini bar. Sunset bar at back of ship is another good option and i found the staff there great. Unfortunately the pool gets busy with people just standing around drinking. Craft Social is a bit hit and miss as it gets busy. Im back on board in December.

Have a cruise coming up and the ULD package ends up being $156pp total for a 4 night cruise on Utopia. Do you think it's worth it at this price? Chops +1 is $106 plus gratuities.

I hope they offer these same drinks on the Ascent as I am sailing in November. Your selections sound refreshing.

MSC Yacht club kicks the hell out of Royal Suite level

A closer comparison would be MSC World America vs RCCL Wonder of the Seas with same cabin type. MSC Seashore is more comparable to the Quantum class Royal Caribbean ship using the same cabin type and price level. MSC price point is substantially less that RCCL for the equal cabin type. Funny part is on my last RCCL cruise the "Loyal to Royal" crowd wanted to know more about MSC and how it compared! Lol! Some seem to be concerned about the upcoming changes to RCCL tier system this year. Enjoyed the video.

Agree completely! Love Oasis class ships, especially Central Park.

Can’t really compare any other cruise lines ships to the oasis class ships.. oasis class will win every time lol I’m a Royal girl so I may just be a little bias, but those ships are hard to beat.. only icon class can beat them lol and that’s debatable.

Breakfast is offered at one of the main dining spots. There’s a pizza spot for late night snacking. The Beyond was fantastic! Not perfect but my wife and I absolutely loved it.

We were just in the Beyond. The magic carpet goes down to deck at dinner time, otherwise it’s in those top few decks. I agree with more options for included dining would’ve been nice.

If you get a chance, check out Their current Podcast, #40, they have a great tip on whether to leave from Seattle or Vancouver when you take an Alaska cruise. I have done both and it really does make a big difference.

Pro tip - do the buffet for breakfast and lunch! We prefer it to the dining!

We loved the Brooklyn Cafe! Great place for morning coffee! We are Diamond on MSC so they closed the Brooklyn Cafe for about an hour for Diamond guests where we met the ship's officers. They served caviar and champagne which was a first for us on a cruise ship! This Pirate really didn't get to see the whole ship on our last cruise aboard Seashore so this video helps remind me of areas I need to see this next time aboard in November. The specialty dining packages are well worth it as the dinners in the Specialty restaurants served are WAY better than the ship MDR'S in my humble opinion. The Cocktail Bar you showed located outside the Japanese and Steak Restaurants was great place to grab a drink before and after dinner. Patience was a virtue though!

If you have a drink package, is the champagne bar covered? What are the prices like in the butchers cut restaurant?

Very helpful information If you are going to Cruise on that ship as to the things you want to make sure you plan on doing. What nice diversity in the dining rooms.

Personally, I think "Yacht Club" on MSC is overrated even before I saw your video of your experience. Some fellow cruisers who did yacht club inside cabin on MSC Seashore when I sailed on the same ship (I booked the Aurea Balcony Suite w/Hot tub) paid WAY more than I did! I paid $1700 for the 4-night cruise. My cabin had a walk-in closet and bathtub and 300 sq ft of space (I did a video on my channel of it). Their Yacht club cabin was just like the one you showed! MSC dining room food is a work in progress for sure (My last RCCL cruise the MDR food was not very good either)! The specialty dining package is so inexpensive on MSC compared to other cruise lines it is the better choice in my humble pirate opinion. I haven't done a Celebrity cruise yet but will in a year or two. I have another Rum to review! Cheers!

This was a great comparison. Thank you for sharing . Hubby and I are loyal to Royal but we are ready to try other cruise lines. For our 14 year anniversary, we want to try another cruise line and our eyes have been on VV or Celebrity because we have heard great things about both cruise lines, and this video just put the icing on the cake to help us decide. Enjoyed the video. We did the Aurea Suite w balcony hot tub on MSC Seashore back in December 2023. We peeked into the Yacht club area from the Aurea Bar and Sundeck on deck 19. The Seashore is one of the most beautiful cruise ships this Pirate has sailed on! The price point of Yacht Club inside cabin was more than I wanted to spend, and I wanted a huge suite balcony instead. I gave the cabin steward $40 when I met him on day 1. We had Butler service almost after that! 😂 This Pirate is sailing again on MSC Seashore this November. The ship is so huge I didn't get to do and see everything the 1st time around.

It really helps to watch because then you know what to look for when you use a service like yacht club, and can really get your moneys worth, instead of learning about what you missed later on.

Some people packed their own pizza box or Tupperware to bring it back back to their room. I will never pay for room service.

If so was wondering why you went to the buffet in the main experience of the ship every day??? we have experienced both the main area of the seashore and stayed in an ocean view cabin and also we stayed in the yacht club in an interior cabin… We enjoyed both experiences very much except the shower in the interior Yacht Club on the seashore I felt was very tight but did not feel it was as tight in the main area of the ship in an Ocean view room… Crazy I'm sure but that's how I felt… Totally agree with you about every single thing you said about the seashore ...loved Hola Cantina restaurant… review... thanks and looking forward to your next review 🚢 we will be going on the seashore in the Yacht Club but this time in balcony in September 2024

Your comment about the Cafe Promenade was surprising. On the Symphony there was a line separating the paid and free items as well as a designated pickup section, and the Symphony is an older ship. strange.

Great videos but the price should have been compared to Seashores base price.I do understand that the base price for celebrity beats the seashore yacht club.

I understand that there is no guys burger or a cafe promenade or a park cafe but this is Celebrity. Celebrity isn’t known for those types of food places. There’s still almost always something in the buffet, mast grill is there, and the spa juice bar for healthy snacks. If you need more than that maybe Celebrity isn’t the cruise line for you.

What did you pay for wifi on the Beyond ? You didn't mention that in your cost.

I went solo on the Beyond in April, and Captain Kate, like Captain Leo, stood at the gangway along with our cruise director saying goodbye to everyone. The bartenders at the Martini Bar were so friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to sail.Beyond again

In your particular case, I think you're right. But you had the "unicorn" with Celebrity in that you caught a good price. If you don't care about itinerary, you can catch a deal on Celebrity. Otherwise, their pricing has become nothing short of egotistical. Don't get me wrong...they have a great product. But it's not worth what they normally charge for it. You also have to consider that in Yacht Club you have free access to areas of the spa, your wristband gives you elevator priority, and probably most importantly, you have an area of the ship exclusively for Yacht Club. On Seashore it's all-encompassing; you don't have to go out into the regular areas of the ship and battle the crowds if you don't want to. Your comparison was interesting and did a great job, and I agree with your finding, but only in this particular case. It was the (rare) pricing advantage Celebrity had this time that gave it the win. I think if you had found pricing more typical to Celebrity it would have been much closer.

Good video. However, why did you compare a Premium cruise brand (Beyond) to a maim stream brand(Seashore). Although I have not sailed on either yet. IMO Beyond was already 2 steps ahead of the Seashore. Just curious.

So very interesting to hear your comments and opinions about both ships… We have been on the beyond as well as interior MSC yacht club… We just went on the beyond in April 2025 and on the seashore yacht club interior in January 2025… I liked the beyond but did not love it… Totally agree with you about cabins in the yacht club being very small and did not feel luxurious at all… I totally loved the interior beyond cabin as well as the beautiful bathroom… MSC fell very short on the interior cabins for the price of the cruise... the bar service in the Top Sail lounge and other bars outside of the yacht club were superior to beyond in our opinion... we did not care for the loud martini bar noise on the beyond which seemed to permeate multiple decks of the ship… We really enjoy the celebrity solstice class ships much more and enjoy the martini bar much better in the location that they are on solstice class ships… We also thought the food in the yacht club dining room was far superior to the food in the main dining rooms of the beyond… We did not go to the common buffet on the seashore on this specific time because we were in yacht club and found the outdoor buffet and the main dining room for lunch delicious however the buffet on the beyond was probably the best buffet we have ever been at as well for lunch and breakfast… did you happen to go to the seafood buffet at the end of the yacht club cruise… It was amazing… And I know that the beyond had an amazing shrimp buffet as well at the end of the cruise… as far as entertainment we loved both ships so we can't really compare very much to that… We were surprised that the entertainment on the seashore was as good as it was and yes the entertainment on the beyond was awesome as well… It's so good we can all have our own opinions… I'm not saying I would never go on beyond again because of course we would…… we do have another seashore yacht club booked but this time in a balcony cabin… I do enjoy listening to you and your videos… Thanks for all you do🚢

I didn't have any negative experience with the vast majority of the problems that were mentioned. Bars can get busy, in deed.

Awesome Video and Very informative. My Wife and I were on the Wonder of the Seas last year in May and we had a Blast. But this year we are shifting gears and Boarding the Celebrity Beyond for the first time for Our Anniversary. We are just Counting the days. Very excited. 😊
