Dude your Volvo videos have a been a life saver. I was getting a leak on the drivers side. Only problem is my sunroof doesn't work. So I googled how to remove the glass and of course you had a video on it. I was finally able to reach the drain holes and pump them clean. This isn't the only video of yours that has helped me significantly. Thank you man. You're truly helping so many Volvo owners world wide. Cheers from the U.S!
Thank you for this! I had water accumulate on the side of the airbag and it would leak into the bottom of the seat too, where the legs go. Will seek to unclog the draining holes ASAP!
Indeed, water usually leaks from the front to the rear seats (there's a passage under the front seat floor reinforcement bar - which I stuffed with expanding foam), need to also check under the corresponding rear carpet. I would let the curtain airbag exposed without the a-pillar trim (I have a video how to safely remove this trim), to let the airbag dry properly during summer days
6:50 Place electrical tape to the outer part of the sunroof gasket. It will block water penetration entry until you can fix the problem. It worked for me and takes only minutes and easily removed.. Above all, keep your car CLEAN inside and out... it's a VOLVO!
Just bought used 2012 S60 and getting small leak of water on inside windshield when car titled nose down on incline. It can rain all night with car parked level but when I back out of drive way up hill with nose down that's when I see the water run straight down the inside windshield. Could this be the reason?
Have a question as I might have same problem to remove the plastic cover on the side do i have to remove ground as airbag could activate?? I rather not to as i could loose radio code and don't know it Pls let me know Thanks
Indeed I could not access the rear drains. In the S60 you can see them inside the trunk, behind the side covers near the lid, running over the wheel arches. May try to detach them from there and 'backwash' them with care. When the car is parked on a level surface, the front drains take all the rain water. Same when parking on inclines with the nose down. Rear drains will work when parking on inclines with the rear down
@@Peppermint1 I thought maybe you had a trick for the rear drains from the sunroof. the side panel access is not ideal, and the drain exit point is a 90 degree elbow. Which makes it all the more difficult. thanks for replying
I'd go with compressed air and build a custom setup with fittings and control valve. If thing are really clogged, you won't get water spraying back into the car
Unfortunately, many other european brands had the same problem, the tube diameter was too small. There are also two rear tubes as well, important to clean them too especially if the car is parked on incline with the rear lower than the front - during the rain, water will pass by the sunroof seal and will drain by the rear tubes (even if the sunroof is closed)

I have an '04 XC70 and my sunroof didn't work until I remove the corroded alarm siren horn located under the front right wheel well.
Ive been trying to figure out where the leak is coming from for months!!!! Thank you so so much that fixed it FINALLY. You're a hero.
Thanks for the video! I didn't have a tube so I used an empty Sriracha bottle to squirt some hot water through those drains and it worked fine for me.
You have a wonderful problem solving mind. You use of readily available materials, Wow!

Seems like you have all the solutions to my Volvo issues. Thanks again!!
👍👍
Have used a wire coat hanger carefully for twenty years on my V 70. So far no problems
Do you have any videos of lower drain hose at passenger seat floor dash area? 2004 xc70 here with flooded floor mat. Interior trim dry.

How about the rear drains? The sun roof will not retract to allow the insertion of the rear tubes. Any hints?

Could you use compressed air as well?
I used compressed air and it solved my leaking water into v50 cabin

Where do I buy the tube I have a Volvo s40 06
Any hardware store will have these - may want to measure first see if the S40 needs the same diameter
I think I rather blow compressed air instead of water in case there is a leak INSIDE the pillar
I haven't tried but too much pressure may also disconnect the hoses where they connect to each other
That is recall worthy
