      No cab sim. The Tech 21 Blonde Deluxe has that built in. If you'd like to see my settings for it, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/_6LknXOvAqA/видео.html. Refer to episode 1 for sound examples.

    Loving this! Just one question: Is this really in 83 Bpm? when I put my metronome in 83 bpm and 6/8 it does not match the tempo of the song. What am I doing wrong? :)

    • @AaronWesley
      @AaronWesley  6 лет назад +1

      It's definitely 83BPM at 6/8. Make sure your metronome is set to eighths, not quarters. Also, if it's adding an emphasis on beat 1 at a different meter, it'll sound wrong. I guess it depends on what model metronome you're using. For example, in Abelton, if it's set to 4/4 at 83BPM it doesn't work. It'll only sound right if the meter is set to 6/8.

    • @andreas1987
      @andreas1987 6 лет назад +2

      Thanks! :) For some reason my metronome had to be set to 166bpm. Its an app on my iPhone (maybe not the best.. lol)

      @@AaronWesley Hi, there. Im having some issues on this. lol. My timeline only has the following: 4/4, dotted 8th and so on, except 6/8. Ok, so what I get from you message above, setting my preset at 83 bpms with eight time signature is ok then?

  • @timctone489
    @timctone489 5 лет назад

    Aaron, this is a great tutorial. Thank you for sharing. I have a question, to your knowledge, do you know of another way to preset the bpms and time signature other than the 83 bpms, 6/8 setting?

    • @AaronWesley
      @AaronWesley  5 лет назад +1

      To be honest, to make it easy on myself, I usually just keep it on the dotted eighth setting like I would in 4/4 at 83BPM. That's what I did for this video.

    • @AaronWesley
      @AaronWesley  5 лет назад +1

      Sometimes I also just set the delay to straight eighth notes. If you have a stereo delay, try experimenting with eighths on one side and dotted eighths on the other. I've also used dotted eighths and quarters together quite a bit. Instead of thinking about the meter, 4/4 or 6/8, think about the eighth note division and where you want your repeat to land. That will help you decide what settings work best for the song.

    so is the first verse the same as the chorus? or is there no guitar playing during the first verse

    • @AaronWesley
      @AaronWesley  6 лет назад

      For the studio version, which is the reference for the video, there is nothing substantial enough to teach for the first verse, however you can always add some atmospheric swells. Even the first chorus doesn't have much for the lead electric, but you can play the 2nd chorus part if you wish.

      On the examples with the reference audio, there is a low mix dual delay. During the breakdown explanation, there is no delay and the gain is very clean just to eliminate distraction for teaching purposes.

      Yes, this video is directed specifically to the guitarist playing lead for the song. These are definitely in the mix from the studio version of Cory Asbury's Reckless Love Album. If you're struggling to play the parts, you might consider switching to the rhythm guitar role and maybe even look up another video that covers that. Goodluck.
