LYRICS
Verse 1
I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me
Chorus
I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive
Verse 2
I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me
Bridge
Sing a little louder
In the presence of my enemies
Sing a little louder
Louder than the unbelief
Sing a little louder
My weapon is a melody
Sing a little louder
Heaven comes to fight for me

Dude you killed this tutorial. You actually explained things! Well done if you ever read this! 🤙
Amen 🙏 I see you lots god bless brother
I love how he even explains his picking patterns! Have not seen that from Pope or Strand
Is this one of the Bethel guitarists?
MAtt Hesson yes this is Jonathan Lee. He’s one of the more recent guitarists playing for Bethel.
Yes! He's very talented and his improvising on stage is excellent!
Oh Yeahhhh! This is going up onto my favourites bar. Good job Jonathan. God Bless!
Amazing video! One of the best electric guitar tutorials I have seen! Super clear and really easy to follow! Thank you J Lee! God bless you bro
One of the best tutorials. Thank you for breaking it down into all the components- so helpful for growth for all of us.
Always appreciate when you combine the parts for one player! Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks Jonathan and Bethel Music
Excellent Tutorial, thank you for doing w/ effects and without effects and also then doing a play through to see how the parts fit.
Thank you. God bless u all
Thank you WorshipU!
Really good tutorial here. As a guitar player this music is so under challenging to me but you have to play this music just like this or it wont sound good.
Just uploaded a playthrough and tone walkthrough with original parts I came up with since I decided not to try and learn the original parts and see if I could come up with more interesting parts. Interesting comparing to the actual parts now that mine video's done!
You guys did a good job with the camera angle, will be easy for beginners to see his fingers and make out what he's playing. Good job!
I Learned the song very quickly with your style of teaching. Thanks man! God bless you
That was so helpful! Thanks! God bless
Im playing this song for the first time, I will play as you show me here but in key of A. Jesus sent you to me, brother. Praise God!
Definitely the best tutorial. I have troubles sometimes picking out the finger positions and exact picking patterns when
everything is affected. Sure, there's tableture available but this cuts to the chase
A huge thank-you, very well explained and executed !
Great teacher! Awesome job brother!
Thank you! Amen
AWESOME you sound so beautiful and a great teacher aswell🙌🙌
More of this guys please!
Thank you tutorial, God bless you
Brother

I thought this very well done. Thanks!
thank u for the video AWESOME
Highly appreciated!!!
Thanks for sharing
AMAZING , I LIKE THE PATTERNS..
Thank you so much...
I relate far too much to the nervous Bigsby move at 0:21. Geez.
Very well done.
We will be singing this song for the 33rd anniversary of our church. And i'm so blessed that you got a very elaborate guitar tutorial for this song. Thanks a lot!
Derp Senpai congrats how did it go?
@@Joan668 They changed the song since the person suggested it didn't feel well that day. It's still a great line-up. Looking forward to playing this song in the future
J Lee what a legend!!!
Is he one of the Bethel guitarists?
MAtt Hesson yeah he tours with bethel music
@@jonathanenns1164 oh ok thanks! I knew he looked familiar!
Nice work. Helpful to get the sound and picking part. I have to use alternate fingering on the upper register. My old fingers just don't work like they used too. 🙂
Very thorough and helpful tutorial! The only suggestion that I would have is to also include your right picking hand within the picture screen when you do the final play-through.
Thanks Dude.
Gracias saludos desde Chile . Atte . Cristian
Thank you :)

Thanks for being so specific. In picking, reverb, overdrive. It would be cool if you also put a video out for those who don't add a pedal and play erect
Thanks, and God bless!
Where the streets have no name... I played that riff in this song! 😂
That Riff is in Who you say I'm by Hillsong , Right ?!
?
@@Daya-kc9mi haha yeah its very similar but diff timing
Yes very very similar! Identical notes. In the U2 song it is in 6/8 before the main part of the song kicks it. Love a bit of the edge!
It's similar, but I think it falls on different beats
Top.Brasil
Love it thank you! Only way it would be better is if you told us what the chords were. I know it’s a weird chord with an f and an f#. It’s just good to have the theory behind what we’re playing. Thanks!
It's NED!!!
So much decay 😎
Thank you so much , you made it easy to understand, 😁
2:27 this was my reaction to hearing you play 😲
Thanks - great demonstration - could you show us the chord patterns for the bridge please? They were not discussed in the walk through.
1, 5, 6, 4 in this case it's C, G, Am, F.
Where streets have no names
What the heck is that guitar?!?! I need one!!!
Veritas Portlander
7:54 sounds like U2- Where The Streets Have No Name.
Thank much ... everything is so much easier to understand and i appreciate the picking pattern as well. I just don't understand the need for the capo? I mean everything you are playing it seems to me is without the need of a capo?! Comments?
There’s not a single professional musician on planet Earth who cares if you use a capo or not. That conversation is had exclusively by amateurs and boomer rocker guitarists who get some weird sense of superiority for refusing to use them.
Just curious, what amp and cab are you using?
How many repeats u have the delay on for the intro/verse?
Thank you so much for your tutorial. Isn't the delay a doted fourths?
I tried the doted eights and it sounds not good, but doted fourths sound similar to yours.
friend, thousands of likes if I could. Blessings!

Jonathan, I want to learn the electric quitar for this song. I am new to quitar. can you show this on tabs with all the strings being played. God bless..❤
The key of C# has an E# and a B#, so it's more commonly called the key of Db, however, I think he calls it C# due to using the C chord shape 1/2 step up on the 4th fret with a capo on fret 1
456or7strings actually it would have an F and a C. We as guitarist call it a C# because that’s just how our minds are wired. Pianists would call it a Db due to that being how their minds work.
zachary trojanowski that’s not correct - the key of C# is ALL sharps
I as a Drummer has no idea of what u guys are saying :> lol
It seems like everything is a half step higher than the key because of the capo. Do we assume the guitar is tuned down a half step? Key of C# = C#-D#-E#(F)-F#-G#-A#-B#(C)-C# (or key of Db = Db-EB-F-Gb-Ab-Bb-C-Db). It starts out playing a D (5th string, 4th fret, capo 1) instead of a C# (or Db).
because it has no bass tutorial !? would be of great value to us bass players!
Jhonny Anderson I have send a request a while ago if the bass players please please please could start make tutorials!
#electricbasstutorial@@ferrie76
Great tutorial! Your very talented you should be the guitarist on bethel!
Isn't he?
@@jluis6027 I thought he was
Omg it's P&W Herman Li!!!!!!
do you have the cloud preset for this?
hii, what pre Amp is good for this song ?
Anyone else only hear the guitar line to summer hair by the academy is at the last verse?
Howdy from down Under! Just wondering what guitar Jonathon is playing in the video? Seen it around in many videos
It's called a Portlander made by Veritas Guitars
Prechorus part spells F#maj7 - C#add9 - G#sus-G#. No need to switch fingers on G# either. you're already there .
Does anyone know the link to that guitar?
What kind of guitar are you using?
Anyone know what type of guitar this is thanks
Veritas Guitars from Vancouver, WA
i'd be really intrigued to see a worship guitarist use a les paul
Same! The bassiness of the lp is not suited to modern worship trends, however. When I use my lp, I often have to crank the highs.
Nigel Hendroff used a les Paul for most of the Hillsong albums in the 2000s
I think Kari Jobe's guitarist uses a Les Paul Custom. Chris Tomlin's longtime guitarist Daniel Carson uses a Les Paul, too. I use a Les Paul Traditional Pro at my church. It can be a little too fat, but it is more versatile than some might think.
I use a LP and just started using a Firebird (which I feel is never seen in a worship setting). The LP is definitely more chunky which is what they're obviously known for but I make do lol. The Firebird (I have lollar pickups in it) definitely is more tonally close to what modern worship guitar goes for as it has a more chimey bright sound to it.
It doesn't matter what guitar you use. As long as it has low output PAF style humbuckers that can do cleans really well. You can totally use a Les Paul in worship because worship guitar relies heavily on effects. Chances are you will have multiple EQ options on some pedals, just dial down the bass, balance the mid, and raise the highs. If you strat/tele, do the opposite with the EQ. Pickups and amp/cab are where 90% of your tone happens so it doesn't matter really what guitar you use, just a preference thing with all the effects creating most your tone.
Que marca es esa guitarra
Is he also playing the f note o the 4 string on the 3 fret as well?
Yes
What pedals did you use?
He said he uses a cloud reverb and a tape delay
Bono style rifs
does anyone know what pickups he uses
Veritas Bearcats
Thank you so much for making this video. It’s actually quit easy once you have muscle memory and play along helps allot 🦾👊🏾! God bless
Nice but shame you didn’t name the chords or inversions etc. Also why would you use a capo? Is it only for the bridge?
How to get that kind of sound
Ferdy Marbaniang i assume he would have
Strymon Bigsky (reverb)
Strymon Timeline (delay)
Prism (boost)
Can i have your guitar ? 🙏
Jhs Kilt or Jhs Superbolt?
iPhone GuitarRIg
There should be no reason why you couldn't use alternate picking for the entire verse section. rhythmically it makes more sense.
U2: Where The Streets Have No Name ISPIRAZIONE E UGUALE TONALITA D IASSOLO
What brand of guitar is he playing?
Veritas guitar
Sounds like someone was listening to u2.....
00:19 a tape what jonathan?
Cam Pablo a Tape Delay he said. This was how Delay was originally done where the guitar signal was put through a tape machine and then fed back as a repeat. These days many delay pedals simulate this effect. Essentially it’s a Delay where the repeats get darker and trail off. If you have a basic delay pedal with feedback level and tone set the tone to the right and this will make the repeats darker and trail off without getting in the way of the dry signal and this will give you a similar tone to what’s exampled here.
Lots of multi effects pedals may call it a Tape Echo.
What kinda guitar is this ?
I believe a custom veritas portlander
can you show us the tutorial for when you don't have any electric players? lol
Whats that guitar man?
This is what I want to know too
Veritas portlander!
