Horrible sound design for a game where sound design is the absolute key. Way too loud, it's ridiculous. Also should have no music, ruins the atmosphere. Basically they used standard game sound design as in every standard fps game from the last 20 years.

It's a very promising and interesting game, but you can notice very serious errors here that don't exist in the film, the creatures have great hearing in the films and hear everything, even people's heavy footsteps, here in this game it's very broken and leaves unnecessarily easy and the protagonist steps on the ground normally and the creature doesn't even listen. The game's visuals are pretty cool and the mechanics are cool, but the game itself still lacks a lot of details from the film.

You'd already be dead in Alien Isolation walking that loud. It doesn't feel as scary either because the things are blind. Isolation was another level of adrenaline.

It's wild to me how much everyone hates the walking sounds. My guess is that the devs intentionally upped a lot of small consistent ambient noise in the game to show how in a scenario like this every little noise feel so much louder than it actually was because you're wondering if every step, every exhale, every use of your inhaler is the use that kills you.

Are you sure that's not just YOUR anxiety heightening the sounds of the footsteps, comment section? The game does need to have SOME auditory feedback. And giving you the sound of the footsteps does give you some kind of reference for the relative volume of other sounds in the environment.
I'm sure this is gonna be an alright game for a spooky games night but this feels like if someone read a synopsis of the movies without thinking more about. It's still a demo but it has so much potential. The walking sounds should be a mechanic like for example you can go barefoot, on socks or boots and your walk speed should make sound to alert the Death Angels forcing you to walk incredibly slowly. Lastly a mic detector
They need to have some mechanics for options where you can choose between barefoot or shoes. 1: With barefoot, you move slower, make less noise than shoes. But you lose health when you step on random objects around the map like pieces of glass, nails, etc. However, if you want to make NO noise, you have to loot sandbags around the map. 2. With shoes, you move faster than barefoot, but make more noise. You don’t lose health when you step on broken glass, nails, etc. And you don’t need to loot sandbags. And definitely lower the volume for the shoes when moving. In addition, there should be a mechanic for opening doors. For example, for PS5, theres a moving indicator colored bar where you have to time it by moving both your joysticks L3 and R3 to make the moving indicator stop at the middle (green zone), to determine the noise levels you make when you open the doors. If you time it wrong and the indicator lands at other zones (orange or red), you will make different noises depending on the zone you landed.
Now what I'm most curious about is how is this game being developed so fast, or rather, why is Jurassic Park Survival taking so long? Both of these games are being made by the same studio, JP Survival was announced first, but up until now we have got nothing. Meanwhile a quiet place already has a story trailer that isnt a glorified cinematic, gameplay and a release date to boot

For a game based off movies all about sound design this needs lots of work. Needs more engaging noise mechanics, should be lots of trap like areas that can make loud noises. If you've played Hunt you know how important audio is in that game. This needs to tale that system and go even further with it.

Yall gotta be dense. The footsteps are realistically not loud compared to environmental noises the Death Angels likely block out and focus on more prominent sounds. All humans would’ve been wiped out immediately in the movies if they focused on every single micro sound. The footsteps, clothing sounds, and even breathing are all prominent in game (being only something your character can hear significantly on their own body) to emphasize how quiet your character is supposed to be relation to them and helps you as a player make the better decisions sonically. 🤦

In a game all about being quiet I would have figured that there would have been more thought into the sound design lol. Slow down character movement, tie character speed to loudness of steps and fix AI ability to track said volume.

Honestly?I didn't feel immersed at all. They should have added a feature to capture the microphone so players can't make noise. The mouse was louder than the character's boots, and the doors didn't creak enough to get the alien's attention either
