Love your video! Very relaxing. Just a curiosity question since I don’t know anything about this process, why not cut the fibres when you’re done instead of prying it off the drum?

So to answer your question, cutting the fiber would simply break it. Fibers (until they’re spun) are meant to be pulled apart not cut. It damages the integrity of the fiber and makes it harder to work with afterwards.

It’s the one that came with my carder from Bother Drum Carder (you can purchase the brush alone on their website though) 👍
Planning on getting a motorized drum carder & e-spinner later this year for my artwork since regular yarn isn't helpful & not in colors I need.
Where do you get your fibers from?
Awesome, you'll get so much more creative by making your own yarns! I find some on WorldofWool in the UK or DHG in Italy
