Thank you. For the scorching summer, I decided to cut my hair chin length after never liking to cut my longish hair. My hair looks super healthy and bouncy now, and the short cut is growing on me, but yeah, it's hard not to look like a bowling pin without the long flowy hair, especially for women with more curves. It never occurred to me about the crew neck issues and yes, the more exposed skin is a plus for short hair in wider neck blouses. And shorter hair does "clean up" some outfits, without a long mane, outfits like the gold and black skirt look more chic and neat.
Bowling pin! 🤣 I get it! Isn't it such a great feeling in the hot summer to NEVER deal with hair on your neck? And how it feels to have the breeze on your neck and swirling in your hair? I love that feeling so much. I do like to cut my hair then grow it out and explore all the hairstyles in between so I might let it grow from here, but I'm going to explore several fun shapes along the way.
@@unblahyourself Absolutely. My hair used to drip sweat from my neck when I had it long. I had to pin it up every day in the scorching summer to keep that from happening. And even on my pillows at night, I had to pull my hair up. Short hair is just wake up, run a brush through my hair and go! I can curl it and tie it into little ponytails if I want to get fancy, but otherwise, it's no stress and cool hairdo. Yeah, I will probably grow it out for the winter, but now it's my go-to for summers now that I know it can look and feel great and is so low maintenence.
Spot on with the neckline, shoulders, and feminine details! I have super short hair right now, and I find I need to stay on top of proper accessories and a bit of makeup to add keep me from looking like a little boy... especially when I am rocking a bit more of a tomboy look or an edgy style.
It's so true! I think way more about how I'm styled with short hair but it's so worth it. I love how it feels too. You know what's really fun though? Knowing that I'm choosing things everyday. Making intentional choices everyday is empowering....it wakes you up! *Choosing" extends to many more areas of my life. ❤ Thanks for being here!
I keep trying to take this skirt out of my closet because I don't wear it enough but it's TOO PRETTY and I put it back. Thank you for validating my bad decisions! 😂
I have had pixies for a number of years, but at the request of my SO, I am growing it to the length of yours. That's as long as I want to go! As I said before, I took pictures of your hair to show my stylist. I have discovered scarves and love wearing them. I have a long neck so they look really good, even with a t-shirt. BTW, I am 75 but starting to up my wardrobe game. Just because I'm old, doesn't mean I have to be dowdy!
This was SO incredibly helpful. I cut my hair recently, and all my clothes feel off. This really illustrated why and what I can do to like my style with short hair.
Well, I've seen you with longer hair and this cut is SO MUCH better on you! It really suits your features and you look much younger. I've ALWAYS wanted long hair, but it's too thin and doesn't look good when I try to grow it out. I cut it short and never thought I'd like it, but it really is liberating to not have to style it so much, like you do with longer hair. This is the perfect cut for you, abs everything looks great because it all goes with your haircut!!🥰
I have had short hair my entire adult life. Can’t wear a crew neck to save my life. After retirement I began to embrace the curls I didn’t know I had. It makes so much sense why I never fell fabulous in neutral staples! I like fun things with my fun hair. The staples make me look like an old woman. Thanks for reminding me to embrace my sassy side “all the time”!
Hello Diana, I think have found a new friend. I am an older woman widowed 5 years ago. You have a gift for unartifaced communication . Somehow you manage to gracefully bring vulnerability and wit together as you teach freedom to be you with j beautiful jois de vive. It speaks to the soul. Never lose that. Thank you.
I started to wear my hair short years ago and then I began to wear cool dangly earrings, necklaces and scarves all the time! You look fabulous with shorter hair!
Thank you so much for these Tips and Tricks. I cut my over the shoulder lenghts curly hair a few weeks ago and feel so much better! The long curls made me too sweet for my age and my style. And now I know what to wear the best 👍🏻
Thanks for talking about the cool girl because I love that look and it suits me best. I am definitely going to have to change my outfits tho, as I live in a small town and it really caused me to not care about my clothes :(. Much Appreciated. :)
I love your short hair! I’ve been trying to grow mine out and it always get to a certain length and I feel like it weighs my face down. I’d like to try a haircut like yours but I’m worried it won’t suit me. Love your style you are so fun🦋
I love your hair, your face, your energy, your fun, the way you are enjoying yourself ❤❤❤ your high class high value wiman vibe, this is all so beautiful to watch ❤
I’ve found that round neck garments do not suit my short hair, when I was younger I had a coat made with a high round neck and had to wear a colourful scarf with it.
You are a breath of fresh air! Love your channel and just signed up. Always had short hair most of my life. Thank you for being yourself and funny at the same time. Your style is fabulous.
Loved this video Diana! You gave me a whole new perspective on necklines with my shorter hair! PLUS you were obviously having fun doing what u were doing so subsequently I had fun watching! THANKs, I needed fun today!
You are very pretty! Now, I look more masculine without hair around my face, so I have always had long hair. My mother and all of her sisters didn't have the "feminine" gene, lol. But with make up I clean up nicely. Without make-up...bow wow.
This is the video I was looking for years ago! But I really couldn't find anything much. So thank you. Better late than never. Haha. The neckline examples are helpful, especially for those of us who are petite.
Hi, love your hair. I have shorter hair than yours and I do wear button down shirts however I have noticed that it looks so much more feminine if it’s not buttoned all the way up, therefore showing some skin, but not a lot. Also roll up the sleeves, that adds some edge. Just a thought.
Do you think the same advice could be taken also for tied up hair? I have long hair that I usually put up in a low bun, leaving just some medium length lateral strands
Short hair and earrings with movement. Long hair and moving earrings is just confusing. Thick shiny hoops and studs or anything stationary with long hair is stabilizing for the eye. Short hair with stationary earrings also works if they are very shiny, especially rounded, so they keep light moving around the face. I'm going to cut my hair off right now. Cheers.
I've had short hair for a long time but never realized why certain clothes look good and others don't. Thanks.
Short hair - go girlier and you're good to go! 😍
