I'm building a starter pc for my youngest siblings mostly for two player games like fighting games and co-op games there twins this is perfect thanks for the in depth review
I grabbed an Optiplex 5040 SFF with an i5-6400 and 8GB 1600MHz LP DDR3 for about $55 on eBay. Got it, upgraded the RAM by adding 16GB more RAM topping it up to 24GB, added an i7-6700K, a 256GB NVMe SSD and the RX 6400. It's a pretty decent little gaming PC. I use it in my living room to play Battlebit, Halo Infinite, etc. The 6400 really shines in games that are 2018 and older. Newer games CAN be played, not as well but they definitely are still good.
Very happy with my RX 6400, i only play a few games on the PC these days, Star Trek online being one, and this card does that with ease on top setings, and the card draws a insane low 53 watts and lower depending on the game, with my entire PC only drawing 101 watts while playing the game, very happy with hat in the insane time of ultra high lekky bills. Oh and all other gaming i do on the series S, another gaming device that again only draws up to 74 watts, so i have not had to give up gaming due to insane lekky bills, very happy with that.
With two monitors in use tied to my Dell OptiPlex 7070 and its i5-8500 CPU and Windows 11 Pro, the temperature would on and off exceed 60 C, and thus the fan would turn on and off as well. But to prevent this, I set the color setting to 8 bit rather than 12 bit on the second monitor, that being my TV. Now with both monitors using 8 bit, the fan is off all the time during general non gaming use, such as 1080p 60 fps YT use and Netflix use.
I'm new to PC gaming, thought I'd have to drop thousands of dollars to get into newer games. Bought an Optiplex 3040 with a 4th gen i5 and 16 GB of RAM with the RX 6400 Low Profile GPU. I tried playing the new Silent Hill 2 remake even though my specs were WAY under. Finished the game no problem on low tinkered settings and would have probably done medium settings on 720p in retrospect. I paid $325 for everything in total. If you're willing to make some graphical sacrifices, modern PC gaming is in reach.
This is awesome to learn! I have HP prodesk that has a I5 10500 and grabbed this gpu because some games on Dolphin were lagging like RE1R. I figured the 6400 would help with that but didn't know it would help this much. I'm actually shocked.
@@BigSparky1316 I don’t think there is currently a game released that won’t run at 40-60 fps on low-medium settings. I was getting 67fps consistently with high graphics settings on Forza Horizon 5. Thinking about getting one of these for an ITX build but they are still very expensive in the UK £144 roughly ($183USD)....Can't find any Intel ARC GPU's either without being ripped off.
Just bought this card for a exgoverment HP G6 800 (i7 10700) but I should have got a DDR6 version of the GTX1650 as my system is PCIe3 and the RX6400 only has 4 PCI lanes. The RX6400 can run at PCI 4 speeds but most of repurposed PC gear is still Gen 3 PCI. Some games the PCI 3 bandwidth limits have minimal impact.
I just got a HP 400 G7 SFF and just bought this card. When you install it is it just good to go after that? I had no idea it could play modern games I just got it for gamecube games emulation etc.

Yeah they are extremely expensive. They are alright GPUs but the RX 6400 beats the hell out of it in price to performance because it's so damn expensive.
Besides the loose of pcie 2 or 3 vs 4 that this gpu is very dependent on, you are getting massives CPU bottleneck in several games...switching to any i7 or similar xeon should improve some games ❤
It would be a marginal improvement over i5 4th gen. Basically is the same but with a 65w tdp instead of 80w. The i7 would be a real and noticeable improvement

you played fortnite too well and I'm inlcined to believe the FPS counter was really 88, because this gpu has no hardware encoding, meaning you have to use one of those difficult capture cards :D. That recording was messy because of that, right?
I have a Lenovo M720e with a gt 1030 2 gb ddr 5 that runs nice. Wanted a tiny gou boost so i bought a rx6400. Nice surprise my lenovo is limiting the gpu to 32 watts max confirmed this in the rx6400 driver under stress test. Renders this gpu useless..// caution ppl

It’s because the 6400 doesn’t have an onboard video encoder and he didn’t know that. You can see in clips he’s getting 60fps but it still looks like a clip show. That’s uploaders fault not the card.
