Wow! This was a blast from the past! Late 60's into the 70's - we used to add fabric panels into the outside seams of our jeans, from below the knee down. I usually used floral patterns, but I also used a sort of psychedelic orange and pink print once, too. I loved those big bells on my jeans! Blessings all!!!! 🏵️🌺
Yes reminded me of that style ...Im happy to see the new way with this idea from the past and that its on trend as i have 30 years of jeans that Id like to remould was just checking out how. ..blessings you too 🌼flowers forever
Yes I’m loving it. As many pair of jeans every woman gas in their closet that are worn out but just comfortable. Now we know what to do with them. Thanks so much, your great.
I was taught to sew over the pins as well, in home economics class. I still too this day do it. As long as they're in sideways, it rarely makes a difference. Love this funky DIY Orly, it's fabulous! Another homerun! XO
Loved the way you handled the try on sponsorship-wish more you tubers handlesnit that way! Not “I love them,I love them ,they’re the best in the world “ and it feels like lies, instead it’s “ I appreciate their sponsorship, here’s the stuff that worked, here’s a few changes i made “ no outlandish promises...appreciate the honesty & I share your channel with friends because of it.... well, and because of the awesome diys!
Really happy to see a sewing machine. I’m not a huge fan of the fabric glue techniques. I know not everyone has a sewing machine, but I bet most that try your ideas do. Btw, I also sew over my pins! Thanks for sharing!
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
I’m not new but I love your channel. I’m going back on all your videos to see what I’ve missed. Thank you for all your inspiration and motivation to step out of my box and recreate. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
This is the tutorial I have been searching for! Thank you for going into the detail about how to lay the pieces in so that it fits naturally. Do you have any tips for finishing the seam allowances inside after trimming away the excess fabric?
Love these. I’ve seen other DIY’ers doing similar looks and I love them all!! Since they were doing something similar at fashion week means I can see how these pants could be casual or dressy casual.
Simply the best.......that would be you......👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I have been collecting all my jeans for a while now......cutting up the inner seams and using the real estate. My thrift store finds have been awesome.......I buy the largest sizes I find.......works well here, they always get left behind anyway........ Now.........your post is right on time.........let the fun begin....... Once again........you have given us a d.i.y........that’s a 💯 Love your posts......... 🌹❤️🌹
I'm curious if adding the panel to the outer side seam would look good. And maybe, adding lace fabric on top of the panel would have an interesting contrast.
I have no problem watching you see over your pins! When I use pins, I pay them the way way so that I can see over them. Granted, I don't just pins all the time... Long, straight seams, or fabric with Right sides that stick together, are my favorites, and don't need pins.
I don't know if you're into going to thrift stores but that's where you'll find wide-leg jeans for a great price. It's great that they're coming back in style. Love them!
Love how they turned out! I especially loved your t-shirt & necklace combination today ~ so pretty ~ I know you made that necklace & it’s so flattering w/ that shirt! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video as always. Agree with some of the comments regarding Shein as the sponsor. It's not just an environmental issue but as a successful female entrepreneur please also think about the mostly female workers that are exploited by these fast fashion companies. Can only recommend the movie 'The true cost' which was a real eye opener for me. xo from the home country of H&M ;)
We get this on Saturday morning here in Australia & it's the first channel I go to, have to see what you have come up with this week, love your channel
I want to make these. Now you have me thinking about jean shorts. I bought a vintage Hawaiian shirt and didn’t realize it had a tear. I want to figure how to use the shirt and add it to a pocket on the shorts.
Thank you for this! Can you do a video of how to increase the waist size on mens Jeans? My husband has a ton of old work jeans and I want to repurpose them to fit me. I'm going for the boyfriend/ baggie Jean look.
I love these jeans! Great Job. I also like that you are wearing that safety pin necklace, the one that you said you dont wear much due to the color, I love it!
Thanks you Orly! I Just bought some skinny Levis £15 on amazon....a bargain BUT I want them to be straight legs so I am colour matching an old pair of jeans. I was thinking how best to do it, after watching your video I have a better idea. I may even use a darker colour instead of colour matching.
In the 70s we would flag our jeans which was similar. It was on the outer leg seam, no raw edges and always hemmed. Raw edges were not in at all! So, of course I like what you've done here! Sweet jeans!
Omg love the final look! And the pink/red heels! Curious how you managed to sew up the panels so easily on the machine? Like how'd you not sew the pant shut? 😅
Cool, cool....I remember back in the '90's we would take our Jean shorts, cut the outer seam and insert a panel of fun floral fabric (remember Laura Ashley was big then), a cool belt, crop top and sneakers, paired with a "I didn't even try attitude" ....done!! Ah, the good ol' days😎
Girl love that ya got a sponsor!!! Understand ya need them BUT I think you could do better. Will still support you. Know how important a sponsor is!!! Thanks for focus on jewelry and making it your own.
I will admit I dress like a prude. My Mother dresses flasher than I do and bugs me all the time about how I dress. Not everyone lives in L.A. Short dresses, deep vees aren't everyone's taste. Cuz when you do your vids you dress normal like. I do enjoy your vids. Just mentioning it.
Hi! I loved watching you on Home and Family, I have my first sewing machine and learning how to use "you tube" found your video 🎉🎉! I loved my wife leg jeans back in the day! Thanks for sharing!! Oh say hi to Kameron!!
Great job, as always.. Would’ve preferred an even hem but that’s just me.. Not a fan of Shein .. but the jewelry was nice..Best wishes and continued success 😉
Hi Orly, this one was mind-blowing! I can see myself doing this! Hey I am wondering if you would do a video on custom-embellishing those wide cross body straps that Zak Zak Posen and now Zara have for $$$$. We can buy the plain straps on Ebay or Etsy, but then the flowers, applique's, I'm kind of lost.. Thank you for all your great and inspiring content!
@Ericca Scott that's a good shout thank you didn't think about that. I will try on very old jeans that l use for painting first then move a step up just so I'm confident. But thanks hun! Much appreciated 😘...x
I just found your chnel and subscribed right away.... question, I got this leather pants at a thrift store but they're big, I try to use my regular sewing machine but it didn't work, can I do it by hand, take them to a cobbler? Please and thanks

If you ever read the comments I hope you find my comment Orly. I tried your DIY bow shoes, the DIY for the black Jimmy Choo bow heels it came out to be fantastic. Your DIY's are definitely amazing and worthy to be tried. My shoes look gorgeous now

I l❤️ this video as we got a 2 for 1! For the 1st half I loved the double screen showing how the piece looked on the model, and then how you styled and/or altered it. It was a little 2 fast for me because I didn’t have enough time to see the difference in most of the ones that were altered. Can you do another one, showing the alterations for a longer time, so we can take it all in? Oops, pun unintended! TY! ❤️

Did this with one pair of jeans to make shorts with a wider leg and it worked really well! Super fun too!

I absolutely love hearing someone else say Oma ,lol reminds me I'm not alone.
Twisted Frannie that’s so funny, “oma” is Dutch for grandma! I never knew Americans used it as well!

totally!!

This a great and more simple way of getting the 2 tone blue jeans look. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.
Oh yeahhh, another home run Orly!!! I’m going to do this one too. I moved and CANT WAIT to have my sewing machine here and unpacked.

this a great tutorial thank you! very easy to understand what's being done and why. gonna try to out with some shorts that a bit too tight for me!
I really miss wide leg and flared jeans, never liked skinny jeans!
Sorry!!! We come from different eras. LOVE MY CIG LEGS!!! That's what they were called in the day!!!

Add to the side seams instead of the inseam. That way it adds more to the waist and legs and gives that look. Xo
Every look was PHENOM!!! But I really CRAVE the accessories!!!! I’m buying it all!!! Lol. Love your DIYS!!!

Omg love the final look! And the pink/red heels! Curious how you managed to sew up the panels so easily on the machine? Like how'd you not sew the pant shut? 😅
You have to be able to take that little extension part off of the machine is its smaller. then your jeans can fit around that.
