question you open 5 boxs and what would you say the mythic ratio in the set are, usely i get 3-4 mythic per box but on this set i got 12 and i wanna know if its normal, i can always name the mythic i got from my set boosters to verify 12 mythic
It’s beginning to look like that’s average. We got less than $30 in value in two boxes as well, and the folks at our lgs said people have been pretty unhappy so far. Seems there are some good cards in the set, but at much lower frequency than in the past.
Prof I haven't watched one of these in a while so it may have happened a while ago, but I must say that the switch to lo-fi style music is so refreshing. Thank you
fr. this set is pretty nuts...i hit ravagan, sheolred whispering one in 1 pack + a rare, then elesh norn grand cenolite + a battle mythic. and in the other packs i then hit MOM elesh norn, and sheolred, Elspeth, wrenn.... there was 14 mythics.
Absolutely in love with this channel. I played MTG between 1994 and 1999, and I found my old 'vintage' MTG collection a few months ago and got nostalgic. I really want to dip my toes into the TCG's again. I already have two LCG's but trading cards has always been something dear and near to me when I was growing up. The only thing is that I am completely overwhelmed with over 23 years of expansions and don't even know where to begin to become relevant again with my collection. Serious FOMO here. My old card collections, though worth a penny or two, seems ancient and obsolete compared to all the new powerful cards and mechanics that came after I left the scene. Commander seems like a lot of fun, but it's hard to get two other card game enthusiasts to sit down and play. I am even considering to leave MTG in the past and step into Flesh and Blood instead. Anyway, love the content.
Cards from 94-99 can have some serious value! If you haven’t already, I would look into that before doing anything else. 1 old card could fund an entire new collection for you!
I recommend arena to dip your toes back into it and learn where ever gotten since your time and find out what you like these days. They're are plenty of prebuilt decks they offer for specific formats or you can go for it with making your own.
At 59:48, when the Faerie Mastermind Foil was pulled, the amount didn't go up. Wouldn't have mattered in the end, but each box was above or within $5 of $120. Pretty amazing set.
@@davidhowell1415 I think outside of the serialized art of the praetors I would agree. Hell I actually prefer the Elesh Norn regular art to all other variations that aren't serialized. I don't care for the black and white style.
That's Japan printed product - set boosters in this set. MotM draft boosters and collector boosters are US or Belgium printed aka the good stuff in the back.
I get people complain about everything, but the $2 threshold is generous in my view. The margins for cards are so slim that many commercial card sellers avoid buying singles to resell at such a low value. Many prefer to move in bulk to cut down on costs and improve returns. I like the $2 rule.
I just got my Kickstarter deck boxes in today and they are beautiful. The quality is fantastic and I can't wait until my next tcg binge to put them to use!!

You've been using set booster boxes on, I think, about a year now. Have you considered doing a head-to-head game of a draft box vs set box? Maybe the value would be a wash, but maybe it's worth noting how much chaff is in each?

Just opened a MOTM set booster at work today, Sword of feast and famine list slot, Thalia etched foil multiverse slot, new Temur commander and Thalia Gitrog monster for rare slots. Safe to say Im satisfied with pack openings for this set
Should buy bundles instead dropping insane list card rate mine was 50% list card per pack so 4 out of 8 packs had list slot. Some folks on youtube getting 7 list cards in a bundle.
I went to this prerelease on my bday, played Abzan with Thalia and the Gitrog Monster (one 1/4 rounds 😅) and then opened a showcase Elesh Norn in my prize pack, so it was a great day!
Masterworks/Multiverse Legends are definitely one of the best additions to the sets. Not only it feels better to crack the packs, but their price tank for a good while, making them a lot more affordable.
Oh for sure dude. I got a 40 cent Teysa karlov , and a few bucks for a grimgrin. And sheoldred Vorinclex and Jin gitaxias for like 5 bucks each! People are shredding these packs looking for ragavan

Chilling out to the songs, and then when I hear that _cha-ching_ sound, I might pop my eyes over and see if it's a good pull. Can't wait for you to vehemently criticize the prices for The Lord of the Rings and Commander Masters when those come around!... Despite the recent trends with WOTC, I was surprised at how lucky I was with some pulls for MOM. I only ever grab maybe a box and _if it's of a reasonable enough price..._ a bundle or gift edition bundle, but with just the one box so far with MOM I was able to get quite a lot of Masterpieces i'll actually use, Elesh Norn, Sheoldred, Teferi, and a handful of other rares i'll actually put in some decks. I'll say it again, *I GOT LUCKY.* Never forget that this is basically an addiction, so only buy boxes and packs if you can afford it and have a reason to/want to open packs or play with friends. As Prof says, buy singles when you need to, don't go in blind and hope you get what you want and more, it never happens.

I love opening boxes and challenging myself to build a Commander deck with as many of the cards from it as possible. My favorite so far was pulling Myrrim and making a Temur Dragon Tribal deck.
That's what me and my husband end up doing a lot of the time. When you've been casually collecting over 10-15 years going back through the bulk gets tedious, so 'set building' a deck is a bit more manageable, and its fun to gloat to each other who got what. . .though we got a lot of duplicates between us this set. . .still had fun.
Did not one else notice during box 5 they didn't add the foil faerie total before was 56.66 and it didn't move up the 8.43 that they showed for its price.......????!!!!! Lol
At the 59:49 mark you appear to have opened a foil faerie mastermind, put it as the highest valued card in the box so far (8.43) but failed to add that to your total. Unless I missed something?

Me and my friend split a box for the set and managed to get like 300 CAD worth of value compared to the 180 paid. I pulled two Norns, two skittles and a mycosynth lattice, and that was just cards over 20 CAD. I love this set
This set might me more forgiving for this game because we have uncommons going for over 2 bucks with good chances that every pack gets at least a 50% return
Almost think you should track total value and each box tries to reach the next multiple. That first box would have carried you a way further because it was so good
also for 100 to go to 120. its within reason. given the economy and to maintain profits. after all its not a charity. Set boosters also have much better hit rates. so more interesting to watch.

I got like 50 from 2 boxes combined
Had friends buy 3 boxes and draft them, all 3 made profit.
I think it's partly the effect of the 3 year rotation change. The meta can't be shakenup as much without the rotation,

I honestly prefer the base non foil version of cards now, they actually seem to be rarer than the fancy versions

Yeah, what that other guy said. All the boosters I've opened so far have had the rares and foil in the back, not the front.
I like it, I skip through the commons or give a quick gander at the commons. But really they’re usually not all that impressive.
