Not to mention I pulled not ONE but TWO Atraxa's from the boxes I've gotten. There's honestly an INSANE amount of value in Phyrexia: All will be one.

Dang, my bundle had an old gnawbones, sword of war and peace, sword of forge and frontier, tyvar showcase foil, mental mistep foil, and a seachrome coast.
Singles are often a better way to support your local game store. Since they buy cards they normally earn a higher profit on those cards. The mark up on mtg boxes is so slim that its profit isn't typically as high as the singles.
It's Elesh Norn/Atraxa or bust now, with Atraxa performing too well (you can redraw a whole hand just on it's ability) and was subject to a buy-out. 🤷♂ I instead opted just for a PR kit and drew an Elesh Norn (so the one card covered the value for the whole kit) and preordered the Compleat Bundle just for the textured lands.
I’m 33 and I get the reference from the intro, but only because they referenced it in Ninja Turtles 3 Turtles in Time and I loved Ninja Turtles as a kid. I don't feel bad about buying boosters this set. I was really hoping for elesh norn of course. But I still got some nice cards to make some fun unique poison decks, so I don't feel bad. Getting mondrak helps too.
This set has insane value. I split a set booster with a buddy. We got 7 mythics. Showcase vraska, blightsteel colossus, sword of feast and famine, showcase Phyrexia obliterater, mondrak, tyrranax Rex, and one more I can’t remember. We spent about 115 on the box.
My last set box was dominaria united and it was like $40 of value. I'll still buy a collector box and draft box to draft here and there, but no more set boxes.
I'm really curious to see the March of the Machine booster box game, with the upcoming changes to mythic rarity and such. It'll likely hammer home the Prof's message of "buy singles."
I kind of can't believe Phyrexian Arena is a $2 card now. I think more than anything that's evidence that if it isn't on the reserved list or an original printing, and it isn't in a deck, sell it now before the inevitable crush of reprints destroys the value.
Or as quite a few people have argued, it’s just not that great of a card these days since you have to wait a full cycle to even draw 1 card. Black has plenty of 2-3 cmc draw cards at the cost of a bit of life for 2 cards right away and maybe an effect.
@@swrodgon It's also pretty innocuous on the board and most people don't consider it worth a removal spell until you've already gained a lot of value from it. I don't know why it's fallen so out of favor, I think people have started underrating it.

I kind of want to see the professor play one of these boosterbox games with the MTG summit playmat he is on in the back ground. It was really cool meeting him and a lot of the other MTG creators in person.
Bro I relate to the "I've fallen and I can't get up" thing... Like never before.
Apparently Atraxa is worth $60! Glad your luck turned around. Thanks for playing!
I fully expected this video to go on forever with the value of this set
is that sarcasm?
If yes its not obvious
Elesh Norn or bust! And thanks for that reference I got near the beginning. I feel so old😬
Yes I was soooo looking forward to this thanks Prof!
My pleasure!
@@TolarianCommunityCollege Btw love the new top card addition in the top right corner really good idea! 👍
List cards are nuts in this set. Pulled a Goldspan Dragon and an Old Gnawbones out of my set box.
I've opened 7 set booster boxes and pulled 1 Elesh Norn, 1 Ichor Gauntlet, 1 Obliterator. 6 of the 7 were from a sealed case. If not for the Norn, whose value has dipped below 40, this would have stopped at box 1.
When it’s actually Thursday, February 16.
Got a few collector boxes. Prob gonna hodl for a bit. This set feels so important.
Honestly I am never gonna forget the time that I bought a booster box AND IN THE SAME PACK I got a blightsteel colossus, AND ELESH NORN right after the other, ON TOP of the phyrexian obliterator. Not to mention I pulled not ONE but TWO Atraxa's from the boxes I've gotten. There's honestly an INSANE amount of value in Phyrexia: All will be one.
Do you think you get there on some boxes if you sell every card?
I love watching this at 2x speed, they're so satisfying!!
Some of the music sounds excellent at double speed, especially the one at around 5 minutes! I wonder, was that done on purpose?
I feel so old seeing a foil planeswalker going into the bulk bin. They always used to hold value.
I got the reference, and I'm only 27 prof....
Same
I got a booster box a couple of days ago for $130 and within the first 7 packs I pulled Elesh norn, and atraxa, then proceeded to make back the rest of the box’s cost and then some
I genuinely want the new Vraska for my infect deck and I still didn't know about this alternate art for her. I'm both blown away and disappointed in Wizards for having so many alternate treatments that I entirely missed one I NEED to have
Ooof good lord. I got really lucky with my box... Foil mythic - Elesh norn and some other really kick ass cards, totalled 5-6 mythics. YMMV with this one.
I did enjoy watching you play! Thanks! I also enjoyed buying singles from the set!!!
All Will Be One has so many great cards for a non-premium set. I bought a couple boxes too.
the music was absolutely bussin this video
It's Elesh Norn/Atraxa or bust now, with Atraxa performing too well (you can redraw a whole hand just on it's ability) and was subject to a buy-out. 🤷♂
I instead opted just for a PR kit and drew an Elesh Norn (so the one card covered the value for the whole kit) and preordered the Compleat Bundle just for the textured lands.
I’m 33 and I get the reference from the intro, but only because they referenced it in Ninja Turtles 3 Turtles in Time and I loved Ninja Turtles as a kid. When Donatello said “Help, I’m a turtle and I can’t get up!” My mom laughed. I didn’t get the reference, so she had to explain it to me. That’s how I was initiated. I was probably 4 or 5 at the time. :D
If you speed up the music that starts playing at 25:20 to 1.25 speed, it sounds soooooooooooo much better.
kinda unrelated but, i just had the jitterbug jingle ringing in my head, thanks prof haha
The music reminds me of old-school Final Fantasy games.
I feel that set boosters have gotten a lost worst recently.
I use to open them and get a couple of rares or something now it just feels like an over expensive draft booster.
Very weird.
It's amusing watching this a week later when Atraxa has gone up like 1000%
New to these and they are fun! Ever go to game nights in Portland?
man, i turned 21 today and when you said “if you get that reference you are probably 40” it really sunk in LMAO
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday dude
aw thank you guys :)
When a magic the gathering content creator first mentions factor my mind immediately finishes the ad with fiction. Such is the tragedy when you constantly play against blue
opened my first box today and got a phyrexian vindicator, another phyrexian vindicator but borderless, urtet, atraxa, nissa ascended, sword of feast and famine, drivnod, staff of compleation. 7 mythics in one box so not bad
I almost thought they got the professor with a hot pocket ad but it was a Factor ad.
I got that reference and I'm 36. Well played, Sir.
quick question for the veterans: I got my set booster display today and the upper half of the plastic wrap is missing the wizard logo. I'm from EU and the shop I got it from is rated as highly trustworthy. Anything I should be concerned about?
I don't feel bad about buying boosters this set. I was really hoping for elesh norn of course. But I still got some nice cards to make some fun unique poison decks, so I don't feel bad. Getting mondrak helps too.
Fun fact: if you press fast forward just as prof rips the pack open, you usually end up at the beginning of the rare slot each pack
Funny how that Atraxa showcase foil has gone up in price! Definitely worth more now!
That’s just the mythics. We got a venerated rotators, mycosynth gardens, mercurial spelldancer… all 5 or more dollar cards I believe
Ok maybe I stole all your luck. Your first box was sad :(
Man, they really sent you a box of bulk rares on that first box.
Just imagine what the value of the third box if it had the current atraxa prices. The pair of them would have covered the whole box
Called out by the "I've fallen and I can't get up!" Not quite 40 yet, but close.
