I don't understand why the Honda VTX 1800 is not on here, but I got mine delivered to my shop in Chattanooga Tennessee. The Guy was 4⅐ hours away in a little part of Alabama. I bought the bike and even give the guy a hundred dollar bill for gas. I have a total of $3,600 in it and it's only got 22,000 original miles on it. I am the second owner and I just changed the oil for the third time in it's life time.
I've got a 1800c . Stripped 172 .7 lbs off of it . It's was a blast stock , but now it's just a beast . Dropped the heavy exhaust, cut off every bracket not structural, cut of rear pegs , saved 15lbs by going with a set of cnc aluminum controls , solo seat , cut 75% of the fenders off , switch housings gone , ignition is gone ( just a little 2 oz switch now) saved 11lbs by going with a lithium battery, aluminum pegs , put lightweight aluminum spoke wheels on it and many other heavy weight crap off and gone. Oh , and I also personally lost 50 lbs myself ,215 down to 165 ish. Next I'm looking for a small shot of nitrous , if I can figure out how much this engine can handle without blowing up.
Love that the Vulcan S 650 is kicking it on a list with some absolute beasts. Goes to show that even though its very beginner friendly its still a great bike for all levels.
got mine with a aprovic exhaust and a corbin seat the bike sounds incredible and is much comfier, its honestly a blast to own, when I make some cash the next bike id go with is probably the scout just because of how pretty it looks and the extra horses But If I could get my hands on one tho I REALLY want a victory OCTANE those things are just amazing@@KC-he6kc
Haven't taken it yet, but I just got a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Mean Streak. I'm excited. I looked at a Rocket 3 Classic, but I didn't fit on it properly.
Man, it's sad that it is a rare occurrence to see the 3rd generation Honda Magnas mentioned on any list. 12.5 1/4 mile, 4.5 0-60, dirt cheap and reliable, smooth and able to take a corner, always left behind on lists because it is a 750cc V4. Love that bike
Shawn, hope spelled that right? Just found out a few moments ago that SRK is closing the doors today. First off i beg to differ with you regarding your comment about you in not being a good orator I got one thing your speaking skills are fantastic! In addition to your speaking skills I think rather that it's just your personality that gets an A+. I have found you to be the only motorcycle man I care to listen to. I want to thank you for the many things I have learned listening to you.
The honda vtx1800 should definitely be there, its the one that started it all! In 1999, it was the largest displacement production V-twin in the world. And it is fast!
Vmax 1700 is on my short list of bikes I will own in the future. Thanks for putting this together! The Valkyrie is an awesome motorcycle and affordable!
The VTX 1800 is a great bike to flip, as well. Found a T model, guy wanted $3k. Talked him down to $2k. Old guy, original owner, in much too bad of shape to ride anymore. The bike needed some TLC after sitting for a couple years. Had bags and a wonderfully comfortable Mustang seat. Replaced brake pads, tires, fuel pump, and all new fluids. About 6 to 8 hours of cleaning/polishing wheels and chrome. Had about $700 and 12-15 hours of work into it. Sold it for $5300. Was a nice flip, but kind of wish I kept that bike. Was a great cruiser.
I have a 2004 V2k with about 47k miles. I was going to be disappointed if it didn’t make this list! Thing is a monster! Fast and comfortable and doesn’t feel as heavy as it is…
G'day mate, I haven't owned a cruiser yet, but if I do get the urge, at least there are some fun/fast options. More bike shops should you tube like yourself. I am sure it increases your business in the U.S.A. Aussie bike shops should get onto it. Love the vids, keep up the good work. Cheers Ant.
Flat Six, I never heard it called that before but makes total sense. I've always called it the boxer engine, and they're phenomenal. Some of the most reliable engines are flat six, like Subaru and Goldwing. I'd take the Valkyrie of all of those, for longevity.
Completely agree with you on the valkyrie having a sick note with the six in six. I'm looking to get one eventually. Only being 5'5" on a good day, they sure are intemidating up close haha
Dude, my wife of 41 years rides. Her first scooter was a Kawasaki 800 V-Twin with a 36 tooth rear sprocket. 10 hr putts @ 80 mph....no problem. Then she bought a 2006 HD Deluxe. Now her favorite scooter of all, '96 HD Springer FX. When we bought it in 2010 it dynode @ 120 HP. It Was fast! In 2014 the factory computer with rev limiter (5500rpm) failed and I put old school points & condenser in. Wow, this Ladies bike has no rev limit. @ 7 or 8,000 rpm it must be pulling 140-150 HP. And bud she knows how to ride fast including reverse steering. She really turns me on. Out here on the Left Coast you could always find us going to Ventura riding side by side holding hands @ 80 mph down I-5. Love your tube & Love your prayers brother. Be Blessed
If anyone has gone this far, let it be known that we are a Virtuous husband and wife to Jesus and to each other, and we have been bikers all our lives. Jesus forgave us for our mistakes from our outlaw dayz. He can and will for you if you ask for Him to. Love Us
Seems you overlooked the Suzuki Marauder (Kawasaki Mean Streak) 1600, plenty of power, looks, styling down to the 6 puck front calipers borrowed from the Hayabusa. Dirt cheap and easy to maintain. Great vid. Thumbs up.
Badly want the Indian but must admit the 650 Vulcan had never been on my radar but after seeing you mention them multiple times, it being affordable, fast, and a good looking bike they definitely haven't attention now.
Sean, as other commenters have stated, you seriously dropped the ball on this one by not even mentioning the VTX 1800. I don't think there's a better bargain out there for under $5k.
Top of the DAY. A good mention the honda MAGNA'S , VTX1800. My $3000 VF750CD MAGNA with VANCE AND HINES exhaust system, DYNATEC 3000 cdi , K & N air filter, 17tooth front sprocket, vfr750r carburetors. DESTROY MY VTX1800F AND MOST of the BIKES in your comparison.
V45 Magna is very quick and not too heavy at 500lb. V65 is an absolute animal, but heavier and higher seat height. Both can be had well under $5k. Of the bunch, I personally prefer the 85-86 VF700C and you can get a mint one for under $2k. Best bargain out there and seriously under-appreciated bikes. Also watch out for Ducati Diavel prices coming down. They can be had for $7k now and put every bike on this list to shame. Absurdly fast bikes.
My '04 yamaha roadstar warrior cost me $2,900! Came with 2 seats, a battery tender, and a new Bridgestone front tire(unmounted) and I guarantee it will keep up! 🤨👀💯💥
Yeah...My Scout is a bit more than $5k, but it is so damned light, and has a great power band. It's definitely not the fastest, but it's got it where it counts...and does it in style. 😎
I just bought a 2005 Honda VTX 1800F for $5000 and love it. The power is impressive. 101 hp and 117 ft lbs of torque. Really thought it would be on this list. Oh well, the lists of 100 greatest guitar players never includes Billy Strings.
This is one hell of a list. Are these bikes still made in 2022? (Anyone) I've had supersports for years. But these bikes look beautiful and are changing my mind. Thank you
Ive been in love with the thought of riding for a long time but now even more my brother had dreams of starting a bike club within our family its all he talked about and its the one thing that made him truly happy he would tell me get a bike bro we have to ride i was the only one without a bike. Well he was killed on the second of August in a shooting and i never got the chance to ride with him we are keeping his original logo concept but now will call it johnnys riders in memory of him but unfortunately i lost my job do to a work injury soo i didnt have the funds to buy a bike at the time and ride with him and its one of my biggest regrets. Recently i was givin his helmet and i js look at it daily and i say one day bro i js wanna ride i js wanna feel some peice of my brother again im js asking for help i feel like god brang me to your channel for a reason bcz at this moment im falling apart with him being gone. Im js asking if there is any chance that u have a bike that u do not use? Or maybe something i can work for u to own? i js wanna ride for him thats all and i realize this is a long shot but i js dont know what to do anymore i js keep praying and begging god for some form of an angel to help me get through all this.. Anyways thank u for what u do brother god bless u and everything u do and i hope this message reachs you some how..
What you should do is call him. Google SRKCYCLES and call him or email him. You could also send this message to him in a new video of his not a 1 year old video. He might see it
Let's give the Rocket 3 some love here. It's faster than any of the bikes on the video (except the Vmax, which isn't a cruiser anyway) and there's plenty of them for less than $5000.
My buddy has the smaller engine m90... that thing scraps pegs during casual rides on twisty roads. If the roads off camber your practically going to be forced to sub speed limits just so your foot peg wont be turned to dust.
I've got an 08 I bought new, it's a monster with bolt on mods and I have no issues carving corners. It's rock solid on high speed sweepers unless you're a rookie.
I have a motorcycle review magazine from when the Valkyrie was released and in the specifications, it stated the 0-60 on the stock Valkyrie was 3.7 seconds, not the mid 4's. On the cover, it also shows the valkyrie going down the highway doing a wheelie. I was read the six into six Cobra pipes made the bike lose about 10hp. I don't know how your bike sounds like a formula one. My Valkyrie, and everyone I've heard sounds like my 1970 Dodge Charger 500 with dual glass pack mufflers on it. Very basset. I love my Cobra pipes.
If you are going to include the Indian Scout then you should include the Triumph Rocket III. With a three cyclinder 140.0 cu/in motor (3 litre) it is the largest capacity production motorcycle. It is Briddish.
Agreed, the Octane is slightly faster stock, it might weigh less as well. Great video, but definitely forgot to mention the Victory Octane as well as pretty much all the variations of the Honda Magna.
I ride the Kawasaki Vulcan S with abs. I absolutely love it. Yes they are an ergofit bike. Fast out of the gate and stamina. Comfortable, nimble and LIGHT.
Hi Sean. The Indian Scout is what the HD Sportster should have been. Test rode a Scout. Then test rode a Sportster 48. liked the Sportster much more. Ended up with a 2019 Fat Boy. No regrets.
@@anthonysilvestri4946 that would probably be the smart choice. My issue is, I don’t want a bike that I cannot use on the highway to commute, and or something I will get bored with fairly quickly. Also, I don’t believe in the resale market enough to buy such a small bike.
@@gregryan1149 Used Shadow 750s can be found all day in decent shape for around $2500 - and there will ALWAYS be another beginner rider looking for a starter bike...
@@gregryan1149 Craigslist but watch out for bikes that were abused or not taken care of (left out in the rain, etc) or on CycleTrader.com - they have better examples but might cost a little more, worth it tho IMO
I rode a 2020 demo scout and I found the seating poster way too close to a sportbike in my opinion. Power was super smooth and shifting was relatively smooth other than 1st and 2nd gear, those are a little rough like most other bikes. I also found the suspension a little jarring even for minor bumps in the road(and im also young!) other than that, with a few upgrades the bike would be completely awesome.
@bob marley Because they are very uncomfortable to ride. They look cool but after a while when you are riding and nobody is around to show it off too. you are just stuck with a bike that you can't wait to get off of.
Had a Victory Octane and loved it. Would have kept it if I didn't need the money. Sucker was quick and had a maintenance schedule that read like a cars.
If you ever get a Kawasaki ZL1000 in, not the 900 Eliminator, let me know. I wanted one since the came out in 87, I was 17 years old. I can still remember the magazine ad picture and headline “0 - 60 mph in 2.2 seconds.” Yeah baby! The MAX is was and is still king though, and I own a 2014 MAX, but I am nostalgic and want a ZL1000.
Well, my 1995 1400 Intruder, has awesome overtaking power, don't have any of that windshield, luggage and all that kind of crap on it,naked bike, have it for 17 years, the most I've ever spent on it in one go was 300euros for a new regulator.
@@YouMotorcycle do you think the night rod would be a good 2st bike choice? I know it's a powerful bike like the m109 but I'm 6'4 and 235lbs and looking for something that I can grow into. A friend of mine tells me no matter how powerful the bike, you ultimately control how much power you give it with the throttle. I'd hate to buy a smaller bike like a 650 and once I get some experience, have to sell it just to get a new bike all over again
I always liked them. When I traded in my Vulcan s I’m for a street glide they had one and I wanted to buy it lol but I didn’t. I think it was around $6k
@@pbarre79 my buddy started on a breakout. He said go big or go home. Well he crashed it once and laid it down 3 times in one year. I would say New I would go for a smaller bike to get experience but it’s your choice. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Man the Vulcan s punches above its weight class. Bike makers need to put more sportbike engines in cruiser chassis like they used to, they should bring back the eliminator and magna lines.
Sheesh! Five grand?! Sorry, but I don't have that kind of spare change, so I decided to learn how to rebuild carbs. Then I picked up a V-65 for $300 that had been sitting for 23 years. A month later, I was riding around on it. Sold that and bought an old KZ1300 for $200 (also not running), and was riding it after a couple months. Sold that, and was recently given (free!!) a ZL1000 Eliminator that had been parked with fuel in it for 14 years. The fuel made its way into the crankcase which made for an interesting (messy) oil change and, like the others, required complete carb rebuilds. Anyone can do this and save literally thousands of duckets while blasting around on bikes with over 100 horsepower!
Same here Actually I have four VN2000's The 2004 Rogue is the one that goes the hardest out of them all, and looks the meanest. The other three are Classic LT's 2007, 2008, 2009 Just love them, they pull harder than a schoolboy
3:56 LOL, F1 car, you nailed it. Let's say I wanted to back off the power a little and do tight turns and add a passenger for cruising, is there one for that?
I traded my Vulcan 650S for a used 1250cc Nightrod. Felt like the Vulcan had to search for power in 4rth and 5th in traffic.... never have that issue with the HD. My other bike is a Honda CB1000r, btw.... I'm not a traditional HD guy at all.
I'm glad the scout atleast made it into the video. You're right they can't be had for under 5k but in a few more years surely they will be. I have a 2020 scout bobber and it is a ton of fun 🤘. I've got some videos of it on my channel.
To contextualize the insanity of the VMax, when it was released in 1985 it had 145 hp. A 1985 Mustang GT had 210 hp. Imagine if someone came out with a 320 hp cruiser today, it would be f***ing nutty.
The VROD's engine was not designed by Porsche. Harley Davidson designed the engine and Porsche helped them perfect the cooling system because they were having problems with cooling and reliability issues. The VROD engine is originally based on the VR1000 engine.
I don't understand why the Honda VTX 1800 is not on here, but I got mine delivered to my shop in Chattanooga Tennessee. The Guy was 4⅐ hours away in a little part of Alabama. EXACTLY RIGHT JUST PROVES BIAS OPINION
I worked the Suzuki demo rides at Daytona Bike week a few year's ago. Everytime the M109 didn't have a rider I got on it. What a blast to ride.
Everyone always overlooks the vtx 1800. Killer bikes, insanely reliable, $3,000 can get you a decent one.
I had that in my last video. Your right it’s an amazing bike, and a huge power house
Honda vtx is a dream bike. Awesome machine.

Gen 3 Magna is just a great bike with good looks and pretty comfy. It can also handle some curves.
The Victory Octane had to have just missed the list. Such a sweet bike.
I was kind of bummed they had the Scout as an almost, but no Octane.
Which is total crap, as I have yet to have a Scout stay with me off the line...
a defunct brand now. I wouldnt touch a victory for lack of support.
Agreed, the Octane is slightly faster stock, it might weigh less as well. Great video, but definitely forgot to mention the Victory Octane as well as pretty much all the variations of the Honda Magna.
Stratoliner and roadliner gotta be in the top ten... Great attention getting video though 😉
The triumph rocket shouldve made this list you can find them for 5k and a 0 to 60 in 3 sec range..
I ride the Kawasaki Vulcan S with abs. I absolutely love it. Yes they are an ergofit bike. Fast out of the gate and stamina. Comfortable, nimble and LIGHT.
1st. Time viewer, not too shabby, keep up the ( waynes world voice ) " Excellent " work/ job. 😎
Hi Sean. The Indian Scout is what the HD Sportster should have been. Test rode a Scout. Then test rode a Sportster 48. liked the Sportster much more. Ended up with a 2019 Fat Boy. No regrets.
That’s very interesting the fat boy are the best
I had an 85 suzuki madera. loved it!!
Your vids are getting better and better.
Great information. I’m a man in my 40’s who’s looking to get started. Subscribed!
Start out on a Honda Shadow - it's the smart way to learn to ride...
@@anthonysilvestri4946 where would I even find one?
@@gregryan1149 Craigslist but watch out for bikes that were abused or not taken care of (left out in the rain, etc) or on CycleTrader.com - they have better examples but might cost a little more, worth it tho IMO
The Fastest Growing Beard is Sean from SRK Cycles! LOL Good Video!
Got to be old footage
The long forgotten magna v65 should have made the list, if I remember correctly it built the muscle bike class
That indian scout has to be one of the coolest bikes I have ever seen!!!
Agreed. It has such a unique, modern, classic look all in one. Looks amazing.
VTX 1800 F3 ?? I found a 2005 with under 5k miles for $5000 back in 2016 and it’s a phenomenal bike.
My old 1985 kawasaki zl900 would do 0-60 in 3 secs....it didn't like corners much either...kind of miss that bike though
The V-Max is damn quick. If you don't mind risking valve float, you can just stay in 1st and hit 60mph much sooner.
Of course you'd need to find a gas station right after. 100 miles per tank is just lame.
had a vulcan 2000 big fat cruiser that was a torqe monster great bike for big guys
V rod muscle is a lil wider than the Night Rod but fast as hell love that bike
Had a Victory Octane and loved it. Would have kept it if I didn't need the money. Sucker was quick and had a maintenance schedule that read like a cars.
Finally took my class and passed now just gotta take the written I’m already ready to buy a bike
I never knew that the v rod put the tank under the seat like the boulevards do.Clever really, getting
that 4 gallons down
Vmax 1200 been doing that since 85 lol. There’s a lot about the v rod that’s just like the gen 1 vmax.
Very surprised that the Yamaha Stryker wasn't on this list
night rod is a dream bike for me. Hope one day i can get my hands on one
Love my Night Rod. I do some upgrades every year. Just one or two so I don't break the bank. Plan on keeping her forever.
@@YouMotorcycle Thats so cool! just subbed to you btw. You seem to have amazing content, gonna go watch some of your vids
I wouldn’t recommend it.
..can't believe you left out the 750 Honda Magna! ..best of the mid weight cruisers..and will blow away most everything here..
Lol yes I agree. I had a 99 magna v45
Turned my 97 magna into a spark sled going 80mph.Destroyed my knee!
"The tank is 7 feet wide" and apparently it's only half as wide as the rear tire, making it a 14 foot wide rear tire. ???????
yeah wrong info. its really 16.5 ft wide.
Heinzkitz Velvet math doesn’t add up
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha
Sean's got jokes
M109R is a beast!
Vtx 1800 should be on the list
I love this TOP "X" format!
Kawasaki Vulcan Meanstreak 1600, black and debadged, one of the best looking and handling fast muscle cruisers.
I have to visit your shop next time I make a Cigars International run!
Still waiting for that scout at 5K lol
Same
Lol
VN2000 💪💪💪... hope to see you again testing one... it’s the exact bike I own 😉
Same here
Actually I have four VN2000's
The 2004 Rogue is the one that goes the hardest out of them all, and looks the meanest.
The other three are Classic LT's 2007, 2008, 2009
Just love them, they pull harder than a schoolboy
I bought a vulcan 2000 based on your videos praising them. I checked you website and you didnt have one or I would have bought it from you!
The 1800 VTX should of been about number 1 on this list wasn't even in it ?
I own a 2006 VTX 1800F3, factory spec 106 hp and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Bought it for $3500.
Mines 02 S with v&h pipes
@@motomark9736 Annnnnnd it came before the Kawasaki V2000
@@TedH12209 great deal that bike is no joke very underrated, unless you're in the know like you and I 👌
Yeah .... remake the video . I’ll wait .
3:56 LOL, F1 car, you nailed it. Let's say I wanted to back off the power a little and do tight turns and add a passenger for cruising, is there one for that?
Point me to where I can get an Indian scout for 5k please...
Right? Was just about to comment this
The deals are out there....I bought my 16 Dark Horse for $8500 2 years ago.
He said it should be under 5k in a few years
I saw one sell for $5500 two years ago.... Girl wasn't using it and just wanted to sell it quick.... Obviously sold in a week via Facebook.
They are talking about SRK Cycles stock only.
Triumph Rocket III , 2.3 litre , 144cu. In. 140 hp , 147 ft/lbs of torque ! Mine is a 2005
I was surprised to not see this one on the list either considering I've seen several for sale around $4000
My Warrior doesn't search for power either! LOL
I'm glad the scout atleast made it into the video. You're right they can't be had for under 5k but in a few more years surely they will be.
I have a 2020 scout bobber and it is a ton of fun 🤘. I've got some videos of it on my channel.
U can find a 2015 for under 5k. They r only like 9 grand brand new.
@@todtalk3912 check again. I own one and I bought it new. They start at $12k.
Back when I got mine new it was $11k
👍awesome video i really like the content keep them coming 🙋♂️🇬🇧
To contextualize the insanity of the VMax, when it was released in 1985 it had 145 hp. A 1985 Mustang GT had 210 hp. Imagine if someone came out with a 320 hp cruiser today, it would be f***ing nutty.
Happy Valkyrie owner 98! Now if you want some crazy, make a Valkyrie a cafe racer. Think about it
What about the Yamaha road warrior midnight.
bought my vmax for 4200 with 12k on it love it
The VROD's engine was not designed by Porsche. Harley Davidson designed the engine and Porsche helped them perfect the cooling system because they were having problems with cooling and reliability issues. The VROD engine is originally based on the VR1000 engine.
I would also like to throw in for consideration the Kawasaki Vulcan Mean Streek 1600
I'll vouch for the Vulcan S 😎🤙
Me too!! Vulcan S baby!!!
Yamaha Raider. They are well below 5k now?
Vulcan 650s or Shadow Phantom.. which one is beginner friendly?
Either one. I have the Shadow Phantom and throughly enjoy it. Plenty quick enough yet has a nimble, gentle nature.
