Came for the recipe, stayed for the narration. The narration is everything😂😂😂 I want to try this shake with a nice turkey burger on a keto bun. Thanks for the recipe.
Instead of cocoa powder, I used 100% single origin chocolate and added a little bit of vanilla to enhance the rich chocolate notes. It's sooo goooooood. I love leaning from your videos and adding my own little twists. Also made a batch where I added a little bit of bourbon. I gotta say, it's one of the best boozy drinks I've had in a while.
Thanks for watching and sharing! Chocolate is such a wildcard - pairs well with coffee, vanilla, chili peppers, etc. And especially bourbon; chocolate bourbon milkshake sounds delicious 🤤
New favorite channel! Love your style and humor. That shake looks amazing, gonna make it tomorrow I’ve been dying for something chocolate while on keto!
Thanks! There's a lot of chocolate stuff you can do while on keto - you can make fudge fat bombs, chocolate mouse, etc. Things like brownies wont be as good as the real deal, but they satisfy the cravings!
As always, this is a stellar production. Are we the only ones to see the shape of a cow on the glass in the thumbnail? 🤣😂 Love the David Attenborough style narration.. 😀
This is AWESOME!!! You made me laugh and shared a great low carb recipe!, AND it's a chocolate shake - one of my KRYPTONITE weaknesses!!! Sadly, I have MANY of them. Thank you so much for the video and recipe! Hope you and yours are doing well! Take care and be safe! 😊💖🙏
i see you using Swerve here; i made a halfhearted effort at identifying a sugar substitute for my coffee. it's really the only time i use table sugar [type2 'beetus]. i like Cuban coffee, very strong, and very sweet; they called it a cafecito in Ybor, but it was more frequently referred to as Cafe Cubano in Fort Lauderdale. and i would buy a Colada, just for me. i've tried Swerve, Allulose and Splenda [packets, and bulk for baking], and i find none of them to be an adequate substitute for that purpose. the strong coffee needs enough sugar to turn it into that delicious crema, but the substitutes all have a distinctive, unpleasant taste by the time you reach the sweetness needed.
Haha. I agree on the coffee - my family is Cuban and the cafe is the worst, overburnt robusta coffee ever and the only thing that can bring it to life- is real sugar. There's no substitute that I have found either that suffices and create la "espumita" that you get with regular sugar. It's sad, but there's no way you can drink that stuff straight. At a bare minimum, it needs some dairy to cut the bitterness!
It depends on the chocolate and the heavy cream you use. I estimated at ~5g if youre not using 0g carb heavy cream and some residual from the chocolate
The only real ingredient that has macros is the heavy cream (which is the basis for the chocolate syrup and also the shake). IF you use 1.5 cups of heavy cream and ALL the chocolate sauce, youre looking at ~1.75 cups of heavy cream. Depending in the brand will determine the macros, but based on the average macros of most heavy creams, that equates to: Calories: 821 Fat: 81g Carbs: 16g Protein: 11g
That sucks :( Ive been working a lot lately on a strawberry milkshake and a quick chocolate ice cream recipe and have discovered a few things. Lactose seems to be necessary in most cases, but I believe Ive found a way around it. It's not 100%, but it's close. Im still doing some experimentation for the upcoming video, but stay tuned - I might have something for you that's 🔥 😁
Try using coconut milk, cashew milk, or macadamia nut milk, those are all creamer than almond or rice milk. : ) Cashew milk and cacao power and cocoa butter blended together is how I make hot cocoa. I don't even use sugar, sometimes peppermint oil, if that's too healthy add two drops of liquid stevia and vanilla extract.
Ill let others chime in, and I know you dont know me, but I hope that iver time, you can trust that when I put something on my channel - it's because Ive worked on the recipe for some time to get it 👌😂
I'm too lazy to go thru all these steps, but it's really easy to make a similar recipe. I just throw heavy cream. Almond milk, cocoa powder, instant coffee, icecubes, and erythritol in a blender. It's more like a frappuccino, but it's ready in 5 minutes and delicious.
@@BlackTieKitchen my heavy cream (from Aldi) says 1g of carb per 1 tb. The recipe uses 2 cups, which is 32 tb. Maybe other heavy creams have fewer carbs.
They usually do. Youre also not likely to eat all the chocolate - there's quite a bit left over. When i calculated it out - the shake itself should be about ~10g carbs. It's not little, but the caloric impact is considerable, so it equates to half your daily intake (typically)
It will depend on what heavy cream you use and how much. Chocolate powder is basically fiber and different heavy creams have different carb counts. A cup of heavy cream is ~800 calories, so the shake can be anywhere between 800-1000 calories. Should be anywhere in the 8 carb range assuming you have a low carb creamer

Leaving the leftover schocolate sauce in the fridge over night makes a nice schocolate mousse!
It actually hardens a decent amount in the fridge to thr point where'd its be a stiff pudding like consistency
@@BlackTieKitchen yes, found out by not using all the sauce and then having a nice treat the next day :) thanks for your videos by the way!

Why the syrup became oily? It tasted good though. But I noticed a separate oily layer
Sweet! Will give it a try. Thanks for a very entertaining video. :)

What happened to the broccoli from the freezer? The art on the glass was pretty good. You have done it again.

In case anyone else was doing the math, this milkshake is 1,600 calories, 32g of net carbs, 162g of fat, and 2g of protein.
Not sure how you got that many net carbs 🤔

Sugar is keto??
The sweetener I used was erythitrol, not your common table sugar!
Black Tie Kitchen could I use Xylitol?
Yup! Just be aware that Xylitol can cause an upset stomach to some people (Im a living example) and that it is poisonous to pets!
bro you looking kinda big how much do you bench
I believe that at the time of this video, i was deadlifting ~500x2, squatting 415x5, and benching ~280x4. Those numbers are significantly lower now 😔
So another words no milkshake for me while I’m on a low-carb diet!!
Why not? This shake is low-car
I’m just saying that because of the process. I don’t have the patience for that😂. Do you happen to live near Fresno California?😂
Unfortunately, no. I'm on the other coast 😂
