@@AlexRollinsNFL I just feel like Matt Nagy gets too much criticism when he’s only part of the problem and firing him won’t fix the Bears completely. Ryan Pace has been the GM for longer and has not prioritized the o-line and has not gotten the right coach and the right QB.
@@tricker37 exactly... Olin Kruetz used to point out hot blitz at the line. The oline has to communicate to each other... Field's isn't blocking anybody. Dafuq
@@zaziedabeast9692 It's pretty common for QBs to align the offensive line. When they point to a linebacker and say "X is the Mike", it tells the offensive line to arrange their blocking assignments assuming that X is the center of what's coming, which can shift from play to play.
Thank you for being the only person alive willing to criticize Fields. I live in Chicago and for some reason absolutely nobody gives him anything but endless praise after a game of 9/22 for 80 yards. "oh you can just see how much he's learning". It's bizarre and frustrating, but finally someone is willing to cut the shit. THANK YOU
Everyone (except for Bears fans) knew this wouldn’t go well for Fields. The best for him is to take the Trubisky route and go to a team with a really good QB coach/OC and take some time to undo whatever damage the Bears coaching staff has inflicted on Fields’ development
Nah man before he was named the starter it was a 50/50 split of fans wanting him to start or sit. I'd say almost no Bears fans believed he could work in Nagy's offense, that's why everyone pushed for Nagy to give up play calling. Even with that happening it's still the terrible system that Nagy is trying to force Fields into instead of building a new one around him to promote his strengths.
Idk if your a bears fan or follow bears media, but for the past year, at least half of the fan base wanted Nagy gone after last year because they don’t want him to ruin someone else. No bears fans trust him. Trubisky will never be a adequate starter either, both things can be true. Although Nagy never did him favors either.
@@GandalfTheStraight if you’re not a bears fan don’t talk on what the fanbase thinks lol nagy is a garbage play caller and coordinator. Don’t get it twisted tho trubusky was trash as well
The breakdown at 5:00 is really on point. Very few teams are leaving Garrett in 1 on 1s, and only Chicago has opened up opportunities to let Garrett run free, and Nagy chose that path with a rookie QB having his first start. As soon as Peters checks the inside DT, the ball is snapped, and Peters is just too slow in turning his head and finding Garrett. Pretty much every other team double teams, or at least gets a chip or two on Garrett nearly every play. Letting him run free like that is an example that Nagy isn't respecting the opposition as much as he needs to.
If you do that, then the browns send more than you could block on the otherside. Like offense teams scheming a guy open. The defenses scheme their pass rushers to get a 1 on 1.
As a "regular" Bears fan it's been brutal watching Nagy's system the last few years. Nothing makes sense, nothing changes, and when we do find some mild success in running we abandon it randomly the second half. I can't admit to knowing as much in-depth as real football heads... but it's painful that every average joe seemingly sees trends and failures so much more clear than Nagy. I think he has a crazy ego and the initial season with Fangio leading our D gives him a false understanding of his own playbook. Hoping we get a fresh start with a new face to train Fields next year.
Those games vs the Packers and Bucs are arguably the most brutal thing I’ve ever seen a rookie go through. In an era where young qb’s are boom and busting, Fields gets back to back matchups vs the best 2 QB’s/teams in the NFC/NFL. Both defenses getting pressure, the Bears offense not amassing anything at all, and Rodgers and Brady both making jokes about owning the Bears. Couple that with all of the other bs he’s been through, and its just really sad.
Fields is a bust and Nagy is a bad coach. I think you can see both things are true just watching the offense. There is a reason Fields was falling the the middle of the first until the Bears reached for him.
@@BM4gic2010 he’s clearly talented but it all hinges on if he could wind up with a good offensive coach who could scheme for his strengths and weaknesses. Nagy’s not that guy pal.
The bears only care about merchandise. (They are one of the teams that make the most off of merchandise.)Like oh congratulations you beat a team of rookies. When the last good receiver left I just stopped caring. Years ago. They are gonna draft the cheapest/newest players to their team every time. Meanwhile the Packers keep pretty much all of their pros. Cuz they actually pay them I'm assuming... I miss Urlacker lol forget which team he went to. Or i think he retired... Ya this was years ago lol
As an OSU fan i had him at 3 behind wilson and lawrence(pretty standard) but I think him getting the excuses that wilson hasn't got is unfair. Every throw wilson makes hes ridiculed but fields seems to get excuses for his own shortcomings.
@@EhudJonathan He beat Clemson and a head to match up with Trevor. He was hurt in the Northwestern game. Trevor was shut down the year before against LSU.
The Bears are a diaster of an organization. It starts with ownership, who are incompetent and uncaring. That trickles down to bad hires remaining in place for too long, which have now lead to multiple player careers in tatters. We expect and deserve nothing good for this team until the McCaskey's sell off (which they never will) or die and hope we get a decent owner at the helm.
Yeah. Let's get Jeff Bezos to buy the team. He's organized, competent and really cares about people. Speaking of "trickles down," if it'll save a buck, he'll have season ticket holders pissing in plastic bottles. And, he takes a great dik-pic -- something George McCaskey can't say (I hope).

It’ll be a shame if his career is unsuccessful because of the team he’s on… seemed like a really solid prospect and definitely could be a star in the NFL
This doesn't happen. Good players overcome. Watson and Stafford were drafted to a bad teams with terrible coaching and became superstars. Bad players bust and good players break out. Coaching and organization is used as an excuse by delusional fans.
@@BM4gic2010 Mahomes is the clearest example of this. Could have easily busted had he gone to like the Browns (or bears lol). But instead he landed with arguably the best offensive mind in the league, got time to sit and learn, and now is the best player in the league. Aaron Rodgers is another. Had terrible mechanics coming out but got time to sit and learn in a great organization. Rest is history. Hell even Jared Goff had a couple of objectively great seasons with the guru McVay, and having been shipped to the lions, is terrible now. I think the prospect who will absolutely be successful regardless of where they go is rarer than the prospect whose initial success can be greatly influenced by the competence of the organization that drafts them.
Based on what? Did you watch his last college season? Both Northwestern and Bama were very telling of his potential future. And if you can't make the cut to start at UGA, then you aren't going to be successful to begin with. That just means going to a lesser conference will make you look good.
@@BM4gic2010 Bullshit. You put Mahomes on the Bears instead of Tru-bust-sky, then Mahomes would be a bust playing on his second or third team. Or he'd be dead from the Bears hideous offensive line play.
It's unfathomable how many times that's happened to different extremely talented players throughout NFL history. An NFL organization, coach or scheme can ruin what should be quality talent
@@staralex1312 The thing I always say about Daniel Jones is this: He can run good and he can throw good, he just can't run and throw good. He has good football skills, but he is just not enough of a "winner" to be a championship caliber QB in the NFL. I liken him to Rich Tannehill. Tannehill showed flashes in Miami but really never became good until he was in a great situation in Tennessee. I think the Giants will cut or trade Jones after the season. If he goes to the right team he could be better, but he is not the guy the Giants need right now.
I hate empty sets. Just allows the defense to key in by eliminating the run, and in the case of the Bears, the run game is all they really have going well for them. Coaches overthink sometimes, empty sets hamper an offense in most cases in my opinion.
That's fair, but it also has a lot of benefits. Makes the QB play quickly, spreads out the defense and makes it much more challenging for them to disguise what they're doing. QBs like things spread out so they can attack open space and don't have to deal with as many protection issues
@@AlexRollinsNFL Thanks for the reply. I may be old school, but I would think play-action out 21 and 12 sets would help a QB like Fields out a ton more than empty sets. Getting him out of the pocket, and cutting his reads to half the field would be the obvious solution IMO. Too many times in empty sets I see young QBs pre-determine where they are throwing the ball resulting in an interception and if their first read is covered they take a sack.
@@furiogiunta7886 You're 100% right, however they've had difficulty protecting him on play passes (more standard run fakes) so I think that's why they haven't done that as much as people would like. Beginning of the season I was so excited for my team to draft him and see what can happen. Then I saw that hit against the Bucs and saw my mans just laying out on the field. Feel so bad for this situation
There are a lot more unproven QBs who have a rosier looking resume that will get a chance at that role before Trubisky does. But there are some teams even this season who don't have a defacto starter so if they can campaign to go to those teams in the offseason next year, they could have a sho.
Fields was my favorite QB in the draft, and I really wanted my Lions to draft him at no. 7 instead of Sewell. Sewell does look good, however. Side note: can you do your next episode on Mac Jones's start with the Pats?
You should do a video about Michael pittman Jr. He's a beast imo and a top 20 wr easily. His stats are a bit inflated cause he played 9 games but he's a breakout wr and it would be nice to see your view on him
it seems that nagy is the problem because hes not putting his players in a beneficial place like a sean mcvay where he catered to jarred goffs strengths
Even better with McVay is that he legit tried EVERYTHING to coach up Goff. Despite all that hand holding on the field, Goff still managed to screw up in terms of awareness and execution as he was super sensitive to pressure despite having decent targets around him and having experienced a solid offensive line throughout his time with the Rams. McVay doesn't have to do much with Stafford as he is executing things on the field consistently.
Nagy wants to be Sean McVay (and it's not even for "the girlfriend"). McVay is considered an offensive genius (both he and Stafford supposedly possess a photographic memory). Nagy has a hard time remembering his visor.
Yeah from what I gathered Lazor was doing the playcalling from the Lions moving forward. But apparently its week to week decision or something that Nagy approves or something. But regardless just get Nagy off the playcalling duties because he can't even target opposing defenses weaknesses.
Well to be honest Matt Nagy is. we've seen the best version of fields come out against the 49ers and their was a different head coach calling the plays
As a bears fan your not completely wrong but hes gonna be good its just oline and ryan pace and matt nagy fault and when they all go fields will be a superstar qb
I for one still have many doubts about Justin. Now that NIGHTMARE-Nagy is gone, we will see who he is this coming season. I am quite sure whoever they get as coach will be an improvement. As for Trubisky, he was overthrowing about 70% of his receivers, and I mean LONG overthrows.
It’s not ALL on the Bears. You draft an Ohio State QB you deserve what you get. Ohio State runs a middle school caliber complexity, first read covered tuck and run offense. EVERY QB to come out of OSU has been woefully unprepared for the NFL. Google the list of every single QB from Ohio State to ever play in the NFL and tell me I’m wrong.
It not the school but the players. Josh Allen and Lamar, Kyler and Joe Burrow are doing good despite the play calls. Joe Burrow was at OSU too. LSU is trash without Burrow. Justin Fields will be fine. It has only been 4 or 5 games. I give each rookie 18 months without over reacting. Peyton Manning was horrible his rookie season. Troy Akiman too. Andrew Luck too. They are HOF's.
Don’t you just love when a GM sucks at talent acquisition, a coach sucks at scheming for the roster he has instead of the roster he had, and they both get brought back?
Pace isn't as bad as nagys schemes make him look. This offense is doing worse than John fox Mitches first year. And that offense had Kendall Wright as receiver one. When 4 QBs don't look even decent under you your the problem. Is pace great no, but he's pretty decent.
@@reinhardvanastrea9954 They had the 12-4 season and ever since then that roster has kept getting worse. Hell, the team traded a 4th rounder for a career back-up QB
Whenever I thought about it it kept blowing my mind, so I had to discuss it in an episode. Pace drafted Trubisky, he busted, Pace got rid of him.. and is still here! Nuts
@@AlexRollinsNFL Sometimes ownership has to just watch your team fall into irrelevance before they finally acknowledge the problem (cough Jacksonville cough)
Trubisky should not have been drafted based on his lack of QB skills and experience. Trubisky had a defense that had a lot of take aways. It is non existent now. Dalton is on his third team in three years so he is a back up.
Not really, or he'd be threading passes to ARob. But, JF1 is going to be fine. Give him a couple of years and he'll be Kyle Murray on.human growth hormones.
@@corngreaterthanwheat Let's see: I counted 5 "overthrows" by JF1 versus the Steelers, on MNF. These were "overthrows" -- not simply missed passes (caused by: tipped throws, wrong pass route, reception made out of bounds,, etc.) I have not seen a game in which Mitch had 5 "overthrows" -- incompletions, sure; low throws to protect the ball, yes, but "overthrows"? No. Does this worry me about Justin Fields and his future with the Beard? Hell no! Get the domain name: "KING SIZE Kyler Murray" ready. I'm just pointing out the fact that people should evaluate QBs based on facts, not on press releases folklore nor hope (real or imagined). To complicate things further, evaluators sometimes use jargon and semantics to support their position. For instance: while my opinion is based on a small sample size, I believe that Fields throws with better "touch" than Trubisky. But when all is said and done, so what? The important thing is winning games.
An excellent and balanced analysis. Field’s problem is he a rookie, albeit a very talented one. The fact that Dalton has much lower pressure rates with the same line and play calls shows Field’s inexperience. Nagy is just clueless in the current situation and unable-or stubbornly unwilling-to adjust the offense to reflect that. Hopefully, he will be gone soon and the new coach will be better.
Thank you Terry! I agree, the pressure issues in the video were mental errors which can definitely get coached up. If Fields can't improve in that area it's a huge issue, but it's something that can be changed
Sorry but my Bears have played the Rams Bengals Raiders Browns Packers &Buccaneers & your talking about a rookie struggling your such a fuckin' genius!
Those teams have better coaches, offensive line players, weapons than this team. He compares this kid to Trubisky. Trubisky never looked comfortable or capable of being a starter.
@@setfree8218 So did Vince Young and Kordell Stewart. We all know the Pro bowl is not based on merit but availability. He went because other QB;s were hurt , opted out or in the playoffs. Mitch is a good guy but he was not a starter in the NFL.
matt nagy is a decent coach. he can get his guys fired up and ready to play, somewhat decent when it comes to defensive football (ofc havin khalil mack helps) but damn, dat man should neva dictate an offensive snap ever again in his life.
@@SirLordBabyPeen see dat ion understand. he needs to apply dat same initiative to the offense. basically, he doesnt need to have his job, but if hes gonna stay he can atleast not completely fuck the team.
It was clear as day from his college tape that he was a slow processor and had trouble reading defenses, and lo and behold he still is in the NFL. There is a reason he was the 4th QB taken even though he has the best arm talent of the bunch. Sadly he will either bust as a starter or turn into a dink and dunk Tyrod Taylor type starting as a placeholder on a bad team.
I think is most important to build your offensive line @ your starting QB, preseason is the best time to do this..You can't pop a player like Lamar in any system because linemen have a timing that they expect the ball to be thrown, switching up can do more damage early on than help, especially to the QB...They should have given the rookie the keys to the car for the season so they could build chemistry...it's that simple..
The Bears don’t have the worst offensive line in the league. The Dolphins are way worse. The Dolphins just run RPO’s to death, because their offensive line can block no one. When the Bears OL loses it is bad. However, a good portion of the time the line is average and fields just doesn’t read pressure or the field . There are sacks where guys are open or the pressure can be avoided
What is worse is that the scheme is NOT hiding this weakness well. Bears have solid ass TEs who can catch underneath and can chip at the edge to slow down pressure if needed. But instead they choose to go empty sets/11 personnel with their injury ravaged RBs and expecting Fields to try dice up secondaries going wide. Then his pocket collapses before he finishes his 2nd read and fans complain he holds onto the ball too long. He just can't catch a break in this situation at all.
And Trey Lance, Trevor Lawrence. Kyle is already saying Trey Lance is not ready. Then why did he draft him so high? Those QB's went before Fields. It is the organization and coaching and defense. So I give them all18 months.
really???!!!! this is stupid stop with the overreactions! Fields in the Bears will be fine.. he is still building chemistry with the starters because he didn't get any reps with them in OTAs at all!!!! it takes time & and it's a long season beardown 🐻⬇️
Yeah he gave Trubisky a chance but he want to trash this kid after 4 or 5 starts. He looked really good yesterday. He makes throws that I know Trubisky could never make.
This illustrates why I never buy in after just one year or a few games. Nagy was coach of the year. Everyone wants to anoint Herbert and Tevin Jenkins... I will get back to you in a few years. Larry Borom? Fields was going to solve all the ills of this team if I listened to everyone. There are no miracle cures.
I HAVE TO agree with you 100% -- but we'll have to apply that same logic to Mahomes (not good lately, even with his great roster) and Watson (who knows how that shit-show, ends?) in order to get the proper perspective. In the meantime, however, let's hope Pace deals withJustin Fields' current problem #1: Matt Nagy as the Bears' head coach, and his entire offensive coaching staff. The jury's verdict is in.
Hey man great content, big fan of yours, and have been subscribed for a long time! Could you please do a video just like this only on Jalen hurts and Nick sirianni? Who do you think deserves more of the blame for the offense underperforming?
@@AlexRollinsNFL I know I really like that video cuz I'm a HUGE eagles fan, and it gave me a little bit of Hope for the future but he looks totally different with Nick sirianni compared to Doug Peterson. If you can't do another video on it that's fine but could you just tell me right now who you think more is more to blame?
Pace, for not drafting a strong O-line and Nagy for not being able to design plays that cater to Fields' abilities. NO quarterback would succeed under Nagy's ineptitude and a porous O-line. As good as Mahomes, Murray, Prescott (etc, etc) are ... they all have good protection upfront and coaches who know what they're doing. Give Fields the same things and he'll be every bit as good. Also, coaches who do know what they're doing ... when their starting quarterback gets hurt and another quarterback comes in? they adjust the plays to that quarterback strengths. Nagy does nothing but "These are the (predictable, obvious) plays I have, I will make zero adjustments (because I can't) per individual playing QB and they all have to do it this way." He's a moron.
I mean ask the same thing for Darnold with Gase and right now Flores/coaching ass staff and Tua. Darnold got benched so we'll see how that goes. As for Tua's adventures in Miami, he has no real play caller repping for him so considering how he's doing with both positives and negatives, it is surprising that the narrative shifted to him and not Flores' inability to coach his defense.
Fields is a good talent But He’s no Alex smith If Nagy can’t get it going with Fields, the kid want last with the bears long. New coach and he’ll get his guy.
Nagy and Pace need to go period, this isn't on Fields. The play calling is horrendous, and with the horrible offensive line Fields doesn't have a chance. The Bears could have signed Ariens, but were more concerned about how he dealt with the media vs his coaching ability.
So GMs are supposed to be fired if they draft a 1st round QB that doesn't work out? The intro seems to imply so. Putting that aside, I suspect Pace has some sort of bias with vetting head coaches and QBs - just a guess- and when those blew up, he went with the dynamic Fields as a last ditch effort to correct that in a meaningful way. Nagy however is just a disaster. Four years in and he can't do the one thing he was supposed to be the most qualified to do - figure out something that works on offense. I don't respect takes that conflate Pace and Nagy as if they are the same entity with equal responsibility. Pace has put NFL talent on the roster - on defense, offense and ST. Nagy has only succeeded because the defense has carried the offense. Two different things. #FireNagy
Great analysis. Thank you. 🙏🏾 I believe it all starts with fixing the O-line and getting a legit run game. If this doesn’t happen, Fields won’t be successful…period. Contrary to public opinion, QB’s don’t win games by themselves. In football, it always starts up front. ALWAYS! 😏
Thank you brother! I agree, the OL mismanagement by the front office has been brutal, and their game plans put the unit in terrible situations. All around it's bad
I was a big fan of Fields when he was at OSU. Hope he can develop at some point. It's always tough when your OC and you support on offense isn't what you'd want them to be. Like you said it's hard to say what's Fields' fault and what's to blame on the situation he's in. If we remember there were some great QBs that struggled early on (Peyton Manning!) but then got a chance to develop. Unfortunatly nowadays there is much more pressure for rookie QBs to deliver right away.
Yes and no. Matt Nagy sucks to be sure but fields has played like complete ass. You stick Belichick or Reid or McVay in there and he still would be struggling. It was actually a smart thing to have him sit for a year. He is not near the level of Mac Jones readiness right now even if his ceiling is higher. He just doesn’t process as quick right now.
Are you sure it's not his footwork? Oh no, that was Trubisky. The QB's "processing" speed involving a six-yard cur,l pattern when the down and distance is third-and-nine, is not a first order concern. But, if you believe it is: run slants; rollouts and use the sidelines as protection against interception and big hits on undersized receivers. There are a lot of ways to help a talented young QB suceed in the NFL. Nagy has yet to use any of them, on a regular basis. Maybe Tabor will on Sunday.
As Jim McMahon said "Chicago is where QBs go to die." With that being said can you honestly name any good QBs that came out of Ohio State? I can't. Maybe Tom Tupa, but he wasn't known as a good QB in the NFL. He was known as a Punter.
Funny how you say they're ruining him but then you want to talk about how he's last in all these categories🤔 that Cleveland game was "clearly" sabotaged you should never allow your rookie quarterback to get treated like that! because you can ruin them
Kirk Cousin was awful in the Cleveland game too. The Browns have the best defense in the NFL. He brings up this game when most QB's have struggled against the BROWNS.
Look how they play without him Justin field you cocky aditud has to go let give former eagles quarterback more money 💰 🤑 💸 before it's too late WE NEED A CHAMPIONSHIP NOW !!!!
As a bears fan, that has be critical of trubisky. And a fan of Nagy. I got to apologize to mitch because it wasn't his all his fault. And even though I feel we still shouldn't have drafted mitch over Watson (i wanted watson) or mahomes but whatever. I can see that Nagy isn't the coach I thought he was. And it's his ability to learn and except accountability for his mistakes. And knowing that I just now see he us a bad coach. And Nagy is the problem and even though I'm happy mitch is gone. I do owe him as a bears fan an apology.
You do not owe him an apology because he should not have been drafted. He took the money and the glory. He is good. Most QB's with his limited skill set do not get drafted that high and reap the financial benefits. They gave him 4 years to start and another optional year in rotation with Foles when he was not good. The Defense can not hold up anymore because the window is closed because they held on to Trubisky too long.
Are people forgetting that Northwestern made this guy look like he couldn't play ball? Or how about Bama (with their worst defense in quite sometime) making him look like a chump? What's with defending trash players? Yes the Bears have a poor o-line, a HC that never shouldn't be one on any team, and the GM is eh. He's maybe on the same tier as Darnold or Geno Smith, no matter where he goes.
He was hurt in that game. Are you forgetting the Clemson game when Fields made Trevor look like a Chump? or When Burrows made Trevor look like a chump in the LSU championship game?
@@staralex1312 I'm not even high on Trevor so.... What's the excuse for the Bama game? Or how he couldn't even take over the starting job at UGA? He's mediocre at best

You can not mediocre and beat Clemson NFL Defense and go to the champion game.
Great video. I'm with you that Fields was in a tough spot last year and this year will probably be the same, but I'm glad you showed he deserved his share of blame also. Alot of his warts coming out of Ohio State showed up in a major way as a rookie. He's got alot to clean up. He's raw but very talented
Thanks Frank, yeah I'm actually pretty worried about him. I know there were a lot of factors he couldn't control, but statistically, he had a similar rookie year to Mitch Trubisky. Fields has probably the worst supporting cast in the league and a new head coach.. it's gonna be rough
Don't worry don't worry.. 4 weeks he gets a get right game against Detroit.. He can be just like Mitch . . 12-13 below average games a year, one fluke game, and two absolutely amazing this is why we drafted this guy games against the Loins. The Loins fans might think.. this guy is trash we might actually be able to get a win here.. Ha
Quarterbacks in the NFL can't get by on raw talent. On the other hand, an exceptional physical specimen can often do well (and even excel) in college. The NFL is a much more cerebral game. This, in addition to instinct and poise are attributes than an NFL QB must possess to be successful. It's these intangibles that are lacking in Fields' game, and unfortunately these are skills you can't learn overnight. I wish the kid all the best and Go Bengals! WHO DEY!
Good breakdown though, but I'd still much rather have Fields out there learning via trial by fire instead of trying to watch Dalton in the same shitty Nagy offense.
@@Bc232klm Agreed. It will be the same result regardless and Fields may find himself in the frying pan anyway if Dalton keeps turning up goose eggs with the same scheme he's running and takes too many hard hits that will find him in the side lines. Also unless the schemes and playcalling change in the future along with the quality of the skilled positions, Fields will experience the same shit on year 2 despite the reps.
Hey, Ms Virginia doesn't suit up on Sundays. She doesn't miss tackles (that's BoJack); she doesn't miss blocks (that's some of the big guys on the OL); and, she didn't design this stupid-ass scheme that can't score more than 14 points a game (that's the offensive "genius," Matt Nagy). And, oh yeah,, cut the "Old Lady" some slack.
I'm not a bears fan but I feel that Matt Nagy is a terrible coach wasting a good defense and setting the rookie qb for failure with that bad offensive line
This guy makes this assessment after 4 games when Trubisky played 4 years here. Trubisky it is not a starting caliber QB so everyone agrees but this guy. He shows tape of the best defense when Kirk Cousins has struggled the following week against the Browns.
@@staralex1312 in Justin’s first few games I’ve seen him do things consistently that I’ve never seen Mitch do, so idk if he’s just been box score watching
I'm a Bears fan, and even I know that thought process was delusional. Heck, thinking that stating a rookie quarterback would make us contenders was delusional.
This highlights many of the things Justin Fields needed to brush up on when entering the league. However, this is not entirely his fault. Nagy's poor QB coaching makes this all the more difficult on Fields. His confidence is shattered, he's panicked in the pocket, and tries to make passes to his skill positions, who are not open. This is bad play calling. For example, They should have Allen Robinson make more double moves if(IF!) Fields can get enough time to make that happen. They need to call more screens so Mooney can show off his speed and shiftiness. They need to let the skill positions show off their skills, and play to their strengths.

@@anthonymendez1997 Thanks Anthony, I certainly think a lot of the sacks are on Fields, but like I said in the video "Football Outsiders ranked them dead last in adjusted sack rate." That metric takes the QB out of the equation as best it can so that # is solely on the OL. Not great

"oh you can just see how much he's learning". It's bizarre and frustrating, but finally someone is willing to cut the shit. THANK YOU
THANK YOU for that post. The announcers and critics are now FINALLY throwing him some responsibility for his/Bears horrible playing.
@@jarodrideout4654 well no because they were all blaming Trubisky, so how could Bears fans have known that Nagy was the actual problem?
Idk if your a bears fan or follow bears media, but for the past year, at least half of the fan base wanted Nagy gone after last year because they don’t want him to ruin someone else.
Greetings from Britain! Thanks for the regular uploads Alex!
Thanks Jadeveon!

Hilarious how Nagy being exposed like this will 100% guarantee trubisky a starting job next season
There are a lot more unproven QBs who have a rosier looking resume that will get a chance at that role before Trubisky does. But there are some teams even this season who don't have a defacto starter so if they can campaign to go to those teams in the offseason next year, they could have a sho.
You can't argue that Garret is the best pass rusher in the game. Aaron Donald holds that title.
Fields was my favorite QB in the draft, and I really wanted my Lions to draft him at no. 7 instead of Sewell. Sewell does look good, however.

it seems that nagy is the problem because hes not putting his players in a beneficial place like a sean mcvay where he catered to jarred goffs strengths

I'm just pointing out the fact that people should evaluate QBs based on facts, not on press releases folklore nor hope (real or imagined).
To complicate things further, evaluators sometimes use jargon and semantics to support their position.

Justin Fields will be fine -- but he really has to concentrate on protecting the ball, immediately. Remember.Jay Cutler?
I think is most important to build your offensive line @ your starting QB, preseason is the best time to do this..You can't pop a player like Lamar in any system because linemen have a timing that they expect the ball to be thrown, switching up can do more damage early on than help, especially to the QB...They should have given the rookie the keys to the car for the season so they could build chemistry...it's that simple..

@@AlexRollinsNFL yesterday was pretty good for him though, he's getting there.
Good comments. But give the O-Line a chance to get the starters together., and they'll be fine.
I'm starting to honestly think how much of Mitch Trubisky was his fault.
We was telling mfs Tht 2 years ago n no body listen just went base of a narrative

Fire Matt Nagy
Nagy and Pace need to go period, this isn't on Fields. The play calling is horrendous, and with the horrible offensive line Fields doesn't have a chance. The Bears could have signed Ariens, but were more concerned about how he dealt with the media vs his coaching ability.
Nagy is the problem. Fire him (don't forget t his offensive staff) and you'll see improvement.

I agree brother, I wonder if PM had had the same rookie season nowadays what the discourse would have been like.
NAGY IT'S TIME TO MAKE LIKE A TREE AND LEAVE ! MUM LIKE NOW DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU FROM BEHIND!!!!!
Look how they play without him Justin field you cocky aditud has to go let give former eagles quarterback more money 💰 🤑 💸 before it's too late WE NEED A CHAMPIONSHIP NOW !!!!
So basically, Kyle Shanahan is doing the right by making Trey Lance sit yet another year without playing that much football since 2019?
Actually I think Trey would have been just as good as Jimmy the 49ers have a better coach and offensive line.
@@spiderniner7427 I agree 💯
Please do a breakdown of the Odell situation in Cleveland. Looks like he’s wide open every play.
Good idea!
Every WR believes he's "open" on every play. The key is both, being open and being in the designated position on the field, the right spot.
@@EhudJonathan The fanbase is still mad at Kirby for choosing to stick with Fromm over Fields. He was not given a chance to start because of Kirby's preference for Fromm. Fields outplayed Jake Fromm in practice and games. Where is Fromm? He should never have went to UGA but he wanted to be close to home. You can not mediocre and beat Clemson NFL Defense and go to the champion game.
@@staralex1312 That's an outright lie
@@EhudJonathan LOL. Are you in GA?
Great video. I'm with you that Fields was in a tough spot last year and this year will probably be the same, but I'm glad you showed he deserved his share of blame also. Alot of his warts coming out of Ohio State showed up in a major way as a rookie. He's got alot to clean up. He's raw but very talented
Thanks Frank, yeah I'm actually pretty worried about him. I know there were a lot of factors he couldn't control, but statistically, he had a similar rookie year to Mitch Trubisky. Fields has probably the worst supporting cast in the league and a new head coach.. it's gonna be rough
@@AlexRollinsNFL If Fields gets traded this off season, it would be great if you made another video detailing why it didn't work out in Chicago!
Ha
I honestly forgot Clowney was on the Browns
Maybe he’s just not ready to play?
That's what I think
As a cards fan. Less good young qbs in the NFC the better. Keep doing what you do bears!
Lmao this hurt to read
@@bursty1382 why?
Wonderful content as always
Thank you so much brother!
WHO DEY!
Such a tragic that he is on the bears
He's learning more in game action than watching Dalton. He's not being ruined. He's learning.
Good breakdown though, but I'd still much rather have Fields out there learning via trial by fire instead of trying to watch Dalton in the same shitty Nagy offense.
I’d disagree
@@Bc232klm Agreed. It will be the same result regardless and Fields may find himself in the frying pan anyway if Dalton keeps turning up goose eggs with the same scheme he's running and takes too many hard hits that will find him in the side lines. Also unless the schemes and playcalling change in the future along with the quality of the skilled positions, Fields will experience the same shit on year 2 despite the reps.
Surprisingly this video showed me that there is an actual company out there charging $10 for a box of cereal 🤨
Dey tryna make him into cam Newton bruh
He needs more hats!
“A ballsy move by ownership”. I guess you do not know that the current ownership of the Bears is incapable of that.
She just signs the checks and doles out more money on a weekly basis than you and I have made in a lifetime.
But don't worry. She's got a plan; things will get better soon. Tune in, Sunday.
And, oh yeah,, cut the "Old Lady" some slack.
Thank you so much Jesse! Appreciate that a lot
I'm not a bears fan but I feel that Matt Nagy is a terrible coach wasting a good defense and setting the rookie qb for failure with that bad offensive line
Trubisky 2.0 is crazy
This guy makes this assessment after 4 games when Trubisky played 4 years here. Trubisky it is not a starting caliber QB so everyone agrees but this guy. He shows tape of the best defense when Kirk Cousins has struggled the following week against the Browns.
@@staralex1312 in Justin’s first few games I’ve seen him do things consistently that I’ve never seen Mitch do, so idk if he’s just been box score watching
Man, I remember so many Bears fans telling me the bears were gonna destroy the Rams with Fields, good memories.
The Bears fans you talked to were dumb as snake mittens. Every real Bears fan knew we were screwed this season because Nagy and Pace are trash.
You must be exaggerating. Ain't no way that many of us Bears fans thought that would happen.
@@kamrondavis6019 I wish I was, I was surprised how many actually thought they had a chance.
I'm a Bears fan, and even I know that thought process was delusional. Heck, thinking that stating a rookie quarterback would make us contenders was delusional.
@@kamrondavis6019 Maybe not that exactly, but I did see so many fellow Bears fans say that we would be a winning team with Fields this season.
