I just can't imagine what this woman is feeling. To be betrayed by two of the closest people in your life, a mother and husband. Gosh.... I'm not sure I would be able to forgive any time soon. To be honest, I probably would cut contact with my mom until she got help, the husband would be an instant divorce... The grossest part is he knowingly came back to the room after just doing it with her mom and still got off with her.... disgusting and it makes me cringe.
I think it’s a dangerous precedent to say just because someone is their mother that is the be and end all and that you should forgive them and build a relationship back up especially if it’s repeated behaviour and or patterns, I think forgiveness is essential for your own inner peace but it doesn’t mean that you have to go back to the relationship you had, you need to protect your peace and if that means cutting someone of going low contact or no contact then it should be done .

Although he did not realise in the beginning that it was just a reflection, when he understood it, he fell in despair that his love could not materialise and committed suicide.
From there we have narcissism as a word … and psychological tendency

How do we always make excuses for parents. Something cannot be undone and damage hurtful specially someone that has the title of mother or dad either way. Cut the loss of both. If you can forgive your mom do it but don’t forget it. U can forgive for sake of Allah but cut them off

There are a few clear examples in the quran where closest family are biggest enemy. Ibrahim ( AS) and his father, Nuh (AS) and his son, in the later case when Nuh was trying to plead with Allah to save his son, he was told he is not your son. In this case her mother is pure evil and she is not her mother in the real sense. Cut them both off. She will struggle to ever trust anyone again.
