Agreed. I've always tried to explain to my wife why Cyclops is my favorite X-man. Her only reference was the movies and even the old show disrespected him most of the time. But this here, this is the Cyclops i used to see in the comics. They finally did my boy justice.

From the time they're in the jet to the time they kill Master Mold may legitimately be the best 5 and a half minutes of any X-men project ever made for film or TV. It is perfect and everything anyone who was a fan of the comics first would want. The action, cinematic value, script, voice performances, animation, score, lighting effects and just about anything else you can mention was perfectly executed. Top tier stuff, truly.
So I paused the video after the show ended and wrote that comment and the hit play and Hector said exactly what I was thinking! That's hilarious! I truly didn't watch that until after I made my comment! 😂 Right on @hectorisfunny!

I only know Sunspot from the Marvel Snap game (I grew up with X-Men Evolution, but apparently I don't remember *any* of the characters outside the main team, since he was there too and I totally forgot 😂 ). So when he said his name, from the pronunciation, I was like, "Oh, he's Brazilian? Who is that?" Imagine my surprise to Google it and find out he's the guy who's on one of the best cards in Marvel Snap! 😂

Whenever I see Cyclops doing his landing in this episode I think of Captain America in Winter Soldier diving out of plane with no parachute. Both heroic leaders. This is such a great revival!

Great reaction gents. I love what we have seen so far. This brings back childhood when I first read the Uncanny X-men comics in the 80's. I was so fortunate that when I started reading comics the leaders of the two most popular teams in Marvel were lead by black women. Cap had just passed them mantle of leadership to the Avengers to Monica Rambeau (Captain Marvel) and Storm defeated Cyclops to gain leadership of the X-men.

In the 90s around the time of the Blue and Gold teams, I think I remember reading a letter column reply stating that the original X Men were now in their mid to late 30s.
Who knows how old they are supposed to be currently in the comics, since without a 'restart' they would be middle aged by now.
The wide shot of Storm on the sand with the lightning reminded me of Goku's first Super Saiyan transformation on Namek.
Ending the episode with the recontextualized "...to me, my X-Men" is just beautiful writing. As is Magneto's speech in episode 2. Just... I'm loving this show so far, and there's only been two episodes.

I think literally my only complaint is that Rogue doesn't really sound like the early twenties badass she once did. She sounds more like my 60-something chainsmoking aunt.

Yeah in truth this was my one complaint too. Wolverine too, to an extent. I don’t mean that as a sleight on the actors, their skills are just as exquisite as ever, it’s just hard to hide the age. There’s a reason even Elton John lowers the performance keys of some of his more difficult hits as he’s aged…age is a motherf*cker. Took me out of the immersion a bit in these eps, not gonna lie, but it wasn’t much. A minor gripe, in my opinion.
Yes, there’s a little difference to her voice, but I got used to it Very quickly, and I really enjoyed hearing all of the actors who voiced the characters from the original series.

Cyclops' landing got me thinking...can he then propel himself to some level into the air using his optic blast?
He was moving around the battlefield at the start of the episode using his optic blasts to propell himself around. Safe to assume he can get some good air if he wanted.

I am surprised that none of them, especially Hector, did not mention Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot, one of the original members of the New Mutants. Maybe hinting at introducing the rest of the original New Mutants, Dani Moonstar aka Mirage, Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane, Sam Guthrie aka Cannonball, and Shan aka Karma. Though if they are I would not be surprised if they throw in Illyana Rasputin aka Magik in for popularity sake like Fox did in their somewhat accurate live action New Mutants movie.
Also, is the baby Jean is pregnant with Nathan aka Cable or is it Rachel aka Phoenix. Based on Mr. Sinister in the themes song sequence and Jean saying their son to Scott that it is Nathan. But the moment in the Psychic vision when Jean is holding the baby it looked like a girl not a boy. So that has me thinking it is Rachel. And that is not even going into the whole Jean is Rachel's mom from the DoFP timeline and Madeline, Jean's clone, is Scott's wife and the mother of Nathan in the comics. I think they are just going with Nathan and Jean being his mother and not Madeline. Make things more straight forward and not so confusing for the audience.
If they go with Madeline... that would lead to Mr Sinister

I love Storm. She is my favorite of the X-Men. I always thought Thor and Storm would make a fantastic couple. Having said that Thor would own Storm. Sorry. He's just on another level when it comes to power rating.
