Do you think that they will use Adversary the trixer god from American Indian folklore that makes them use the mutant Forge then becomes more active in the series and that they will use that story in the series? Because if they use that god will they use the Demon bear saga later?
Magneto can deliver one hell of a speech
I started to cry when I saw Storm get shot, and her crying made me lose it.
That was soul crushing.
14:20 Romantic love has been the subtext of Erik and Charles' relationship in many versions of their story, whether explicit, consummated or neither. I personally appreciate that Rogue spells out that Magneto needed the helmet to block himself from feeling Charles' love.
Of all people it was Storm. One of the most proud mutants, who didn’t have a downside to her powers and was akin to an elemental goddess.
Magento showed so much restraint.

This is my favorite version of Magneto ever, and THAT is saying something. The story beats for Storm are setting up an incredible character study from the comics too that I love. And of course, who could possibly not be hype for Inferno coming to the small screen? This episode was the one that cemented this show as FULLY back, to me
“Don’t make me let you down”
My first thought at the ending was "How much of Inferno are we going to get???" There's so much potential in this storyline!
This episode had no business going this hard. WOW. This was amazing. Chef's kiss. No notes. Brilliant.
Every line Magneto speaks is so powerful and BARS!!!!
Just to be clear: It's all handdrawn 2D animation; 3D mock up for perspective reference is used, the handdrawn 2D animation is done over it.
Hearing Beast tell Storm she has lost her powers put me right back in the moment when I was told I had CRPS and my life would be a battle with constant agonizing nerve pain.
You hear nothing but a whirlwind of chaotic emotions stirring within you. Yet you can't move a muscle. You're frozen in this moment. Hoping to stop time from moving forward so you can hang on to your old life for as long as possible.
I have never loved Magneto more as a character on screen than in this one episode of tv! He still is the same man we knew as the antagonist in the original series, but to honor the memory and legacy of Charles Xavier, he is trying to be a better version of himself.
i think many of us xmen fans where hoping that magneto would honor Xaviers legacy to see him fulfill it and yet battle his inner demons makes ugly cry so hard
We still have to see what is the relationship between him and rogue I don’t trust them 😅😂

I thought Mystique as well, but my husband reminded me that a badly wounded Mystique goes back to her original form.

she could fake looking hurt but I believe its the real Jean that was in the cocoon at the bottom of the east river when the Phoenix made a duplicate of jean and went dark phoenix. They referenced the trip they took to space and sounds like the last battle in the Phoenix saga storyline. The person that Cy thought was Jean is actually Madelyn Pryor. Sinister created her but she didnt know it at the time. Her mission was to get Cyclops away from the xmen. Would explain why she was kind of "pushing" Cyclops to leave. We'll see who she really is in ep 3. Cant wait. @@thevikingbear2343

The second Jean is the real Jean. The "first" Jean who just gave birth is Madelyn Pryor. This is a plotline straight from the comic books.

Storm had powers when she became the leader of the Morlocks, she didn't use them but she had them.

In Ep 5 when Storm won leadership of The Morlocks she offered for them to come to the Mansion. They declined. So it wasn't that Charles didn't offer, they didn't feel worthy to be above.
Slight error in the recap of Storm losing her powers in the comics, when she fought and won her place as leader of the Morlocks she had her powers but did not use them under the rules of combat. She lost them later, through a similar weapon but as it was linked to ROM Spaceknight tech built by Forge, they rewrote it as Sentinel tech.
The Storm powerloss was around for a few years, and one of the most powerful stories addressing the loss was a double sized X-Men issue called "Life-Death", and looking at the forthcoming episode titles an adaptation of sorts is coming
The Morlocks scenes at the beginning suggests Storm will end up with them. But I would love her going back to Kenya to reconnect with people there. Hell maybe she even meets T’Challa while over there.
I remember the episode. The reason why Charles didn't bring the Morlocks up to their home was because they simply didn't want to come.
After Storm defeated Callisto in single combat and won the right to rule the Morlocks, she offered them the choice to live up on the surface. But when they expressed their concern for their safety, Storm changed here mind.
She promised them that once her and the X-Men make humanity accepting of mutants and the surface world safe for all mutants, then the Morlocks will agree to come up.
I also got the vibe that Magneto and Charles hooked up, Hector. You're not alone. lol
Love the nod and touch points to Age of Apocalypse with Rogue and Magneto touching and the use of Rogue’s power to act as supplemental telepathy!
One of you asked if Storm was afraid of the thunderstorm… remember on a basic level that the weather pattern mirrors her emotional state…

I feel like Storms storyline from here will see her go back to Africa.. maybe we see her rekindling or falling in love with Black Panther and she gives birth to Azari... which would be a great way to introduce avengers

3:13 they do get invited! In episode like 4 or something storm invites them to the mansion after beating Callisto. They turn it down saying the sewers are their home

Madelyn Pryor? Getting interesting fast. Also from the comics is that Storm is the only one Logan will back down from. He kinda always has her back.
I love what Hector said about Storm's arc because that's what I thought as well. And it helps because she can clean out any threat so it does become hard to write problems when she's so powerful haha I feel like a nerf that helps both her narrative individually and the general plot of the show. If it's done right, it's a great choice!

That ending scene with Magneto is one of the greatest portrayals in recent marvel history. The animation, the storyboarding, the voice acting just stellar.
What an episode! That was bold to do that to Storm. That attack reminded of the real world. This is so good, love the reaction! Can't wait to watch more!
Im so happy that since the old Xmen 90s ended we have gotten tons of XMEN stories which the directors can pluck out of the comics and straight into the new season.

Apocalypse could come back this season as well…and looking for a new Angel of Death…Remy did volunteer to do so in the comics…he’s got a reason to do it in the series…

Through the entire episode, I was wondering if they were changing the origins of Cable, so I was both relieved and excited to see Jean Grey pop in at the very end. What a cliffhanger!!!

PS: Hector is dead on…Magneto a bisexual icon in that suit. The hair too…dios mío. 100% he and Charles spooned for warmth in the Savage Lands during that arc in the OG series.

We already watched the episode in a theater.
In the original comic run, when Storm lost her power, I believe that led to her meeting up with Forge. Also, 2nd Jean? That's not Mystique, that's _Madeline Pryor._ Which ties in with _Mr. Sinister_ as a potential arc villian.
This episode made me cry. that's all I'll say.

Madelyn Pryor is part of a Hellfire storyline too, since Emma was White Queen for awhile working alongside her, many people forget that.

I mean yeah, im just babbling since im just excited on what story they will lean on to..10 episode might not cover this storyline since there are other characters coming back such as nightcrawler, forge, emma frost, sebastian shaw...with possitive reviews and seeing a lot or reactor channels are reacting to it, i just hope they will renew more seasons...

That doctor isn't a bigot, it's a general concern for everyone at the hospital. He even tried to explain the consequences of what could go wrong. They have to worry about every single patient at the hospital's safety, also it kind of makes no sense.. all during Jean's pregnancy they didn't see a doctor that treated mutants? This is why it's great writing even though you claim it's all bigoted or hatred, it's not blind there is legit concern on both sides and reasoning behind everything and their thoughts. There is extremes on both sides reflecting life perfectly.
I find it interesting that Morph can also copy physical mutations, i.e.:
- Lady Deathstrike's, Sabretooth's & Wolverine's claws
- Colossus' organic metal form
- Blob's durability/ bounciness
- Angel's wings, etc.

i was rewatching the original "days of future past" episodes and it deals with an "assassination". Are they likely to carry on down that road and play out the days of future past arc?

I can't tell if I want MCU Rogue to hv permanent powers (i.e. superstrength, flight & durability like she did in this), or if I'd prefer her to only hv her base powers (like she did in the X-Men films, X-Men: Evolution, and Wolverine & the X-Men).
It's kinda cool when she has those extra powers bcos it makes her feel more useful/ badass. However, I also like it when she the focus is entirely on the powers & skills (i.e. martial arts skills, medical knowledge 9:47, etc) that she gets from others tbh.
When I think they couldn't have made Magneto more badass I was dead wrong

I believe there is little CG in thi it's animated by Studio Mir, one of the Best 2d animation studios in the world and it looks incredible! One of the directores even confirmed that it's mostly hand drawn.

Hector shipping Cherik like the BOSS he is. Let's be real, tho, some of us have been on this ship for decades at this point! ^_^ But the Erik/Rogue pairing is true for the Days of Future Past storyline, being brought here, is kray. Like, I have no words for how surprising that they brought that pairing forward - I always thought the Gambit/Rogue pairing would reign forever.
I don't think the doctor was bigoted per say, I think it's a legitimate concern. We just Jean have a contraction that ripped the roof off Wolverine's jeep. I'd be terrified to do it to.
Why did Jean insist on going to a human hospital for effs sake, they have a fully equipped medical facility in their basement!

As a Storm player, I understood the call for nerfs. The glass tornado was admittedly OP and Jubilee players were not happy with their update. But I think we can all agree that the devs took things too far.
1:04 2:18 11:42 Ngl, it's cool that Magneto can create electromagnetic force fields, but I kinda wish he couldn't tbh. I like when telekinetic characters (like Jean) can fly & create force fields, but I think I prefer when Magneto can *just* manipulate metal - being able to manipulate electromagnetic fields makes him feel a bit too powerful imo 5:29.
