They are not trying to make Scott cool. They are portraying him correctly. The films misrepresented him. They are finally rectifying it

No, I mean yes except he wasn’t that amazing in the original 90s series either. Not sure about comics as I’ve only read a little bit of classic X-Men, though I think I’ve heard he’s one of the less popular X-Men amongst comic readers.
@@tempusspiritus nah cyclops has his fans. He’s basically what you get if you merge dick Greyson with Captain America. The original series did a pretty good job. He was a competent leader in it. He just constantly goes through it
Cyclops got punked in the X-Mrn movies.
Cyclops has ALWAYS been that guy, but Fox portrayed him horrifically, especially in the movies. FINALLY, Scott and Storm gets done right.
Absolutely in the comics. The movies did him horribly, and even the old cartoons, while they were way better than the movies obviously, didn't really nail comic scott the way this single episode just did. Games were the closest to the comics, but obviously have their own limitations.
@@KaleRylan What about X-Men Evolution. That version of Scott was cool, commanding, suave and tactical, while also being dorky, fallible and insecure. He had his own story arcs and realy grew into a brilliant leader. The romance between him and Jean was so well done and organic, but he had great chemistry with other girls as well. He also came off more as a protective older brother that the others looked up to, bit occasionally chafed under. And above all else, as serious as he was he knew how to have fun and connect with others. The dynamic he had with Nightcrawler was hilarious.
@iainwhite8617 not gonna lie, I was one of those people who was tainted by the movies and for the longest I hated Cyclops, even the og xmen cartoon i was on the fence about him,with the exception being xmen evolution cause he was cool and I thought that was because they changed him up a bit for the cartoon, but as I'm just now learning, apparently Scott has always been cool and a badass and the first episode of Xmen'97 helped me see that. Like I was ready to be annoyed with him before I watched it but I couldn't help but find him likeable. He'll it get me pumped up to play mutant academy or next dimension, though sadly I don't have a laptop that could run a emulator smoothly enough that I can properly play😂
@iainwhite8617 evolution cyclops is why I'm a cyclops fan. Fantastic depiction, but not even evolution showcased his fighting style this well. I still actually prefer his evolution personality though.
@ghostman779 mvc2 if you want a good fighting game depiction. Otherwise since it sounds like you're down for classic games the xmen legends or ultimate alliance games (1 and 3) feature him.

I LOVE that they acknowledged her like that. It's gon be interesting to see other powerful mutants they inject into the show. I'm sure they may introduce 1 or 2 more omega level mutants since they specifically called out Storm like that.

Nah check out the comics and you'll see how awesome Cyclops is lol. The movies and cartoons hardly ever did him justice.
The hell they didn't? Cyclops was a badass in the 90's. Very close to Claremont era with a bit of Jim Lee tossed in. Evolution was more of Stan Lee and Kirby's 60's X-Men. Only times they really did him dirty was the movies, the anime and completely cucked him in Wolverine and the X-Men. And I'm a die hard Captain America fan that's legally obligated to hate Cyclops.
@@solblackguyas a Cyclops fan myself, the original show did him dirty. They made him run away when his powers were shut down, but he stood his ground and fought in the comics against a Sentinel. Mastermold no less.
@solblackguy I didn't say there weren't any good adaptations at all! Just when there's unfortunately more mid portrayals than good ones it makes it hard for people to have good impressions of him, as we can see in this reaction. Those movies were hell on Scott's PR lol.

There's a reason Mr. Sinister is always trying his hardest to procure Scott's DNA for his experiments to make the greatest mutant. Scott has ALWAYS been him. He's one of the BEST characters in X-Men and I'm so glad he is finally getting the shine he deserves.
Scott is actually that bad ass. The movies did him dirty. He is even a character in Marvel Vs Capcom. If you check out the comics you will see how badass he is. Storm was also done bad in the movies as well. This animation did them justice. Great reaction 🎉

Morph can use the powers of the people he transforms into, Mystque can not.
Morph CANNOT use the powers of other mutants. He can take their form and mimic their physical attributes. Like if he transforms into storm, they can’t control the weather. But if they transforms into The Blob, he can mimic his durability to a degree. Another example, if they transform into wolverine, they don’t get his healing factor. They also don’t get his adamantium claws. BUT they would mimic a strong metal

Roberto is Sunspot. He was one of the New Mutants. I haven't read the comics since the early 2000's, so I'm not sure what his current status is, but he was a pretty cool character back then.
I wouldn't mind seeing a New Mutants show set in the same universe.

The way they played with the words of the title when magneto said “now belongs *to me* … *my xmen* “ was super awesome I thought
There’s so much I loved about it! Firstly, I love how they showed Cyclops’s full power set: the fact that his optic beams can be used as a concussive force as well as for moving around , incorporating that into his hand to hand combat, which if you look in the official Marvel handbook, pars on the levels of Wolverine, Shang-Chi and Captain America! Also shows he has perfect special awareness.
Also, the scen3 on the basketball court is reminiscent of X-men #1 drawn by Jim Lee in 1993! All of this plus so much more has me itching for the next episodes! The way they’re combining different storylines that expands years apart, so well written. From Rogue and Magneto’s Savage Land relationship to Storm losing her powers, to finding out the pregnant Jean was actually the Goblin Queen, Madelyne Pryor….im stoked and ready for more!

No. Morph always was able to use the abilities of whoever he morphs into. Mystique is the one that only takes the appearance.

To answer a couple of your questions… Morph can take on the physical attributes of a person. But not their powers. Like they can shapeshift into The Blob and have his physical durability. But if they shapeshift into Storm, they couldn’t control the weather.
The fifth season of XMen wasn’t expected. So they had to source out the animation to a different company.
Morph had the ability to do things like fly if he has wings, scratch if he has claws etc etc. But he doesn't take certain abilities even if he takes a shape. For example if he turns into Wolverine, he may have claws, but they aren't adamantium. So if he turns into Cyclops, he can't shoot concussive blasts from his eyes.

The version of Morph from X-Men '92 was poorly realized as with most of the characters back then. It's not that he copies abilities but rather emulates certain ones. The definitive version of Morph that they're now exploring is more like Clayface from Batman. Morph can change genders, copy voices, turn into gas or liquid, increase his size, increase his muscle mass temporarily, and make objects out of his own body like swords, spikes, wings, etc. He can emulate abilities that involves softening or harding which you saw when he turned into Blob and Colossus, and he can make weapons out of his body like he did when he turned into Psylocke wielding two swords, and emulate bird-like flight as you saw when he turned into Archangel.
Morph was born a fully developed mutant with no real face, hair, skin color, or body odor which makes him undetectable via scent too.
X-Men '97 is doing a far better job at making the characters explore their potential not just with their powers but with their physical prowess.
i was 8 when x-men came out in 92 this show helped raise me and a lot of 80's and 90's kids it made me be a good person it's so socially and globally conscious i love it x-men are the best superhero team ever also roberto is a mutant named sunspot and the way the show is headed i can tell they're going into the age of apocalypse which is gone be epic

Pretty sure season 5 is when they farmed the animation out to Portugal or some other country where they could pay a LOT less for animators (and got what they paid for).

The movies were bullsh*t. X-Men '97 doing it RIGHT!
Morph can copy the physical traits only of whoever he turns into; i.e, Archangel's wings for flight, Blobs blobbiness for stunts like with wolverine. I think he may be able to mimic some fighting abilities too, but he can't copy all powers. If he turned into Jean or the Professor he wouldn't have mind powers; or Storm he wouldn't control weather, so there are limits.

Assuming he and the 616 version are similar enough: Morph can copy physical abilities when he shapeshifts, has low to lower-md level telepathy, may have low level telekinesis depending on some stuff that may or may not have happened in the past of the animated series, and his body is basically play-doh.
Morph can only copy physical attributes so like angels wings and colossus skin but like he can’t copy cyclops powers or storm that would be synch from the comics who is also omega level 👍🏿

I only ever saw some of the X men 90’s cartoon but I’m definitely gonna rewatch jt but if I remember right Cyclops in that was alright but here they came out swinging 🔥 & in X-men evolution he was good too

The vision Maddy sees is a premonition to episode 5. "happy nation" is playing. Master Mold with the green explosion. Her holding Nathan (cable) and how the dust cloud in the vision runs towards Maddy the same way Cable does on the balcony.

also just an fyi a lot of alpha levels have omega level potential or are truly omega level marvel just hasn’t out right stated them as one yet. a lot of alpha levels have omega level feats
