The shop manual quotes the weight range from 6,000 to 15,000 pounds depending on configuration. When I secured the over-the-road hauler to deliver mine to me the paperwork stated 10,000 pounds. I can’t give you an exactly accurate weight. Sorry.

Great video I'm just getting ready to separate the frame on my Ford 555 just wondering how much work it is actually two separate the two sides? How much time do you think it took you to separate the two sides? I might backhoe the torque converter pump seal is leaking.

It only takes a couple hours to separate them. About an hour and a half if you’ve done it before.

Watched the other two videos, very interesting, I think your doing a great job, this is what people look for on "tractorbynet.com"
you would be surprised how much this series would help others, and you would receive a lot of good input yourself.

I need to replace my power steering hoses from steering to frame connection before they go
to block on frame or join the Ridgid block on frame I have one burst up behind the fuel tank to steering question is since I see you have your apart working on trans what all do I need to remove to get to the ends behind the fuel tank I can get to the other ends of the frame near the front but don't want to take off to much or more than I have to on this 555A so do i take top engine cover exhaust pipe and the top air intake and the tank out or is there another way to get them off steerig house pump

The engine cover should bolt to the top of the fuel tank and there are three bolts (two to the rear and one to the front) that hold the fuel tank in place. You can unbolt these to get the fuel tank out of the way (don't forget to unhook the intake line into the fuel filter from the bottom of the tank ((Double don't forget to close the fuel shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank))). Then I took a ratchet strap and ran it through the part of the top of the tank that the hood bolts to and hooked it onto the front bucket boom (You'll need to raise your front bucket and make sure you have a safety brace in place so it doesn't come back down). I used the ratchet strap to lift it up and forward and that cleared enough room behind it to get the wrenches in to the steering hoses. Hope that helps. Let me know how it turns out.

Either Traveler's Premium or Super S Supertrac 303 from Tractor Supply. Both meet the recommended Ford viscosity standard published by Ford for a 1981 Ford 555. Thanks for the question.
