Stay by the lake with the breeze coming off of it to avoid the black flies. They bite, can swarm you, and they LUV bug spray. Been going up there for over 40 years. It’s gorgeous. Enjoy!
Those black flies are nasty bast*rds! They like humid days with no breeze. I used to get swarmed just terrible. They loved me for some reason. One day I went running screaming waving my arms into a little convenience store along the highway to get away from them and a huge swarm of flies followed me in the door. The person working there passed out fly swatters to all the customers …LOL TRUE STORY. All you can hope for is the big lake has a nice breeze coming off of it and hang there. Otherwise, we saved bad flies days for napping inside or going for a drive.
Ruby cracks me up how playful she is, I love how she is such a good girl and stays close and doesn't run off. You can tell she really is enjoying zipping around on the beach 😏
It truly is. My ancestors settled there when they came over from England and Ireland. I spent over half my life spending my summers there and even lived there for a while. I hadn't been back since 2002 when my grandma died and we just did a very quick visit almost two weeks ago. It was good for my soul.
I just love Ruby and Rowan. Could watch them all day. Her simple life in a van she decked out herself in a parking lot is so moving. I find her very creative, very real and just so clever with her filming.

My dog liked ice cubes when his teeth hurt. He still likes them as treats but he really liked them when he was a puppy and he was getting his adult teeth.

My little dog Cisco loves when i can pick up from the grocery store a small piece of bone marrow, usually the butcher will give you free, i fill the centre withorganic peanut butter, just get at health food store, cheap, and freeze it. Good for his teeth, cools him down in summer, loves gnawing on it in general and really healthy, something different ❤❤
A bald eagle just ate a couple of our chickens the other day and I saw crows and a mockingbird chase it away the next day. Rudy is a joy. God bless and best wishes with all you're doing!
Sweet onion chips are amazing. Dogs can't have onion or garlic, it's toxic to their respiratory system. Also for her teething, you could get her a Kong ball or bone. If you can't afford that, you could let her chomp a piece of tree branch lol my dog loves them. Maybe you could get her a big bone from the butcher, it should be labeled soup bone. Sweet onion kettle chips are my favorite 😋 may want to get her a hartz flea and tick collar, they're good for a year and work great. I get mine at Walmart and the Hartz collar for fleas, ticks and the eggs. Never had any issues. I don't give my dogs any oral medicine for flea and tick, because I don't trust that. My family has always trusted Hartz collar since I was a child. Also if you get her shots, make sure to get the Bordatello shot so she's protected against anything an animal may have left disease wise ❤️ sorry for so much advice, but we love and care for you two and want the best for you. We enjoy our journey with you. Be safe ❤
My parents immigrated to the states when I was 3, in 1960. Back then you couldn't get SaltnVinegar in the USA. Old Dutch in Canada made them. My Nana would send us SaltnVinegar chips, Caramilk chocolate bars and meat pies 😂 Oh how excited we would get.
I think she would love to chase a ball or stick. You can get that one at the dollar store that has the long handle with the ball at the end and it just flip it that will give her so much exercise all the energy. She has stay safe and keep enjoying your life.

I live in Michigan, Traverse City is the best town to visit. Once you are finished in the UP if you travel down lake Michigan side you would enjoy the ride it's beautiful. Also you can take a ferry in your van from lake Michigan side over to Wisconsin if you didn't know. so happy you made it to MI its still cold but the great lakes are pretty.

Fun fact (for me): I had never seen a drain plug like the one you put on your sink til you showed us that one. And now there's one in the bathtub here at my new apartment. The best thing for moose is to see it in the distance. My oldest nephew used to call folded chips like that wish chips.

Oh, you went to my beloved Upper Peninsula!!! I'm half Yooper (Dad was born and raised there). Don't know anything about those Dutch Crunch chips, but I recognized the log and it's Old Dutch. I grew up eating those chips and only saw them when I went to the UP.
Are those flies "May Flies"? My husband battles with them when he fishes Lake Erie. Yours look much larger on the video than the ones that end up splatted all over his boat..lol.

How often do you find you do a mass clean out and clean up of your fan? As someone who suffers from pretty severe ocd, I could see me missing out on all the fun stop and exciting adventures that await you at each stop. I would be too busy reorganizing every square inch of the fan and do laundry and all the non fun stuff. I am 70 years old. Need to stop and smell the roses! Maybe your vlogs will inspire me!
Onions grapes garlic chocolate are bad for dogs I didn't know if you were aware of this and I see you eat allot of veggies, but I didn't know when I got my first dog, I'm not sure what they use to flavor the chips but you might want to be careful, I know she didn't eat any but just thought I'd mention it just in case.

I love how everyone cares so much for you and Rube's.. l have lived with dogs most of my life and Rowan those dry kibbles ..food is not good for dogs..l did a course with a couple of holistic vets...they reckon the commercial dry food is full of bad stuff...like take away for humans...l instantly threw the food in the bin...got meat from butcher..along with hearts etc..like what animals do in the wild...please take care you guys

For my cat I take some chicken pate mixed with a little water to make a gravy and add to kibble. Could do the same for Ruby. Kibble is too hard on her young mouth.

It is so beautiful when you see a bald eagle flying over you. 😊 I know you don’t have a freezer, but if you have a way of getting a washcloth really cold, Ruby can suck on that. Please remember, onions (onion flavoring) are not good for dogs. I learned the hard way what is and isn’t good for dogs. Please look up foods that are bad for dogs. There is a chart that I keep on my fridge, that I printed from the internet. On the flip side, another great video.

I know you don’t have a freezer, but if you have a way of getting a washcloth really cold, Ruby can suck on that. Also, this may sound funny but it works, frozen waffles or pancakes. They are tasty for her and will help with the sore gums.

I wish all places was safe for us women's, I got so afraid seen you alone on places! I pray for God to protect you. I was in my Van for 10 days with my daughter and was amazing! But I would wake up in the middle of the night to make sure nobody was trying something so I could have time to call the cops if needed. ✌️ For you❤

Please remember, onions (onion flavoring) are not good for dogs. I learned the hard way what is and isn’t good for dogs. Please look up foods that are bad for dogs. There is a chart that I keep on my fridge, that I printed from the internet. On the flip side, another great video.

I know people that put onion and/ or garlic powder on their dogs’ food daily.
Lots of dogs live on table scraps! Lots of dogs eat things that they find in the woods or in their back yard and they are just fine!!!
