Skull Merchant's drones seem pretty confusing at face value, so I hope this video will help you all be able to quickly counter them in your trials! What are your thoughts on Skull Merchant though? Comment below :) EDIT: to counter the 2 new changes to her power: 1. She now gains bonus haste for every survivor tracked on her reader (either by Claw Traps or survivors being inside Active Mode zones) - Counter this by staying out of Active Mode zones and removing Claw Traps IF the drone you had hacked was in a not so important location 2. When survivors hack a drone, the drone deactivates and stays in its location and doesn't go back to the killer until the survivor's Claw Trap is removed (it automatically removes after the battery dies) - This nerf counters 3 genning, by allowing 1 survivor to hack the drone over a gen, and not remove the Claw Trap voluntarily! - You'll no longer be able to hack multiple drones with a Claw Trap on you though, so you'll have to remove it before hacking another drone :)
She seemed pretty powerful tbh way stronger than the community gave her credit for. That's just my opinion as casual mmr with my friend and two randoms and not a bully squad at high mmr lol. Her walk speed and lunge feels longer and faster and covers alot more distance than on paper of her being normal move speed killer. Love your content as always bro.
She is the most tedious killer to play against by far, and that's saying something. Every game turns into a long slog, with the killer just zone camping to set up a 3 gen, which then goes on until the survivors give up from boredom. Whoever approved this killer is an idiot.
Yeah I still don’t understand how you play vs skull merchant in a 3 Gen I still generally confused how you counter her. You can’t stay exposed in the scan mode cuz you’d be giving her speed boosts and you can solve the scanner cuz you’d be giving her speed boosts plus she’s oblivious and can track you? I don’t understand how to beat her like are you supposed to get rid of the claw trap then do a gen even though she knows where you are? I’m so lost. Just came back to dbd
Yup just got gen camped already loving this. They took us to the lodge and camped mid shack and a random gen couldn’t do anything since they just dropped chase.
What annoys me *the most* is it doesn’t matter if you get rid of the drone cause she can just plop down another one instantly Most SkullMerchants I’ve played against barely/don’t chase at all they just gen camp She is one of the most boring killers to play as and against Just me ranting
One thing I don't like about the new killer she can place her drone back in 10 seconds after you finish disarming it then it will keep on scanning with in the proximity of a generator you will never have a chance to proceed.
That is a feature. If killer commits to territorial defense, they don’t chase anybody. That can be punished by having boons and/or resetting away from her ground. It would be a very bad killer if they could not reset their traps quickly. Survivors (when coordinated) would just disable them and killer would have no power.
Even though she's been reworked a little, she's still a major pain to play against. Not a single game I've gone up against her now and successfully escaped. And most games end in 4k kills, or 1 hatch play. She's just too damn annoying and unfun to play against. She gets too much information, and has too much in her benefit with her drones.
You forgot something important (And forgive me if you actually said it but I didn't noticed): you can "hack" the drone as soon as it goes to ground level in scan mode, you don't have to wait until it goes to scout mode to hack it.
Yes! If no one is spotted inside an active mode zone for 20s the drone will go to scout mode. But in that 20s timer if anyone steps inside the active zone, the timer will reset back to 20s :)
This is by FAR the most boring killer to play against. I'm just gonna either DC or let her kill me I'd rather not stay in one game for 20 minutes while dealing with a 3 gen camp
This killer is not omni-present. Also, not everything needs a counter. Power is meant to give effect, and the more reliable the better. Imagine if one could undo pig’s trap by just pressing a button as she puts it down - that would be abused immediately. However, exposed, even if permanent, can be played around. People lose psychologically because they are too afraid of having only one state. Iridescent aura plague exists, and it is not a big deal, 3 gen or not, even though the idea is the same (permanent exposed and aura read).
@@kingol4801 very dumb argument everything needs a counter thats the base of balance. Imagine if survivor said well “2016 cowshed was fine not everything needs a counter” she should be nerfed or reworked because 3 gens with overcharge and brine is literally not winnable without a swf.
@@sh6rpshot i don't think you don't understand 2 things here : first soloqueue teammates and the most important thing being that if the killer does nothing all game but decide to camp 3 gens close by at the start it can't be countered + its very toxic.
Most killers prioritize three gens over the others it's the 3rd thing in every guide. If it were Knight, I'd understand. If eruption wasn't nerfed, I'd get it. But if a killer with no chase power can stand near 3 gens and beat you, that's tough. If you don't get mind gamed, you can loop her easy even with the exposed just stay injured and dead hard. And because she has to drop chase to protect the other gens. there's no fear
serious question , why do people avoid playing against skull merchant instead of learning how to play against it? I'm new to the game but from what my friends that Do actually play the game they just k@## them selves playing against merchant instead of trying to learn how to play against it, I think now a days people just want everything too easy, then the devs do that and then they complain that there is no variety or everything is too easy
I wish her drones didn’t cover all floors of a building makes meat packing factory and midwich really hard to play against her. But, other than that I think she’s fine
Indoor maps and multiple floor places are definitely her best maps, but on a positive note if the drone is in scouting mode and not on the same floor as you, you’re all set! :)
Because it's the internet and if you don't know something someone else does, also a good way to say you interacted with someone even if not physically. Like you and me are doing right now
pressure two different gens at a decent distance away from each other so she’s forced to go between them and if you have a claw trap, don’t work at the high priority gen with your team or else you’ll bring her there
@greg She's impossible to avoid in indoor maps. Ran into one on RPD with Call of Brine and Overcharge. The drones can still expose you even if you're on a floor above or beneath it. It's impossible to disarm the drones and stop the gen regression before she gets back
@@nasirthesenatejohnson6935 Play against her like you would against iri aura plague - don’t heal, do gens regardless of her exposed. It is funny that when killer’s power is remotely reliable survivors cannot take it.

Yes I mentioned this! That’s a very important piece of information, waiting for the drone to go back to scouting zone might take too long :)
That doesn't seem to work when you have a claw trap on though? I can't figure out this whole drone thing

Glad the video was helpful :)
What are the prices for the new survivors and killer it’s because I can’t play I got banned because this guy thought I was hacking ….

Yup, you have to reactivate it with your device
Yes! If no one is spotted inside an active mode zone for 20s the drone will go to scout mode. But in that 20s timer if anyone steps inside the active zone, the timer will reset back to 20s :)
