  • Today we're doing a pretty cool video! I got this Shogun Warriors Godzilla that was damaged and incomplete. With a little TLC and parts from Shogun Plastics I was able to get this Giant Monster back in the fight. Enjoy and Cheers! #shogunwarriors #godzilla #mattelshogunwarriors #shogunwarriorsgodzilla #jumbogodzilla #skunkworkscustoms #shogunplastics

    You know what would be cool? An add on screen accurate back fins spine kit. Oh Derek!

    Looks great! I was like 15/16 when these first came out. Maybe the spring for the fist. Is simply too big or long? Causing the fist not to line up. Or the spring isn't tight enough? Like if it was crunched up tighter it might line up?

    LOL At least I know I'm not alone. Dealing with some A-holes too. I had guys with Rom pieces who just were asking totally stupid prices. I bought another incomplete ROM and put him together. But ya the arm and legs were too loose. But it looked new again at least. I only had a few tiny screw drivers to use too.

    Great video! Quick question, I've got one with loose joints as well & maybe you said how and missed it, but how'd you tighten up the leg joints?

    • @skunkworksstudios
      @skunkworksstudios  Год назад +1

      Yep there’s an easy way. Get some little black hair tie rubber bands and double them up and slide them over the arms and legs into the socket and that will tighten the joints up.

    • @skunkworksstudios
      @skunkworksstudios  Год назад +1

      Sorry for the late reply. I’d go an acrylic of some kind. You may have to blend the colors to match. Viaje makes some good paint. There are also some good paints for gaming miniatures that will work as well.

    Quick question. I have a Godzilla that was missing the spring/button that would launch the fist. The tube is still in the arm but everything else is missing inside. I found a parts Godzilla with intact tube and spring. It is still attached to the arm. I can unscrew the screw; however the button will not let the mechanism slide out. The one step missing in the video is how the external button attaches and/detaches. Not sure if that makes sense and I just did not want to tug on the button. Any help would be appreciated

    • @skunkworksstudios
      @skunkworksstudios  Год назад

      That’s a tricky one. The button has a hole that slides over a peg on the inner firing pin. Try putting the arm in hot water and turning the button gently and trying to get it to release off the pin. Mine had the button missing so everything slid out. The small peg was still intact. Make sense?

    Have you ever restored a ROM Spaceknight figure/toy from Parker Brothers (1979). I've got two but need to circuit boards.

    • @skunkworksstudios
      @skunkworksstudios  4 месяца назад +1

      No but those were cool. Very hard to find. Have you looked at Toy Poloi or Tinker Toy Tim?

    • @micpar2
      @micpar2 4 месяца назад

      @@skunkworksstudios No I only saw a guy who stumbled upon a electronics warehouse closing, I guess. He had like ten or more of the Rom toy circuit boards. But by the time I saw the video he sold them all to one person. trying to fix a ROM is a pain. You need special tools to take him apart. With out breaking or cracking the parts. I had three traded one away. But still have two I bought together. As well as a loose body one and extra three weapons he had and the impossible LED power cord too. I need a pro who has hopefully done it before. I'm thinking of e-mailing HASBRO. To see if they'd put out a new much better made version and make the body chrome looking. Not ugly battleship grey like he was in 79.

    • @kewrock
      @kewrock 2 года назад +1

      @@skunkworksstudios I got a foot pad from SP last year. It's flexible, which should be better. But I left something touching it for a few months, and it permanently conformed to the shape of the thing it was leaning against. I emailed him a couple time, but he never got back to me.

    • @skunkworksstudios
      @skunkworksstudios  2 года назад +1

      @@kewrock that’s odd. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with him! But every interactions different. I know as a creator sometimes materials break down over time. That’s the downside of not being a major producer of goods. I also know I’ve purchased 3D printed items that have broken down in 6 months and the manufacturer basically said too bad. It’s really all a crapshoot. But it sucks you had a that happened especially considering what we pay for the e repro parts. I wish I had an easy answer to it. But I don’t. My G zilla sits on my shelf. I’ll check and see if there is any material degradation with those claws. That’s really what I worry about when I’m comes to repro stuff.

      @@skunkworksstudios Hey. I missed your response. Somebody suggested soaking the part in hot water. Amazing. It went right back to it's proper shape. But it happened again. My place is pretty tight. Stuff gets piled up.
