- Welcome to my little pocket rocket of a car, the Audi S1 Quattro! as mentioned in the video, while I did buy this car, predominantly my girlfriend drives it the most, but considering my other cars are all dual clutch or automatic, it is great to hop into the Audi S1 when I feel like driving a manual car and staying on top of heel-n-toe etc - plus being a compact little hot hatch with lots of power it's loads of fun!

The Audi S1Quattro has 230bhp and 270b ft of torque all put to the ground via the Quattro all wheel drive system that really stands this car apart from others in it's space. Check out the video for the full introduction!

My S1 has got 320hp, Forge intercooler, high flow dump valve, BCS titanium downpipe with sports car and light weight team dynamic 18" wheels with Michelin pilot super sport on 👍🏻 get this done and it transforms the car 👍🏻

I have a Yellow S1 as well. I had mine remapped at ABT and it's now 310/320 bhp. and 440 nm torque. You think 230 bhp makes you smile. Try it with a remap lol

To be more specific why FWDs torque steers is that one driveshaft is longer and other driveshaft is shorter.
So what's happening here is that the shorter shaft gets instant power delivery were the longer is suffering from slight twist and you have tiny power delivery delay on left wheel. Right wheel gets instant delivery and it pulls you to one side. 😉

FWDs torque steer because the driven wheels are able to move the steering wheel depending on which wheel has more grip.
More grip on the right; steering wheel turns anti-clockwise. More grip on the left; steering wheel turns clockwise.

This is my favourite car atm I have the A1 sline I wrapped it chrome matte blue. Love it and I also went a test drive in the S1 stunning. There's a guy selling a 14 plate s1 for 25k but he's done tuns of Apr maps to it so it's now putting out an amazing 400hp and 390lft WOW

I got a 2013 current shape Fiesta ST. It's a great car and fast and it would be stupid with a flappy paddle gearbox. I kept it standard so even though it's front wheel drive it's around the 197BHP mark, love the thing. I think I'll buy the next one when it comes out. Living in Dorset it's great for the country roads. If the Audi was cheaper I would have looked at it too.

Can I just say that I'm enjoying watching your vids immensely. But after switching between a couple of vids I've noticed you have a way bigger smile on your face from using the manual box in this car. I've just bought a 987.2 Cayman S and I'm SO happy I went with a manual box - they're a dying breed and seeing as you have the means I would HIGHLY recommend buying your next supercar/sports car with that option if it's available.
What you lose in 0-60 you gain in man points and driver involvement! ;-)
Agree manuals are a lot of fun but I'm smiling because this thing is cheeky - the F12 makes me feel the best by far! A proper manual Supercar would be cool...we'll see 😉
This looks like the perfect little car for where I live, near the mountains! I imagine the cornering through canyons would be so much fun, and without the worry of having so much power to lose traction which could be quite dangerous in tight areas. Very very cool man!

Whoooahh dude, you in a car with passenger back seats and four doors!! Thought you were gonna freak out for a moment! (lol) I have never seen an S1 until this video (didn't even know about em) and I've been driving audi's for years. Thanks for the clip. By the way those seats look bad ass from our viewpoint so while we know this is a step down from the supercar seats you're accustomed to being glued too, and that most of us have never even sat in, we appreciate your honesty here but forgive us if we take that part with a grain of salt. ;-)
Ha ha sure - I think it's just a personal preference. They look cool but I don't seem to get truly comfortable in them and they might be a tiny bit too "high" too

You don't get more power putting in higher octane fuel, unless it's tuned for that or you have different maps to change from.
Nice little run-around. However I would've waited for the Focus RS or got a Golf R or Cupra Sub8.

In my country, Romania, you can't get the driving licence if you don't know how to drive a manual car. You can have driving lessons on an auto, but the driving exam must be taken on a manual.

I´d say torque steer is when the torque turn the front wheels. A common problem as mentioned.

Love the video, but a lot of what you said about the A1 Quattro was wrong. The A1 Quattro was more powerful (256bhp vs 231bhp). There was 333 made, and I believe 17 in the UK.
I say all of this because it is a dream car for me. The A1 Quattro can also go much better with tuning, MTM can get it up to 380BHP.
I actually think it's 20 in the UK and the S1 has more torque than the A1 Quattro - the type of power you really want from a turbo car. I'm sure they can both go a lot further with tuning.
I currently have an a1 185, my S1 comes March the 1st, I haven't test driven one yet so it'll be a surprise, but I'm going for revo map after a while hoping for 330bhp, then maybe stage 2 later on with golf r turbo and other upgrades to about 400bhp !:)
Haha, no way! Love these things; I have a Celtic tuning remapped black edition A1 2.0tdi (I commute 70 miles a day so need the economy), so this video grabbed my attention. Started watching, and I can pretty much see my house go by in the first two minutes of the video! Good video. I'll keep an eye out on the roads. I'd love to know how well the remapped tdi pulls in comparison to one of these, and I'd LOVE to see what a 300bhp+ S1 would be like!
