my mechanic forgot to plug the hose at 0:18 and my car ran without the hose plugged for a couple of weeks, i finally figured it out when the engine was making a strange noise and i could hear the air from the unplugged hose, do you think it might have caused some damage ? Because a couple of weeks later the oil pressure light came up and i had to replace the oil filter that was making some noise and had some defect, all seems to be working fine now but im left wandering if that unplugged hose
It's possible that if the pcv hose was left disconnected it could allow pressure to build up in the crankcase which could possibly cause oil to leak at gaskets like rockers and crankshaft seals and timing chain covers or oil pan gaskets. You may have lost oil because of that and that could explain the oil pressure light. It's hard to say if it could have caused any damage but keep an eye on the oil level.
@@screwsnutsandbolts oil level is fine but from a visual inspection oil seems thinner idk maybe it's placebo, is it possible the oil have lost some viscosity or quality?
Hi S-N-B, could you tell us what engine is this..? for example, mine is a BKY, 55KW/75HP (Polo 2007, 1.4L, petrol) .. would you know where is the PCV located? thanx! Also, Tamerwilliams below commented that "this is not the PCV!", could you possibly clarify?
Nice
Thanks !

What are the symtoms of a bad pcv valve? is it possible that a malfuction valve makes the car "hicup" sometimes?
Have a look at this link: www.masterparts.com/blog/how-to-test-and-replace-a-pcv-valve-on-your-car/
