Perfect example of size matters regardless of how trained you are. This is exactly what a fight between Bradley Martyn and Devon Haney would look like.
I agree! People underestimate bodybuilders and people with a bodybuilder physique. A bodybuilder has developed pretty much every muscle in their body more than the average human and they can unleash an insane amount of power in a short amount of time. If all your muscles are developed you will be able to of course generate more power but also move much faster and in ways that many people can't move. Endurance is the biggest issue with a bunch of muscle, but for the first 60 seconds a pro bodybuilder could potentially run over a pro fighter.
I disagree strongly! Unless a Body builder develops the kinetic chains used in striking for *power*, and an understanding of the mechanics of striking-- I believe you'll see them doing poorer than you think. However, their mass is valuable for taking shots, and their strength is absolutely *not useless*, if not ideal. I believe that's why the concept of "farmer strength" exists. Farm work requires more power and muscle endurance, which translate better to fighting. Sapp was an NFL player, and much more of a power focused athlete than a bodybuilder! Not that he didn't train and eat for size, too, plus all the 'roids. Anecdotally, I can say that I tested lbs psi for a right hand with a buddy who was a bodybuilder, probably 80lbs heavier than I was. It wasn't even *close*, and I'm no world champion! He absolutely embarrassed me at pull ups later though-- again he had the technique and trained systems. Don't believe my anecdote though, even if it's true. There's video out there of lightweight fighters throwing harder than NFL lineman and bodybuilders all over the internet
Bob Sapp just rushed him, barely any technique at all. That is why it was so hard for Hoost who plays chess with other kickboxers, he uses his set ups and technique to win, not his power. That's probably why Cro Cop handled Sapp easier since Cro Cop had good technique (not as good as Hoost) but he could also use power and be a bull himself a lot of times.
I don’t know how Hoost lost to Sapp in any of their fights. Hoosts is the more skilled fighter. Those leg kicks were devastating. Sapp is a bruiser. No real fighting skill and has NO cardio.
Because Hoost was arrogant, leg kicks were clearly working but he wanted to trade punches because he thought he was so superior and that Sapp was just a big football player while actually he was a genetic freak that did really well off little training when he wanted to win.

Sapp actually tried to win this fight. Other fights were rigged for him to lose. Yall too naive
Hoost’s ego was his biggest enemy.
All Hoost had to do was keep kicking that left thigh, Sapp was already gimping from it. Would have crumbled.
I'm still lost til this day on what the fuck happened here lol WTF!!!!
As vezes o Bob Sapp surpreende, raramente mas, surpreende.kkkkkkkkkkkkk
I still can't believe it.
Sapp punching after the bell.
