    I love how people complain about how poorly a 350 cc motorcycle performs on an interstate. This bike is a secondary road cruising gem. Want interstate, buy the 650. There is a certain joy from being able to use all of a bikes horsepower most of the time. Keep that right hand cranked, keep sharing when you do. Nicely done. 👍

      Really had a fun time riding this beauty through the Flint Hills of Kansas. Planning a return trip this fall. Wahoo!

      I hope you weren't insinuating that I was complaining about the bike and how it won't go on the interstate. I didn't say any such thing. I was bragging about the Tripper and how I used it to stay off the interstate and especially around the DFW area where I live. I know what you are talking about though, I have read peoples complaints about it not being fast enough also. By the way, the 650 wasn't available 3 years ago when I bought mine or otherwise, I might have considered it. But 3 years ago, I was 65 and my going fast days are pretty much over. I leave that to my 21 y/o son that rides and Indian Scout 60. LOL

      @@randyolson7255 Not at all. I was only agreeing with you ! I bought mine 3 years ago as well. Sold my R1100RT shortly after. I turned 65 last May. Been riding for 50 of them I never really did have an interest in high speeds. Take care. Cheers

      @@lancerbiker5263 I had a 750 Triumph back in the 70"s. It was a 72 Bonneville. Had a lot of fun on that bike. But as much as I liked that bike and wish I still had it I think I would still prefer to ride the Meteor. All the RUclips reviews I have watched over the years all seen to have the same theme. Most of the comments I hear are "this bike just puts a smile on your face".

    I have had my Meteor 350 now for 3 years this month. (August of 2021 when I bought it) I have put on Longride saddle bags, a windshield, an engine guard (so I could attach a pair of LED lights), touring foot pegs and a touring seat, and lastly a DNA filter. I have just a little over 11,000 care and trouble-free miles on it. I am from Iowa originally, and now live in North Texas. My son and I are planning a road trip from here to Iowa in October. He rides an Indian Scout 60. I enjoy your videos. I used to watch O'l man Ronin and he is the reason I bought my Meteor. (He has since passed away), but he too has a lot of good videos about the Meteor. My longest trip so far is just a little over 200 miles one way when my son and I rode from North Texas down to Georgetown TX to see an old friend. Used the Tripper navigation to keep us off the highways. Interstate 35 from Dallas to San Antonio is supposed to be the deadliest stretch of road in the US. I wouldn't ride that on a faster bike. But the backroads are the best for this or any bike if you're not in a hurry. We are headed to cental Iowa is where I grew up. But maybe we can swing over that way either on the way up or on our way home.

      @@forgottenmotorcycles I figure it would be a good time to visit my brother. He lives in Eastern Nebraska. I wasn't planning on that visit, but that will make it easier to come by your way on my trip to central Iowa. I am originally from around the Marshalltown area between Marshalltown and Grinnell. So, keep an eye out for us Texans in October. lol

      What MPG do yall get on the meteor 350? I heard 85-96 MPG. That is what made me wanna purchase this bike.

    • @randyolson7255
      @randyolson7255 2 месяца назад

      @@brandonboss6868 I have always gotten anywhere from 85 - 91 mpg. One time I got around 70 and I'm not sure if that was one of those trips I took where I was going full bore for a several miles, or if I just put a little more gas in it than usual. When you fill it, they recommend not going over that divider and I might have filled it up past that. Not sure if that would make that much difference. LOL. But you can't go wrong if you want an economical ride.

      @randyolson7255 heck yeah! Seeing 80-90+ mpg makes me so happy and even more excited to make this my first motorcycle purchase!! I will take that tip! Thank you! If you have any other tips that would be great! Especially on how to properly downshift or up shift for best MPG without hurting the bike, too. I'm still a brand new rider. Please, and thank you!

    I am glad you liked the Meteor 350. I love my Meteor 350. I get between 70 and 80 mpg just be-bopping around the streets of Houston Texas. I'm going to order me a touring seat. If nothing else, that seat looks cool.

    Speed limit in UK is 70mph on motorways so it will be fine for me 🙂

    I use one of those collapsible cots from Thermarest that assembles with shock cords that hold the perforated nylon “mattress” few inches off of the ground. Poles, mat, and hooped feet break down to about the size of a bread loaf and has its own mesh bag. Throw a Thermarest inflatable sleeping mat on the cot and sleep great. For hot desert camping I just sleep directly on the cot as the perforations let air circulate all around me. Aerostich has a version of this cot as well.

    You certainly put more miles on these Enfields than most people do. Honest question, without the hype, how would one of these 350’s do on a real long trip? About 9000 miles round trip. With time obviously not playing a factor, would a Classic or Bullet make the trip comfortably? Just curious as to your opinion since you seem to ride more than the average bear.

    • @forgottenmotorcycles

      I've got about 8500 miles on my Classic with no problems. Am sure these bikes would do it fine. Just did a 1000 mile two day trip to Kansas on a 350. It worked great 😃

    lovely.. i almost got one..but we are 2 up 90% of time.... this not quite powerfull enough we are quite chunky.. so i got the 650 interceptor.. and i dont really ride that any faster than i would a meteor..it just has lovely torque for the 2 of us...

      I don't know my old res well enough to give you exactly what it is. It's a single cylinder. Probably a 250 or a 350 with a unit engine from the '60s. I may have done a video on it like a year ago. I'll find out more information. Probably do another video on it soon. Thank you!
