Well done, straight to the point. I just didn't realize I would need to remove half the car to change radiator 😂😂. Thanks
The arrows where the bolts are helped so much, quantity and size helped so much! Thanks!!
Thank you for this video. My son had a small fender bender in his Golf TDI and we are replacing the radiator core with junkyard parts. This will make the breakdowns much easier.
Nicely done. To the point, lots of detail, and under ten minutes. Thanks!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Kamden Stanley Instablaster :)
@Ira Jonah i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Ira Jonah It worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out !
@Kamden Stanley Happy to help =)
most complete video and best angle of camera, pointing everything very understandable, not too much talking about bullshit, but on the point, even music in video is not annoying...I watched a lot of videos, bro, you did a great job, thank you, keep up with quality work, cheers
Thanx dude! I started taking it out from the top before watching this. I bet you just saved me a massive headache and busted knuckles man. Thanx again!
You're a Saint and a wizard. Thank you. This video helped me save 500 bucks.
Great video, very well explained. Helped me out 100%. Thanks
Great instructional video. I'm handy with tools, but not a mechanic. RUclips makes me brave enough to try stuff. Get the right tools and you can do this. I have seen other instructionals that don't involve removing the front clip. I'm sure glad I DID !! So much easier when everything is apart.
great video!! been looking for an in depth guide. thank you!
Great video well detailed and easy to follow instructions...thank you bro...
Very specific tutorial, helped a lot.
My whole front is wrecked from a crash i was involved in so this helps a lot thanks
Thank u soooooo much!!!!! I crack me housing piece so I have to replace the whole radiator and hose now
no-so PRO TIP. Make sure you don't switch out the four screws going into the front of the radiator for the slightly longer ones! It's just enough to puncture the radiator tanks (black plastic) and really bum you out.
Great video, was really helpful :)
Thank you so much
Thanks very helpful with out you something would of gotten broke for sure Thankyou again
amassing this is good to learn about the parts of your car before you go to a mechanic
Hi, thanks for the video. I have to do this job in a 2012 Tiguan, would it be a similar procedure or can replace the water radiator without taking everything off? Thanks so much!
To make draining easier take off coolant Reservoir cap to release suctionmaking all the coolant drain faster and easier from the knob and not from hose making a mess but awesome video I love it :)
Hey Man. Thank you very much your video HELPED!!!!!! Me Big time. I watched your video well I was changing my Radiator step bye step awesome video with out this I would have been lost on a few things. Only Differens is your vw is standard mines Auto........ but I do have one Question on mine I have the A/C lines going in on the passenger side of radiator can I take them. Off with out loosing anything or Decompressing it. I
Ty bro
Help me out 100 percent,,thanks
Awesome video! I needed this to replace my rusty radiator on an '08 mk5. Thanks for sharing!
Good job dude😂 but I was cringing when you didn’t remove the cap off your coolant reservoir... it would of let go of the vacuum 😂 gotta say your way was faster tho👌🏽💯
Unequivocally opening the reservoir cap releases the vacuum. Unequivocally, it was closed when you opened the drain, because it clearly had a vacuum on it, since it didn't drain quickly, until you cracked the lower radiator hose. Best practices seems to be 1) open the drain, then 2) open the expansion tank; this way you don't get a rush of hot coolant, immediately. Awesome video, but you're a little touchy in the comments; learn and grow. Thank you SO much for the detail and great production/editing - by far the best one on this topic.
Good
are these the same steps I have take for my 2000 Passatto replace the radiator
So if I got the radiator support replacement I wouldd have to take apart the hole radiator to get the new one put on?
I didn't catch in the video on how much time you think this might take for someone with just a little bit of car mechanic experience and all the tools already available. What's your estimate on how long this takes?
Can you change the radiator support with out draining the coolant?
The square metal part for the cars without ac radiators fits on one car who has ac radiator?
what if u have a turbo wagon is it the same as without
We have a 2014 VW jetta would replacing the radiator be the same
4:32 Amen
hi guys. i have aproblem with my MKIV radiator fans. the big fan does not turn what can i check? also can one get those fans seperately?
thanks in advance
Does this video translate to 2010 VW Jetta S 2.5L?
Can i change the front mask without unistall the cooling?
I can't get the rubber bushings / mount to the radiator off the old one when I tried to take one off it ripped I'm afraid to take the others off what should I do
So there's only 4 bolts that hold the radiator on?
How many radiators in ve jetta 2017 ?
1 or 2 ?
How do I remove the AC "canister"?
My Radiator Shot! How much would a Job like this Cost to fix?
NIce video, is this the same process for a MK4 Jetta vr6?
Seph Iroth yes
I have a 2002 Passat 1.8 turbo - radiator and fan blown, would this video be the same to replace them? I have used parts that would fit, but not the knowledge of how to replace.
Thanks for confirming.
Do you have any recommendations for a radiator upgrade? I have a 2012 VW Tiguan. During hot sommers and heavy traffic, my temperature gauge sometimes goes a couple of lines past the midway point. I never goes higher then a couple of lines, but it does worry me a little.
Yes in Miami. I thought the radiator may be struggling, it sometimes stays on for a few minutes after I turn off my car. I never really looked at the different coolant types.
Ok, I will do that. Thank you for the advice!
You have any video on polo gt
No I don’t :/ we never got the polo
hello, i have a mk 4 golf i replaced the rad with a pattern part one. my question is can you show me the exact way to put the top hangers on as i think i may have them upside down and my rad is rattling...ive had the front off 3 times now...getting desperate. many thanks
yes items 23 and 24...
Tin Man same problem
The hose attachments on old radiator you took clamps off them and then didnt take them off i can't just twist them off is there a trick or tool to get them off old radiator?????????
Derwin Spears channel lock pliers, grip and twist
Is this the same step to Passat 2001 1.8 ? Thanks
wow super ggod thanks man
Wait I might be late to the party but it looks like the radiator can be removed from the front clip with the fans still attached because they're on the radiator itself? Is this correct?
always more than one way to skin a cat :)
Is this process the same for a 2002 vw jetta 1.6
I know that's why I read surprised to see thesr this one was
Was**
Will it be fairly obvious how to remove the AC without depressurizing?
Yes
Very helpful, thanks! I appreciate the reply, and the video.
How do you keep the ac system from de pressurizing though?
So i cant get the old bUSHINGS OFF THE old rad
Stupid question, what is the small radiator like thing close to the passenger tire? An oil cooler?? I don't know how to find the answer Googling. Thanks!
Small cooler cools the turbo air.
Lol this is a vr6. Not turbo. That's a secondary radiator. Helps cool the system. Not an intercooler.. Old thread anyways
Is this pretty close to a golf tdi of the same generation?
Yup pretty much the same
Interesting that you took the whole piece off ... most videos try to work within a small space
Alot of work for a radiator i have to do my polo2002
Holy shit, I was just asked by one of my friends to change the water pump and radiator on one of these, I said no ,I'll pass
Is this process similar to a 2014 Passat SE?
I’ve never personally done this on a 2014.
Ok thank you
Wrong coolant was in that vehcile. Vehicle should have OEM Pink Coolant for maximum Radiator and Cooling Efficiency. No wonder he replaced it.
True mixing the coolant is also a very bad thing todo as well that causes the two coolants to horribly jell up.. But The universal coolant isnt designed to properly lubricate the waterpump, and the green coolant causes alot of corrosion in the german engines, not always, but it has happened many times with green coolant in the engines.
Ive just always used OEM Coolant in Volkswagens, as for any other car that takes standard coolant i use peak global as well. I just personally from experience wouldnt use green coolant of any kind in a German Car. Especially because German cars are extremely sensitive, and very picky.
@@swtmnk3 You are totally wrong. VW, BMW, Audi and Mercedes specifically state on every manual to use european coolant. I have an 01 jetta wagon myself. I used to think the same thing. But after replacing two radiators in a year. I only use the coolant from VW
I replaced my 2014 jetta radiator most of these steps dont apply. Any questions comment and I'll help. It was actually pretty easy
2.8 liter to remove fans are there an easy way.
I technically just totalled my MK4 Jetta a couple nights ago so hopefully this vid helps lol (not really lol tho. fml.) I need to pull the frame out and the core support is fucked.
oh no, hope everyone was ok!
Almost the thing I had to do to my beetle
VW do not use T27 - it will be dirty T30!
NOT G12 COOLANT😂😂😂😂
/BCENZtube yeah I was just messing with you I don’t have G12 and don’t have time to do all that but I do have a leak from the fan switch them sensor I think that’s what it is called it in the left side of the radiator but I need to seal that up
Wrong Coolant!!!
VolkswagOn? Seriously?
If you don't put year and model this is fucking useless.
I'm sure there is anther video on RUclips if you need someone to hold your hand.
My search terms were "B5 passat radiator replacement" and this was the first result and is completely useless to me... there's no commonality to my car. Please adjust your keywords.
@@swtmnk3 10/10 for your reply!
