- A funeral procession for fallen Sacramento Police Officer Tara O’Sullivan on Friday, June 21, 2019, transported her on Highway 99 from the coroner’s office in Sacramento to an Elk Grove funeral home as firefighters and officers paid their respects.

There was a silence all around the throne,

This is surprising to me because in Maryland no traffic is allowed to ride beside a fallen hero procession. They close the highway and all exists and intersections while in motion

She answered to a domestic abuse call and he shot her with a high powered rifle. She laid dying in the yard for hours until an armored car was able to provide cover. She died in the hospital

No. There is something called other cops. Funerals for cops like this is more of a tradition. Not every cop takes part in this stuff, it's mainly the department and some surrounding/neighboring counties or a city that have certain officers take part.
