    I LOVE the Chosen and very much enjoyed this interview! The scene with Nicodemus is my favorite, too. I hope Archbishop gets to interview Jonathan. I'm sure he'd welcome the chance to do that.

    I love The Chosen. I am dyslexic and it is hard for me to absorb anything by reading yet with The Chosen I have been reading the Bible more as I can absorb the Scriptures because of what I have seen.

    Love The Chosen. Second and Third seasons, things get a little tougher. The closer we get to Passover Week, the harder and more serious it becomes.

    Enjoy your conversation about The Chosen. The series has changed my life, brought me back to the Scriptures, healed me of debilitating, fear and anxiety. I hope the archbishop will see the other episodes, because each one gets better and better. Jonathan does an awesome job of
    depicting Jesus. It has brought the scriptures to life and saved so many people all over the world.

    Just FYI: Jonathan Roumie has done several discussions and interviews that are online (here on RUclips) and he seems like a very open person. He may be game for a chat with you.

    I’m glad the bishops on there and I’m glad hierarchy is acting normal and good. But I got to say the bishops and priests etc. need to really watch the chosen because it will change their lives. Many of them have heard about it many of them know about it, but they have a different thought process perhaps. I highly recommend that the priest and the bishops in the hierarchy of all types start delving into it and getting into it big time because I do believe their whole life will change. Then also, we can relate to them better that’s my thinking, thank you for this episode, and I’ll tune in again.

    I love the portrayal of Mary in the Chosen. I was raised as Evangelical and became Catholic at the age of 30. And I guess I missed the lesson about Blessed Mother not experiencing pain giving birth. Because I thought she, though a blessed human, had a normal delivery. So during " the Chosen Roundtable" it was mentioned that Catholics believe she did not have pain during birth. I thought that was odd, why would that be necessary? Does that mean there was no blood or amniotic fluid or placenta? The miracle of her pregnancy it seems should be enough. When did that idea become part of the birth story?

    • @bethscott8027
      @bethscott8027 Год назад +3

      Because childbirth pain is believed to be a result of Eve's disobedience toward God resulting in original sin, and we believe Mary was born without original sin, she would not have experienced the pain.

      I don't believe it's been defined as dogma at any point, which means Catholics can have other opinions, but the common Catholic tradition is that because Mary was "pre-delivered" from original sin, she did not suffer the consequences of original sin, including pain in childbirth, the necessity of death (although the traditional belief is that she chose to die and was assumed into heaven shortly thereafter). Instead, her labour pains were those of watching Christ die on the Cross (which were in a sense the labour pains of the Church, born from Christ's side).
      EDIT: This also comes by way of implication from Mary being perpetually virgin: the Church specifically and dogmatically defined Mary as being virgin, "before, during, and after birth". Why "during"? Because Mary's virginity was a symbol and was thus given in a way appropriate for the ancient world, where virginity was understood as also including physical "integrity" (not having the signs of sexual intercourse or childbirth, like a broken hymen). This is the way all of the Church Fathers understood Mary's virginity and it implies that the birth was miraculous.

      @@bethscott8027Genesis does not say women will have birth pain after the Fall. It says childbirth pains will multiply. That means before the Fall, women were going to experience some sort of baseline discomfort or pain at childbirth. If there was none to begin with, multiplying none would still be none.

      @@jayschwartz6131Thank you for saying that. I also believe Mary would have experienced some discomfort just from being a biological human body delivering a relatively large baby. Even animals have discomfort, just not the excessive pain humans experience.

    surprised that when she said who knows if Simon was married that it wasn't fact checked- we know he did because there is a scripture where Jesus heals his mother in law. (Luke Chapter 4)

    I don't know what this woman is watching where she's getting different beginnings to the episodes, but That is not true. The episodes begin the same no matter where you watch them. I think it's just been so long since she watched the first episode that she's forgotten, the disclaimer was there.
