ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

Judge: You won.
Team Cockroach: *celebrates in victory*
Me: Wait, there's still a few episodes, and this isn't the series finale...
Judge: *Obviously, EARTH IS CANCELLED.*
Not only that, but How exactly would they fix everything?
Actually, there's only one episode left from what it's seems.
@@The_Vinil Episode 9 will air next-week. Then, we get a 3-week-break, until we get Episode 10. Then, we get another 2-week-break, until we get Episode 11. And then, the Episodes will air weekly, with Episodes 12, 13, and an extended-finale.
@@carealoo744 that is just terrible, why not simply release it weekly?
@@The_Vinil I agree, but it seems to be so that they don't lose their viewing-count, over the holidays, while people are away.
I remember once in 1965, Doctor Who had an episode that coincidently aired on Christmas, and due to them thinking everyone would be on holiday, they made it a weird-Christmas-Special, that had nothing to do with the overall Story, at the time.
It makes sense with context, but if you're watching the episodes in order, it seems rather bizarre that they just stop telling the Story for an episode, and do a Random-Christmas-Special! :)
Hey, if anyone's interested, I'm reviewing all the Doctor Who stories on my channel, with me just having uploaded my review of: 'Carnival Of Monsters (1973)!' No pressure, of course, just if you're interested! :)
Face it Earth!
YA CANCELED!

Yeah, of course, it is! It's currently way too complicated. The most devastating insult wouldn't work otherwise.
Why?

Soul Squad: OMG! We did it!!
The judge: Uno Reverse card.
I'm fine with the judge's verdict. Let's do this!
but but but Eleanor and chidi no Eleanor and CHIDI!
@INTP wouldn't it be that everything ends up exactly the same except the way they're judged - so in reality nothing is changed, just where they end up?
Same i cant wait to die
@INTP Exactly! And I think judge Gen knows it too, she says see you in a billion years to Michael and Shaun, knowing full well this whole thing will happen again, in a billion years. Rebooting is the only way she knows how to "fix" it, by erasing everything hoping it will go away, in reality it doesn't solve the problem. Its just temporary. She doesn't want to invent new ways because it's hard and it challenges her way of life. But it needs to be done, and without new people (team cockroach) fighting for change, it will never happen.
Honestly a reboot is necessary. Think that 99.99999% of humans have been tortured in the afterlife since the day they died. Thats not something that you can just sweep under the rug. That injustice needs to be addressed as well.
Chidi’s in the corner being like: “wtf is going on???!!!”
He’s asleep
he's not even awake lol
He is probably thinking about why he was sent to the bad place and how much he hates brent
@@TheDudeSmashTrash He's in stasis. The experiment's subjects had to be placed in it during the trial.
Did you even watch the episode or the one before this?
20 bucks says that if Derek has his own personal void the remotes in there.
STTNGfan15 of course, didn’t think of that.
Derek has his own reset button so he must have one
That's actually the first thing I thought of! Plus he's still in the Medium Place so Gen can't get to him too easily
But wasn't Derek sharing Janet's void?
Theory :
Unfortunately the cockroache group will not find a solution because Derek will press the remote by mistake
Somehow, Shawn won. You can see it in his smug face at the end
@@platinum3690 Shawn wanted to torture Michael and using his precious pet humans to do it. In a way, the Judge is doing exactly the same thing, so even though Shawn did not won as he wishes, he still beat Michael.
He just wants bad things for humans. No human is gonna celebrate the end of earth. So he happy.
@@platinum3690 the current earth will be erased. Shawn gets to torment all the new lifeforms, including the eventual new form of human, however different they may be to us.
How does he win? Now he loses every human thats in the Bad Place.
I want to hear the Judge’s jam “I’m gonna miss Everybody!”
Also Disco Janet was spectacular!
Ellington3 yeah her hair was awesome
I’m confused as to why Disco Janet was in the Bad Place though. Michael knew about them, and he’d never been to the GP or seen the Janet warehouse before his scheme started.
Gonna erase the eeeaaaaar-eeeeaaaaaar-eeaaaaarth, erase the earth

When the judge tells Michael that he won, omg the way he tears up, gets me every time. Michael, you precious little bean, must be protected at all costs.
Love the fact they the writers addressed why Chidi is so “jacked”
Am I the only one who would be all for rebooting Earth?
Even though I was surprised I would be interested
@INTP Yeah, I mean, I figured there would be some sort of tampering of course otherwise yeah, of course just the same things would happen again.
I mean, obviously, the real reason they won't reboot Earth, is because that won't be teaching the audience anything.
I'm calling it, that the final twist is that this is all in either Eleanor or Michael's had, right before they die, a human, on Earth. The final moral, is that you cannot expect to have eternity to improve in the afterlife, and you should try your best now, while you're still alive.
@@SpongeTronD-jo9lp But the twist could be he is actually just a human, and this entire Show, is in his head.
It would make sense, for it to be Eleanor, because she was a selfish person on Earth. She would be imagining, becoming Good, as being 1 of the saviors of Humanity.
It would also make sense for Michael, as he may also have been a selfish human on Earth, and is incredibly insecure about himself. If this is the case, he would be imagining himself, in the split-second before death, that he is a deamon; The most Evil anyone can get. And yet Still, even when consumed with the highest amount of Evil, for the entire age of the Universe, he could still turn Good.
Now that I think about it, with the path the Show seems to be taking, I think there is a big chance it could be Chidi, or Shawn as-well.
She doesn't even notice the disconnect between what she said and her decision. She admitted that the system, not the people, was the flaw. But instead of actually fixing it she instead punishes its victims and resets the world not changing anything.
Actually her plan was to clear the board eliminating all humans and the point system that judged them and starting over and creating a whole new system to judge the second generation of humanity while the first will get an end to there unjust punishment by way of extinction
well its the judge you can't ask too much of her yk

I’m already missing this show, lol. It’s such a refreshing, creative treat to watch and nothing will ever be as good, ever.
Now, have we completely ruled out a spin-off series, The Bad Place, where Shawn/Shaun/Sean (Idk the proper spelling) & his cronies wreck havoc & mayhem all over everyone & everything? 🤪 I’d watch that. Hell, I’d audition, somehow, to write for that. 😬
I guess the closest we have to a bad place spinoff is The Selection, the miniseries they have up on RUclips about when they were choosing the four humans for the experiment!

Yes man, here in south america The episode hasn't been translated yet
I knew some sort of twist was coming when they won...but damn!
Theory for The Good Place:
I think the next episode is gonna be a half and half episode like this one. Maybe half of it is Chidi first waking up and getting all his memories back and having to help them stop the judge. The other half will be a conflict between Janet(s) and the judge. Bad Janet taking the “remote” from good Janets void may be proof that Janets can go into other Janets voids so maybe They will all go into one Janet’s void and fight the judge while playing football with the remote, kinda like the last season where they fought in the bar while using the key to open doors. Then the episode will end with some last second twist that sends us into the “winter break” cliffhanger. Let me know your thoughts and theories and like if you thought my theory was interesting.
this is the last season there will be no cliffhanger
Last episode will have 90 minutes, the showrunner confirmed. It will also air end of Jan 2020.
@@daisybunni there's always a break halfway through, from ep 9 to 10 this season so there will be a cliffhanger until we get ep 10 around mid late december maybe early jan
Cringe Studios January 2 if there are 13 episodes in this season like seasons 1 + 2, or January 9 if there are 12 episodes like in season 3. The end date is confirmed to be January 30.
@@keagster31 thanks 👌🏻
So, I'm assuming the endgame is The fake "Good Place" becoming a sort of testing ground to see whether or not certain humans deserve to go to the Good/Bad place. Basically, making everyone who dies emulate in one way of another the journey Team Cockroach went through.
I think there will be no good place or bad place in the end, it will be an eternity of the fake good place, where everyone tries to become better for eternity.
moonandback yeah! Thats exactly what I thought! Like an afterlife rehabilitation center where people just work on getting better for eternity
Basically purgatory
My theory is that it already was that. In the end, this whole series is just gonna have been a test for Elanor, to see if she would sacrifice herself for the good of all humanity.
You were right damn!
haven’t seen the episode yet but here i am anyway
HOLY MOLY I THOUGHT LAST EPISODE WAS AMAZING! It just keeps getting better!!
After the bore-fest that was episodes 2-6 (Minus episode 4), it could only pretty much go up, from here. :)
@@carealoo744 it wasn't a bore fest, I loved every episode in this season, every episode doesn't need to have a big twist for it to be interesting. Each to his own.
@@radmoonable No, not every episode needs to have a big twist in it, for it to be interesting.
However, when the entire show has built itself upon its ability to tell twists, and normally every few episodes ends up blowing up the entire premise in some way, furthermore the show that announces that it's having a final season, forgive me if I feel a little bit disappointed, when we get quite a few episodes in a row, of exactly what I expected; Ironically, what I expect, is not what I expect, from This-Show.
The way Maya Rudolph and Ted Danson both sold this performance.
Earth still gets rebooted, Chidi invents a new system but to give everyone a fair chance it has to be rebooted for it to really be fair. But thanks to Jeremy Berimy they are reunited 1 billion years after, Eleanor walks into Chidis class for real this time, as a Student. Then they make it into the good place.
Omg! I can’t wait for the season finale
Buddy, there's still five episodes left, and an extended finale.
An episode is going to air next week, then there's going to be a three-week break, then we get episode 10, then we get another two-week break, and then we get episodes 11, 12, 13, and the finale, weekly. :)

Hey, fine by me.
They could even have done that to stretch a few more seasons. Like, jump forward 4.5 billion years and we have our heroes back on the afterlife trying again.
Plus how does a restarted earth really help prove the hypothesis. The same thing could happen again.
Yeah; I assume it was implied some sort of tweaking would occur.
I'm pretty sure the reboot would've come with a completely new point system.
I mean... what did they expect? If the system for judgement has been off since day one that means that every judgement on every soul was carried out incorrectly and thus everybody has to be re-judged, but they can't be judged as they are NOW. All those people have changed after being in their respective afterlives. The only way to correct all the wrongfully judgements is to start back at day one with the new system.
I need a clip of her being like "we can restart with some amoebas or something"

These cliffhangers are killing me. Anyone have a link to a promo for the next episode?
I think this is the last episode and they will leave of with a cliffhanger
See ya’ll in the bad place! 🔥😎🔥
I don't know why but I have a strong feeling that Chidi's memory was never erased. I think he is actually aware of everything that is happening.
Plot twist: Michael's the one in the bad place
That reminds me of what Eleanor said to Michael after making up with her mom, Donna. They were at this bar right discussing about free will. After so many examples Michael gave Eleanor, she started saying that there is probably a tarantula squid torturing everyone else including Michael and the soul squad. Then michael poured iced tea on her cos to him she was getting annoying already. I love the writing on this one Bec there's this potential foreshadowing going but then it's followed by a somewhat comedic way of dismissing an idea. Well know it during the finale. But that's just what I noticed
Shawn, that little grin.
Best idea ever.
Nobody has mentioned how this solution literally wouldn’t work. The points system would get convoluted the same way it did before as the judge is not actually changing anything about the points system
Earth?
But that's where I parked my car!
The Judge: your right. You won
Me: *heart racing super relived*
Team Cockroach: YAYYY
The Judge: Earth is CANCELLED
Me: well fork this forking shirt
I wonder if maybe the judge is behind all this- she got bored of disputes interrupting her activities (like watching all her shows), so she either messed with the points system or stopped updating it to make sure that no one would ever be close enough to the points threshold for the good place to try and stake a claim over (except for the rare case of mindy st. claire). And she's only been entertaining these experiments so that she can ultimately get rid of everyone and be left in peace
Until this she had only had 1 other case since the beginning of time.
On IMDB, the cast of the next episode features Uzo, Chidi's friend from earth, and the kid who plays young Chidi. I really hope the episode has Chidi get closure with who he was on Earth, and decide what he wants to do moving forward.
This is just like how they reboot popular franchises that they think is too complicated to follow
This predicted 2020 lol
No 1 but Maya could have played The Judge.

I don't feel like i've been rebooted yet
"Earth is cancelled" 🤣
Judge: Obviously Earth is canceled, in fact I'm sending a new fever plague right now. It's a type of coronavirus that makes the humans lose the ability to taste, smell, and breath.
I have a theory: I think it will end the false good place as a purgatory to know who deserves to go to the real good place
Chidi means "God exists".
I’m honestly all for this. No more pollution, no more global warming, no more poaching, no more abuse or rape, no crime. Yes, please cancel earth.

I genuinly had nightmares about this 😅
Calling it here: Janet will take the entirety of the earth and humanity into her void. She's basically all-powerful, and getting closer to totally all-powerful with each reboot she goes through.
Well, now that all Janets are on the same side there will be a lot more space, each one could use their void to save humans, but they would have to die just like when Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason did whe they entered Janets void.
The judge can enter in her voids too
...or PewDiePie?
I loved that
The idea is that he's famous. Most humans don't bother to think about how their actions could possibly affect others, or at-least not as much as Chidi does.
Famous people especially, could end up saying an off thing, or doing an off thing, and due to there potentially being millions of people who will see that, and have their own actions and possibly even views be affected by that, they would lose Way more Points.
Not only that, but the more Fame someone gets, the less they start to see just how special what they have is. Their Fans start to feel less like actual People, and more like Numbers. When you only have a few friends in your life, everything that one of them says matters. But when you have millions of people trying to talk to you, you obviously can't listen to every single one of them. This losing sense of how amazing it is to have so many people that like you, and your lack of ability to fully appreciate that, would definitely Cost you a lot of Points.
I don't mean to get too deep into this, but there are other factors too. Such as, think about how much they actually help people. Of course, I have no authority to assume what their deepest motives are, but at least a tiny part of them, must be making videos less to help entertain and inform their viewers, and more to benefit themselves, so that they can keep going with their current job. When they donate to charity, while it could very well be just out of their Goodwill, they also Have that money to spare. Think about it; Would someone who only had $100, but gave it all to charity, seriously gain less points, then a billionaire, who gives $1,000,000 to charity? While the latter obviously Gave more money, it was less of a loss on their behalf.
And, of course, it is always nice when the people who are up top try to help the people below them, but they very rarely try to actually help those people get to the same level as Them; Why create competition?
Of course, None of this is Fair, but that's kind of the Point.
@@idontevenhaveapla7224 Even demons love PewDiePie!

Reboot Earth!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!! We really need to clean up this gigantic shitshow we call life!!!!
Wouldn't it make more sense to put everyone in the medium place? Except for rapists and paedophiles and people who've done that level of bad stuff. I mean, in the bad place, people are too busy being tortured to reflect on their behaviour and in the good place they're too busy being happy to reflect on their behaviour, in the medium place there's nothing to do but talk to each other or just sit and think, and maybe that's the best way to start the change. Besides, achieving contentment (neither misery nor bliss) is something that it takes some people a lifetime to find, what better place to find it than in the medium place?
Just realized. How and why was that system in place since the Dawn of time when humanity hasn’t been around since then? 🤔
