Agreed. These guys would be very solid amateur climbers in a typical experienced group - me and my old guy friends occasionally surprise each other with a V6 send or good V7 attempt, but typically are working V4 and V5 in a fairly graded gym. Seeing the difference on the red V6 route is a good demonstration of the difference in pro-level strength, knowing exactly how to position, beta, etc. Most of us would look like the tall guy - not sure exactly how to start and flailing a lot until you see it done right.
Truly an honor and a privilege climbing with you Magnus 🙏. Thanks for coming to visit us in Las Vegas! Next time, we'll bring you to the Refuge, or better yet, bouldering in Red Rock. This climbing sesh ranks up there as one of the best days of my life. Don't tell my wife, but it's up there with my wedding 😂. Also, no one ever gives you enough credit for your video editing. Sick edit as always! 🙌
So cool that you mentioned the Tokyo climbing gym, I remember that was the first video I found of yours back when you posted it. You've got me into climbing and I'm addicted!!
@@Seraphim262 Mostly indoor bouldering and top rope, but I was living in San Diego this summer so I had the chance to do some lead climbing and outdoor bouldering
LMAO. Andy is simply listed as route setter, not owner of hold company (Menagerie), shaper for other brands (Nicros), route developer (Potosi, Charleston, etc.) and dude who has climbed 9a and countless double digit boulders. I'm sure he didn't want to be the center attention (good midwestern kid at heart) but this is all too much. Hahaha
Andy is the most chill dude ever. Doesn't take things too seriously, doesn't hype himself up, always tells it like it is, but is still a quirky, funny dude that loves talking about books. He does so much (like you mentioned) but he's so non-chalant about it you almost forget what a beast he is. One of the coolest people to work for.
One thing that really stands out to me in Magnus' videos is how positive, supportive and encouraging the climbing community is. Everybody is cheering each other on and trying to get the best out of each other. No machismo, pettiness or over-competitiveness. Just good vibes!

The amount of excitement I felt when he was able to do that yellow V7! That's always such an awesome feeling, and it goes to show how far a little encouragement goes. Awesome video!
Was anxiously waiting for this video!! Rockentry probably has the most insightful videos for learning and improving. Definitely helped me loads when I just started getting into climbing!
i think i've said this before, but thank you for putting the font bouldering grades next to the v grades on every climb!! i can t get myself to make sense of the v grade system, no matter how many us based information i consume, so thank you! for making it reference-able!
seeing Magnus interact with other creators always reminds me how humble/down to earth the man is: it's refreshing how stripped of bravado and posturing he is compared to even his friends.
I saw that foot jam on the pink v9, Pete is super proud of you right now! Also new challenge for you to try with strong climbers Magnus, campusing without it looking like you're campusing. They did it recently on the TAMY Climbing Channel and it's right up your alley!
Just rewatched one of the old lead climbing videos, and it's so much fun, hope we see more in the future. As always keep up the great work, this video was🔥!!
YAY! I live in Vegas and I love your videos. What an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT to wake up to this:))) Great video as always Magnus! This place is a great gym. Living in Vegas, especially in the height of summer, indoor options are essential (at least for me!)
omg the mirrored wall was amazing!! never thought of that, but totally makes sense for helping you find where your strengths are weaker on certain sides!
I am loving the videos Magnus! You brought something up in passing in this video that I would love to hear you go more in depth about. You mentioned how one of the climbers was fully crimping and you asked if he had been injured. I am working towards climbing upper 5.12s and I just had a finger injure (from monos). I am wondering what your thoughts are on finger training/care - should I always avoid full crimps, even when projecting climbs over my onsight ability? I'd love to hear what works for you. Cheers, and thanks for the good content.
D'oh!!! I missed Magnus at the gym?! I'd have loved to meet him and say thanks for all the great content he makes. Watching his videos is what got me started climbing 2 years ago. Still super cool to see a video with him in my local gym!
While I enjoyed the video, one thing I liked about the Tokyo video was that they didn't seem to know you were coming. While it's probably difficult given your popularity, in this video it seemed like they were expecting you so you had a presentation compared to a normal climber's first experience. While I doubt it happened, it could also affect your honest review of a route since the owners of the gym are right next to you. Still enjoyed the video though!
Miguel and Ozzy are 2 cool dudes. I don't usually watch indoor climbing video's but these 2 guys had great energy and made this so fun to watch. Ozzy is crazy in a good way and Miguel is super chill
Love the US content! Love all the content of course, but it's fun seeing you stateside! Offer still stands to show you Arizona climbing whenever you're back out in the states and not completely booked out.
That’s crazy to thing Miguel helped design the guitar building in Miami , I watched his channel way before any of these other guys because I got into slack lining , then got into climbing now. I am from Miami and can actually see the light from the guitar building from the gyms in ft lauderdale
I took Magnus advice and when I couldn't make it up a boulder, just throw yourself at it and then come back two days later. Flashed it the next time. Thanks man. Super helpful.
I really don't know why I started watching this channel but it's really addicting lol.. I've never climbed and not actually planning to do so but I keep watching 😆
As someone who moved to Vegas from somewhere else, I opt to not have a membership to a gym because i genuinely think the gyms here are just not worth it. The Pad is super clean and friendly, but the grades are all over the place and the quality is never consistent either. Refuge has great setting but there isnt much thought that goes into hold selection and is expensive for being so dingy. The gyms are rated in the vacuum of sub-par climbing gyms. THIS IS MY CRY TO YOU MAGNUS!!! Open a solid gym here please :)

Its so cool seeing Magnus next to 'normal' strong climbers, it just shows how he is just on another level. Beautiful video Magnus, love the trio
For sure, V7-V8 climbers are like the absolute best climbers you encounter in your average gym and then Magnus is just next level
And then seeing him next to Ondra he looks human again :P
