- Hi everyone! This week's video is another DIY upcycle. We stencilled our patio to give it a budget friendly glow up. We are SO pleased with the result! I chat through what supplies we needed for the project and show how easily it's done. I've linked my blog post of the quick guide tutorial on the patio stencilling as well:

LOVE this video. I will be doing my own re-do on my patio!!
I found this very helpful thank you. we are redoing our very small patio after years of neglecting it. Changing the patio slabs wasn't an option for us and you've just given us the perfect way forward. Your patio looks great thanks for sharing (thank you also for the tips and products!)
thank you so so much! glad you found it helpful. I sometimes wonder how well tutorials like this come across considering I'd never stencilled a patio before myself as we were filming it haha. But it was actually really straight forward. So pleased with the beautiful result and was SOOOOOO much cheaper than decking.
This is stunning!!! I can't wait to try on my patio.
Thank you! 😊 its so so worth it!

Hello Jess and good footage thanks showcasing your DIY skills in the garden as the stencil paintwork on the concrete slabs looks amazing and lucky you had your husband to help you and that the weather has been warm and sunny though as usual can be unpredictable also happy Easter Sunday to you and hope you’re coping well amidst the dreadful coronavirus covid-19 so thanks for reading stay safe and cheerio
thank yoU! yes it was fab to have the help although I definitely stencilled 99% of them hahaha! Hope you are doing ok and are safe and well at the moment x
Now I wish I had a patio to do this on! Looks amazing! 😍
Thank you! 😊
I'm painting individual stepping stones with Mandalas so I can add them to a walkway I'm doing with red bricks... No need for a whole cemented patio, get some garden pavers and paint away. 😍
That does look amazing.
thanks so much!
Can you let me know what primer you used? Also did you seal it as well. Does it still look as good. Many people say don’t use masonry paint I’ve got 10 Lts of it.
great sharing, beautiful garden!
thank you! So nice of you
Don’t have a patio and can’t plan anything like this with the current living situation but love your vids ✌🏼 xo
ahh thanks so much all the same
Looks Great!
Thanks!xxx
Hi about to stencil my garden u say yes patio sealer but that won't penetrate the paint . ? will sit onto. Do u know what else can be used pls.
Looks great
Thanks!xxx
Your videos are very interesting thank you 🙏🏼
thanks so much x
What was the paint you used for the stencilling
Hello from Texas, America! Any advice now it’s been 3 yrs?
-Did you need to reseal the top after some time?
-Has it started peeling/chipping?
-Is it slippery bc I heard mixing a little sand with the paint helps prevent a slippery surface
Thank you!
How is your patio holding up? I am about to do my porch and hoping for the best.
Looks fabulous! You have inspired me to make over my patio. How big was the stencil you used please?
amazing! hope you love the result on your patio. I used the 45cm patio stencil. THey're sold in different sizes so id suggest picking a size that fits your patio squares it makes it so super easy to apply if the stencil is the same size as each patio slab. x
Hi! We’re planning to do ours this week 😁 just wondering how you applied the primer? What tools did you use and how much of it did you apply for a good coverage?
hey we used a soft wide paint brush. literally just slapped the stuff on and it dried so quickly. its very thin so we just did a generous one coat of it. we actually couldn't work out if one coat was a good coverage as it really was so thin and dried asap but the sandtex paint went on so nicely on top and its been three months since we did it and it's still perfect :D
Really like the idea, looking for a way to improve boring old flags, how do you find cleaning, cant imagine you can pressure wash after and looks like it would get dirty and stay?
thank you! yes absolutely not a pressure wash! although I have seen others do a pressure wash to remove winter grime and its not removed the paint. Ours has held up well with just a hose down and most of the patio was covered in winter with a big plastic sheet protecting the furniture but we're having building work done now and the moving of concrete bags and storing lots of stuff on the patio has actually ruined it so we're going to be doing some touch ups in summer once the work is finished.
superb just what I was looking for ... your patio looks great - you didn't mention what you used to clean the stencil though ?
thank you!! I didnt really clean it properly just hosed it down under the tap. some paint was left on it and I lent it to my friend to do hers and she never had an issue with the dried paint on the stencil when doing her patio
Looks stunning! I'd like to do this but I have 2 different shaped flagstone tiles on my patio! One square, one rectangle... dont know what to do!
Quiet Belle thanks! How big are the grooves between the slabs? Could you just stencil over the whole thing without taking into consideration the shape of the tiles?
@@Jessroseparr you're a bloody legend, I didnt even think of that! I'm going to narrow down the stencil designs I like now... hopefully this will turn out as beautifully as yours! Thanks! New subscriber!
So pretty, love that’💜
Thank you! 😊
Looooove this! 😍 will it rub off in the future with wear and tear??
thank you!!! hope not but because there's footfall it could. We'll see what it looks like next year after a winter. Hopefully the 15 year paint guarantee holds up hehe
Absolutely gorgeous, did you have to seal it???? I love it, I'm doing mine, thankyou
Jess it’s fantastic.... did you have to seal with with a varnish? Where is the stencil from? X
we put a stabilising primer on base and a mason outdoor clear coat on top
What did you use to clean the stencils with please?
I haven't cleaned them hehe. I just wiped them down after painting and have left them. My friend borrowed them in this state and had no issue with painting her patio so its not affected the ability to do the job.
Hello, what paint did you use on the stencil? Thanks👍
All the info. needed is under the video caption.
hey! it was B&Q own brand exterior wall paint
Brilliant thank you, does it still look new After the weather and walking on it?
first
Forgot to put sealant
I think it's boring to staying at home all the time
well ya know... lockdown etccc....
