Sorry your struggling Aaron. I’m no doctor but I like to think, if it were me… 1. Consider stress can impact cholesterol and your other BP tests etc also reflected false readings
    2. On carnivore I’ve improved my metabolic health significantly. Metabolic health is a much larger concern for heart disease vs cholesterol.
    3. Is really question the results and consider a 2nd test
    4. Maybe get a CAC scan
    5. Some of these good docs are accessible maybe super chat via live QA
    6. Reach out to Dr Ovadia. He’s done a few videos reviewing test results ask him - what would you do? Hope this helps brother- 1 day at a time

I was in the exact same boat, I did 2 things....1. I scheduled a ct angiogram to measure my actual arterial blockages (there was "some" but not "a lot" on a scale of 0-45 45 being the worst I had a score of 8 but I was nearly 300 pounds when I started keto/carnivore in October of 2022 so I can't contribute anything to my diet over the last 2 years) I plan to repeat this test every 1-2 years so I can track the change, if it is getting worse change my diet completely to focus on lowering my cholesterol at all costs and consider taking a statin, if it stays the same/gets better keep doing what I'm doing because I feel fantastic eating this way.... 2. I added about a pound of various seasonal fruits and 1 cup of whole milk to my animal based diet daily, I did another lipid panel after 60 days of this change to my diet and my LDL went down from 437 to 178 my Triglyceride went from 48 to 50 and my HDL stayed at 92 and my weight remained constant at 178 +/- 2 lbs daily....My doctor still "isn't happy" with my cholesterol levels but is on board with my plan to track any changes in my arterial blockage and to hold off on any statin therapy for the time being.....If you haven't already found him look into Dr. Nick Norawitz's youtube channel, he is an M.D. PhD in biochemistry and has recently made quite a few very informative evidence based videos on this exact subject and comes across as more curious than agenda pushing.

Dr. Berry says the doctors are supposed to have you sit in a dark room for 15 minutes before taking your blood pressure reading. Essentially no doctor does this. Concerning your cholesterol, have you had a CAC scan done? How do you feel overall? That much of a deviation seems like you should be retested. Possibly an error in the test.

You need to order yourself a fasting insulin test. And yes, you need to eat a few yellow potatoes, a few pieces of fruit and honey. About 150 to 200 grams of carbs. Carnivore is what you should use temporarily. Those carbs I mentioned are not the foods that got you in trouble in the past. Most of us ate processed food and drank a lot. And if you haven’t, give up caffeine. It fixed my blood pressure for good.

I think being able to take lab work to Dr. Berry is good for peace of mind and then, go to Dave Feldman's "own your labs" to see how to be in one of their lean mass hyper responder studies. Stop the stress, eat like you love yourself and get on with your day. Trust that you can see the difference between food and food like substances. Fear is so unhelpful. I like the saying : ah so, this is my challenge and from there meet it with your perfect faith and wisdom, which you have plenty. LDL, cool...my brain is well protected and I get to keep my marbles. 😅

I feel for you man. There is SOOOO much information out there and SOOOO many different opinions. It is so freaking hard to navigate what the heck the answer is for what the "optimal diet" is.
I struggle greatly with this. The reason I even found carnivore diet is due to anxiety, which is related to health anxiety. So when I try to go against mainstream medical info that I've read for 30 years it causes me a lot of angst.
I'm not going to try and give you medical advice but just know that I feel for you. You mentioned leaving it up to God so what I would advise it to get deep in prayer and see if you get any answers or guidance on how you should go forward.

My ldl last month was 466. My doctor freaked out.
I allowed her to order calcium score. Result was 148 which is very good for a 57 year old with arthritis, emphysema and 7 stents in my heart from 12 years ago on the standard American diet.
She was surprised with the result. She still wanted me to do a stress test. I passed that with nothing of note indicated. I knew my heart was fine because I know what I felt like when it wasn't fine all those years ago.
Also of note, Dr. Baker recently had a new cholesterol monitor device which showed his cholesterol move from the 350s to the 150s in 48 hrs.

When my A1C was 10.1 and sugar was sky high, my Cholesterol was 196 and LDL was 115 but my Triglycerides were dangerously high at 383! Also my blood pressure was High When I had my labs done a few days ago A1C was 5.5 but my cholesterol was 304 and LDL 228 but triglycerides were 63. According to Many Carnivore doctors When metabolically healthy, High cholesterol is a god thing as long as your Triglycerides are low, HDL is high, A1C is low, and glucose is normal, cholesterol is no issue! Dr. Philip Ovadia states, it's not the Quantity of Cholesterol, it's the Quality. When sugar is high, Cholesterol is low but Triglycerides are sky high. When Sugar is low or normal Cholesterol is high and triglycerides are low! Every cell wall and hormone in your body is made of Cholesterol! If you don't eat cholesterol by eating meat or eggs, your liver makes upto 3,000 mg of it a day because you have to have cholesterol! Stop letting your ignorant doctor fear mongrel you. My Doctor mentioned a statin to me and told him Hell No! I am not going to be in a nursing home from Dementia at 65 or earlier because they want to lower my Cholesterol Which your brain contains the most cholesterol out of all organs in your entire body!

No worries man! Go by how you feel, if you are having issues, then by all means going to the doctor isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The first thing I did when I was having blood pressure issues, mainly high off and on was I stopped drinking anything that had caffeine in it. That helped right away! The next thing I did when I started the carnivore diet was I stopped adding salt to my food for 30 days, that made it normal and after I added salt back in while staying on a strict carnivore diet, my blood pressure stayed normal. I've been on a strict carnivore diet since August 7th 2023 and all of my health issues have disappeared!❤

I have been where you are so many times. All I can is, if you decide to add some carbs, please DO NOT add grains. Try berries or green things first, and GO SLOW. Otherwise, I agree with the above comment, to join Dr. Berry's community and try to get 1 on 1 with him. Do not just listen to other members.
Remember that stress (good and bad) can spike cortisol causing gluconeogenesis. Glucose = liver making LDL. Try to just relax for a while. No doctors, no worries, dont do long cardio (hiit should be fine if you really want to). Just walk outside, lift weights, and take your minerals. If you do carbs, get them from produce only pls.
I pray for you all daily! 🙏💜💯‼

I watched this on my lunch and felt like I really needed to take to think about this. First off I would like to see you take a deep breath and try to relax you can't think rationally all upset and worried believe everything is going to be ok. You shouldn't feel alone in this I have seen others with really high numbers like this. Maybe chatting with others in same situation will give you some comfort and the ability to talk with people who can completely understand what your thought process is and what you're going through. It's easy for people to sit back and say that they would do this that or the other when it's not their life. Ultimately you are the one that has to live with whatever decision you decide to make. I think the live stream that you mentioned with inviting doctors to review your numbers is a very good idea Plus it may help some other people that are going through the same thing. I agree with you about your blood pressure and your glucose numbers I think stress plays a big deal in those. I can understand that you're feeling scared and worried and I prayed for you today. Take some comfort and knowing how you feel like you said you feel great This is just a little bump in the road to figure out and as a community I'm sure we can figure this out but in the meantime do some things to bring yourself comfort take a deep breath relax. I can see the worry all over your face in your video. I wish I had some better advice for you but I don't like I said you can't think when you're all upset You can't make good decisions when you've got a bunch of anxiety going on. I think Kerry had some good input as well maybe you and him could do a live stream together on this and reach a bigger audience between the two of you. Invite the doctors on get some advice from a medical professional that specializes in this WOE. I mean you trusted them enough to learn about this way of eating why not trust them when you're worried. I pray things get better for you and who knows this may end up being something that you don't even have to worry about but get some solid advice from some professionals 🙏🙏🙏

This is my first time I have watched your video. My dad was 74 when he passed with cancer, last year. That man ate fried potatoes and bacon or sausage and eggs every day. He never had a problem with his cholesterol or triglyceride or blood pressure. At 74 the only meds he took was for his cancer. All we could think of is that man always went! When he was doing chemo and radiation he plowed his garden with his tiller. He hand chopped wood. He walked in the woods several times a week. He would go and go and go! Now his parents were on medications. His siblings are on medications. I think that no one diet is straight across the board for every one. I think maybe you need to find out what works for you. Dads brother is just like him. Goes all the time. They are skinny. Eat the same. He is on meds and dad wasnt. I did a whole foods keto a few years back and loved it. I stayed away from processed foods. My numbers were great then my gallbladder said nope not anymore. I cant do fats, even the healthy, unless I want to have surgery. Find what works for you. Research low carb foods. Keep below 20 grams. That should help with glucose. Well I feel that veggies (greens) their carbs shouldn't matter. Lol

It's obvious what the fear in his voice is. He has said it. He wants to be around for his kids and is afraid he won't be due to health issues. Why you gotta bring religion into this conversation? Even if you believe in God, God helps those who help themselves. Here he is trying to help himself, which also means not just leaving fate in God's hands. He is trying to make the right decisions to live long enough to be there for his kids. I'm sure you mean well, but you are not contributing anything. His kids don't give a flying f*** about seeing him trust the Lord, they want their Daddy around. Have a blessed day.

If your doctor is adamant against the way you’ve been eating then you’re most likely all worked up to try to prove something to him when you don’t really have to do that. If you had a doctor that was super supportive Over your lifestyle, I think your stress levels would go way down when visiting the office. Documenting this is valuable for others to learn from what you're doing one way or the other. My wise wife said to me yesterday not to stress about the decisions you make because you'll never know if making a different decision would have worked out better for you. Ultimately just do what you think is best and right for you. For what it's worth, although I generally eat carnivore, I drink tart cherry juice almost every day because it lowers my blood pressure by at least 10 points which I figure gives my arteries a chance to heal without the pressure on them. (My bp at home is 117-128/77-84 but the doctor's office its 150/90) Mentally I'm in a similar place as you as far as unsure about my cholesterol and what I should be doing, but I feel better over all on carnivore but my cholesterol is only 347, not as high as yours. But I am struggling with the same thoughts as you are. But all the evidence I've seen suggests its the best option for cardiovascular health and Statins clearly aren't. Worth keeping in mind is LDL rises to fight infections or toxins. And although I started keto right around the time my cholesterol shot up quite a bit, I also discovered around the same time I had mold toxicity and recently learned I have very high level of SIBO. So its very possible your levels are high because of some sort of toxicity you don't know about. If you can afford to, perhaps take SIBO and toxicity tests. See a functional medicine doctor if you can....they will have you do those tests. Probably the best gauge for whether or not this carnivore diet is working for you or not is periodically checking your CAC score. If its rising quickly, then something is wrong, and then maybe you can take non-statin cholesterol lowering medicine so your arteries don't have so many particles to build up on your artery walls. But if your CAC score doesn't rise, then those particles are likely benign in your bloodstream and your body isn't using them to patch up your artery walls.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I was in a similar predicament (but no high bp, yet similar cac score LDL and A1c). Added 75g of carbs and lowered ldl 22% (still very high) increased to 100g of carbs (will recheck ldl later). My fasting insulin is extremely good and my glycated albumin is not pre diabetic even though my A1C is 6.0 (RBC’s living longer?) I know many of our tribe discuss how carbs aren’t needed, but I just don’t think it’s that big of a deal to have some (for me anyway). I still think animal fat is mostly good. Personally, I may still consider a statin (I would not even consider if I had a 0 cac score). Incidentally, I am in the best shape of my life once going carnivore, but adding 100g of carbs did not seem to make me less fit. I’m temped to retake my cac as a final determining factor for considering a statin. If cac is not changed I may hold off.

Vitamin B1 is necessary to get all energy into the cells. Sugars, fats and proteins.
You need b1 to get cholesterol out of your blood stream and into your cells.
Carnivore is low in B1 and you most likely need therapeutic doses to overcome functional deficiency.
Try mega dosing B1 for 4 months
Benfotiamine is the fat soluble form of B1 and the most absorbable form.
    250 mg.
Make sure you have adequate cofactors.
Magnesium, potassium, zinc, other b vitamins and choline.
They are necessary for B1 to work.
    God bless.
Take B1 in the morning because it can effect your sleep and take magnesium at night to help you sleep.
Adding carbohydrates help because they are naturally higher in B1, but supplementing in mega doses are your best option because the B1 is depleted by carbohydrates, medications, alcohol, stress...

Did God make it? Oh , yes 😂 it is in meat, fish and other animal sources. I love the book "Eat the Yolk", it clears up the myths of where to get nutrients, how they work synergistically with one another and how the food like substances or non-food supplements can actually interfere with the availability and absorption of nutrients. I loved the video on vitamin A by Dr. Berry. After repeating the question to AI, "how much vitamin A is in carrots?", AI finally conceded that there is no vitamin A in carrots. 😲 It has betacarroten. So... Do I need to take a supplement? D3/K2 for the winter and nothing else seems to work for me. Carnivore for a long...time. But everyone gets to figure it out for themselves. 🙏🥩🧈🥓🥚

      @carrikartes1403 6 месяцев назад

@@Lynne135 recently I found calcifediol gummies (the activated form of vitamin D that you usually can not get without a doctor’s prescription) for my husband. In the past half of his parathyroid was removed. I guess that has to do with problems of utilizing vitamin D (according to some recent research). The body has trouble converting vitamin D to the activated form (and/or) has trouble with receptors allowing vitamin D into the cells.
For myself I believe in using supplements.
On carnivore you get the closest to a complete diet but there are still times you need to address chronic deficiencies or absorption issues with therapeutic doses of nutrients.

A CT angiogram might be a good next step for peace of mind because you've done all of the other scans. Soft plaque can only be seen by CTA and that's the problem that will take someone down quickest. Also if you haven't had a whole genetic panel done for CV related defects, that might help give you something to work with. I'm struggling to trust conventional doctors but I think arming yourself with all the markers you can get tested for will give you what you need to keep yourself on the right track. I won't tell you not to take a statin but according to Dr. Nadir Ali (low carb interventional cardiologist on YT) statins are probably the most useless drug on the planet.

I just went through this myself. My CAC score was in the top 99th percentile for my age, gender, race). CAC score put me as high risk. My LDL was above 190 which technically qualifies as FH. The cardiologist did a bang up job of scaring me to death either way. I asked Chaffee what he would do if you knew your CAC score was that high. He was not hot on statins but he said more data to work from so comparisons can be made will help. My cardiologist wanted to put me on high intensity statins and baby aspirin. I asked for a CCTA (the NONinvasive one that shows soft plaque.) and told him I wanted to know for sure what was going on in my heart. I even mentioned Lpa and i wanted to know that too. When I got my results back, it turned out I had no obstructive soft plaque, and my widowmaker which was the main place that had the calcified plaque was also nonobstructive with no soft plaque. Great flow all around. No need for intervention. My Lpa was also very low. My cardiologist had predicted the opposite. Huge relief for me. But I feel your pain. Do everything in your power to remain calm and keep your cortisol in check. Many folks go through this in some way, carnivore or not. A CCTA is something your doctor can order. My insurance covered it and your cardiologist can help put it through. If not, another cardio can if they know to order it. Other doctors to consult: ovadia (cardiologist), ford brewer (cardiologist), agatston (cardiologist) for differing but somewhat similar points of view. All are supportive to carnivore or at least agnostic. Finally, get an NMR profile with IR score (ownyourlabs has good pricing). Also Lp(a) as I mentioned, HSCrp, and a Kraft test if you really want to double check for insulin resistance. Everything I'm mentioning here is not that costly (unless your CCTA is not covered). Hope this helps! Knowledge is power. So getting more info will help you decide what is the best course of action. Ultimately, the person who is going to care the most about your health is you. So stay behind the wheel. You've come this far. You've got this! )))))))

Arron!!! I feel these same exact feelings you are experiencing. Just curious, have you performed cardiac testing such as CCTA , stress tests , and CAC scores? Once you get these tests and they come back regular, this may ease your mind about the elevated LDL.You are right, we don't know how this lifestyle way of eating will affect our health ultimately. YOU and the rest of us Carnivores are kind of like pioneers. But we DO know how diabetes affects our health!!!! I'm a nurse, and I see the ill effects of diabetes every day! If you are anything like me, you are a food addict. Yes it stinks. My personal advice is to Try to focus on the positive changes that have come to your life with this way of eating!! You are such an inspiration and I'm sorry you are struggling with this issue. I'm sure many of us struggle mentally with having high LDL. Like I said, I struggle with it mentally, regularly. There is a lady on YT named Jenny Mitich where she has a video explaining her labs after 1 year on Carnivore and she explains the theory of why LDL raises with this way of eating. While it's only a theory, it makes sense! I always have to come back to we don't know for sure but I DO know for sure the effects of Diabetes. So in my case, I continue with this way of eating because of what I DO know about diet and try to push past of what I DONT know. I will try to go find the video I spoke about and reply to my comment. Let me know what you think!! Heres the link. I recommend watching the whole video, but the explination is about 8 to 9 mins into the video

I understand your fear! I have been carnivore for 6 years and I recently had a CAC test don which came back @350. My wife was and is terrified...... Here is the rub, was that score from years of eating like an asshole, a candy addiction and drinking or was it caused by the 6 years of carnivore? No one knows and I'm OK with that. I was asked to go on a statin to lower my total cholesterol which has been roughly 270 for the past 4 years. To lessen my wife's fear I decided to stop the eggs (I ate 6-8 eggs a day) and started eating a shit ton of fish and chicken. I allow myself red meat 2 times a week. The other thing I started was to eat fresh fruit everyday. A couple bananas, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. I am going to have my bloodwork done in a few weeks to see if there is a significant change in my overall numbers. I will reach out and let you know where I stand with the new numbers. Hang tight my friend and maybe think of cutting back on eggs and red meat?

Ohhhh and as a side note, every time I go tot the doctors to and have my blood pressure done it comes in a 170/90. But like you, when I'm in the comfort mod my home it reads 118/71. Go figure! I had a doctors visit with a cardiologist after I received my CAC score (Wife insisted) and the nurse took my blood pressure when I arrived and it was 174/92. The cardiologist said that that was very high but did say - that can't be right. At the end of her consultation she took another reading and it read, 119/72. So it could be a white coat effect......

Stick with Carnivore but don’t add extra fat to your meals. I don’t think our ancestors would’ve ever added extra fat to meals. Also change up your beef cuts. Eat all the cuts available from very lean to fatty. Like our ancestors would’ve done. I think Carnivore is still the way to go but change up the meat sources occasionally. Wild game, lean and fatty fish etc. Worth a shot.

OK, my last comment. The fat works magic. I use butter unsalted. 2 sticks a day minimum. 3 meals a day, 20-30 grams of protein max per meal, less if my blood sugar is over 90 before I eat. Eat a fatty snack in between meals, like a tablespoon or two of butter with a small piece of bacon. You will need to watch for hypoglycemia if you go this route. I went hypo a few times and I hadn’t felt it before so i didn’t know what was happening. But I think it’s worth a try. You have to be in ketosis if you’re doing carnivore and if you’re blood sugars too high, you are not in ketosis.

The question is have you gotten what you wanted out of the carnivore diet? You lost weight. Are you where you wanna be? There is no diet in this world that’s gonna make you live forever. Although some people claim that being a vegan or being carnivore, you’re gonna live longer Mr. Roger was a vegetarian lived to his 80s and died stomach cancer I think carnivore and vegan diets are great for a time if they help you get to a certain goal I think the real problem in the US right now because I have lived other places in the world is that our food has been altered so much that it doesn’t even resemble what it used to be I lived in South Africa. I got up every morning and had sausage eggs bacon a half loaf of fresh baked bread that if you didn’t eat it within a few hours you could throw it through a car window. And I had grits every morning their version of it. Their desserts were very little at night very little sugar, but they didn’t have preservatives in their food. Everything was fresh. I could not keep on weight. Every day I ate until I could not move mostly meat but I did have a lot of carbohydrates the guy out there always called vegetables. What cleans you out . unless you’re in the city you never saw anybody that was overweight I would suggest increasing your carbohydrates and see how it goes. You probably already got what you wanted out of your diet. Just maintain it.

Several months ago I started doing much less protein, prob 60-80 grams a day and then 200-300 grams of fat a day. Blood sugar has dropped into a normal range (75-85) , before was always over 100 and my ketones are usually between 2 and 3 mmol now.
It took a while to get used to eating all that fat, but now it’s hard not too, and I still think I’m getting enough protein and it’s not spiking my blood sugar. Anyways, just what I’ve been messing around with, not sure if it will help you, but I wish you the best!

Ya same to equate eating carbs with lowering your cholesterol? Where does that correlation. Come to mind for you? It’s the extra amounts of fat intake to your diet. Not a lack of carbs. 16:35

Going to the doctors is absolutely pointless.
Carnivore is the last step dead end way of eating. Nothing else is as good, there's no where else to go. If you're eating as healthily as you possibly can, then it's pointless going to the doctor to get measured and poked at so they can give you stupid numbers on a test, especially if there's nothing wrong with you.
What are you gonna do? Start eating other stuff that's bad for you like rice and sweet potatoes?
Just live life and forget about the numbers because according to their numbers you have two options - start eating crap again or take pills. If you won't do either, going to a doctor is pointless.
