This song was actually written by Ozzy and Lemmy from Motorhead for the Hellraiser movie. Ozzy and Motorhead did their own versions, and Ozzy just last year released a 30th anniversary version that cuts their two versions together after Lemmy's death. All three are great recordings.
Actually Lemmy wrote Mama I'm coming home too !
@@toddflaherty5428And Desire.
Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth There's music video out there with Lemmy and Pinhead sitting down together.
Also, Bruce Dickinson - reissue executive producer for the album back in 2002. lol
Joe Lynn Turner also recorded a version about 10 years ago or so (I think that was before he became a Putin stooge)
An Ozz-a-thon would be fantastic, especially if you dive into the first four solo albums.
Do the decade : 1981-1991 =
Blizzard Of Ozz + Diary of A Madman (Randy Rhoades era)
Bark At The Moon + The Ultimate Sin (Jake E Lee era)
No Rest For The Wicked + No More Tears (Zakk Wylde)
Absolute perfection.
Ozzmosis (1995) almost makes the cut for some killer tracks, but it's not a start-to-finish banger like the first six albums.
100% agreed
That was Ozzy’s last “ok” solo album.
@@BlackieNuff its funny how we all love ozzy, and i could be totally wrong but ozzmosis is my favorite of all. But i absolutely love Live at Budokan.
Diary is peak Ozzy.
The tone on No More Tears is the best Zakk has ever had for Ozzy. It fits Ozzy's voice perfectly.
ya it is an incredible tone. les pauls with emgs, and marshall stacks ....Out of all of zakk's work with music and guitar my favorite is both albums no rest for the wicked and no more tears. the song writing the tone the production quality the solos, everything is outstanding in my opinion for both of those records
@@Curdledmayonnaise I prefer No Rest, but Tears is great too. A bit heavy on the chorus sometimes, but great work from Zakk.
absolutely...tone is half the battle, and Zakk always sounds amazing. Particularly this album
Agreed and add No Rest For The Wicked as well, amazing tones coming from Zakk on both albums.
I think this album was the overall high point of Zakk's playing. It has been downhill in a drenching downpour of pinch harmonics since then.
It's awesome to see Zakk get the love he deserves. Man is a badass.
I love watching people hear him and discovering how bad ass he is for the first time. ✠SDMF✠
The dude is overrated AF. I'm not saying he sucks, but he gets praise all the time. His best work is Pride and Glory which gets ignored. BLS is just the same generic album rehashed over and over.
@@butchvito respect your opinion on the quality of his music but as a player he certainly is not overrated
@@butchvito who cares about BLS, Zakk cemented his legacy with his first 2 Ozzy albums.
@@butchvitonot overrated at all. Your not intelligent enough about the guitar to have any say at all
Ozzy's Mr. Tinkertrain off the same album has sick riffs/chords. Awesome guys!!!!!
One of my absolute favorite Ozzy songs, or...just songs - period - but alas, I think cancel culture got that one. 😑
\m/
Song to song this is Ozzy's best album. Every single song is amazing, even the b-sides that were cut are bangers.
always be Blizzard of Oz at the top for me, feel your words fit the solo debut with he and Rhoads hungry to raise the bar on Sabbath & EVH. Choosing a fave between your kids almost tho.
@@roychavez2167 Yeah, Blizzard is the choice for me too, but the first 6 solo albums are all great IMO. Two each from each guitarist...Randy, Jake and Zakk. Somewhat diminishing returns after Tears.
While I agree that Bliz, Diary and Tears are his 3 best albums No Rest for the Wicked is CRIMINALLY underated. Its easily his 4th best.
That song was written by both Ozzy and Lemmy from Motorhead for the Hellraiser movie, they put out an anniversary version a yearish ago where they both sing it. Motorhead also have their own version.
And it kicks serious ASS🤘
The animated video is sweet as well- a definite must-watch.
@@MrEric622 have it saved 👍
The video for the Motorhead version has Lemmy playing cards with Pinhead.
Ozzy has quite a few amazing albums, masterpieces, but No More Tears is just absolute perfection from start to finish. Moments wasted: zero
S.I.N.: One of many criminally overlooked Ozzy songs that is an absolute GEM.
@@joenobody5631 also AVH and Zombie Stomp, very underrated... Also Tinkertrain
@@joenobody5631 and Desire 😂😂😂 literally every track
This - plus No Rest for the Wicked
Ozzy's stuff will stand the test of time forever because it is genuine and honest.
Mike Inez joined after this was recorded. The bassist that wrote and played on this album was Bob Daisley. He was also on the first three Ozzy albums.
Mike did come up with the No More Tears bass intro though.
Yeah and then went to Alice In Chains
No, Mike Inez was already in the band before recording but the Ozzy camp didn’t like what he was doing in the studio so they brought in Bob Daisley again.
That whole album is sweet.. Front to back, very hard to do..
One of OZZYs best....my opinion
@@lukasgarage956 And one of Zakk's best riffs ever.
Black Label Society Songs: “Suicide Messiah”, “Rust”, “Bridge to Cross”, Stillborn”, and “Fire it up”. Those are all bangers where Zakk goes off on guitar
Bleed For Me as well. Does the dude even have a bad song? LoL🤣.
6:52 When Zakk starts chugging on that riff in the second verse is my favorite moment of the song. Perfect!
The one thing all of Ozzy's guitar players have in common? They are riff masters! Tony, Randy, Jake E, Zack etc are all riff writing beasts
I guess Watt counts too, sure
Every time I see y'all discover and enjoy a banger, I can't help but smile along with y'all 🤟
Ozzy has almost always had very good guitarists to play for his band. He has an ear for talent.
The world desperately needs an Ozz-A-Thon. You could make it a month long and I'd never get tired of it.
Ozzy's band at this time was incredible. Zakk Wylde, Mike Inez and Randy Castillo (R.I.P) are underrated as a unit IMO.
Especially Randy Castillo. He was an amazing drummer.
beast of a band at the time
Bob Daisley on the record though. Not Mike.
Ozzy has a knack for finding guitarists/ songwriters who have personalities. A swagger of sorts
This album really brought ozzy back to the masses, and wow the songs on here from start to finish were amazing...Lemmy helping with the writing and zack on guitar for this tune...how could you ask for anything better???
The syncopated accents are what make the guitar part awesome on this.
Bro Ozzy has had A LOT of nasty guitar players.... Guitar players that epitomize sounding impressive and pleasant to the ear. The pinnacle truly. Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, Jake E. Lee.
His voice is just amazing. No other like this
I love how they add that swing boogie to the metal during these times.
Breaking All The Rules of the No Rest For The Wicked! Zakk plus Geezer Butler on Bass!
There are so many good ozzy tracks with Zakk! Some of my favs are Perry Mason, No more tears, and Road to nowhere. Some Black Label songs to check out are Stillborn, Suicide Messiah, and the live version of In this river!
That trippy breakdown is the sound of madness.
I’ve always loved Ozzy’s voice and artistry- even went to 10 Ozzfests in a row- Zakk is a great collaborator
you NEED to listen to the 30th anniversary edition of this! its animated and has BOTH Ozzy AND Lemmy singing and playing on it!
Excellent choice, guys!
This album is just great from start to finish.
And yes, please!
Do an Ozz-a-thon!
As for the BLS requests:
Bleed for me, Stoned and Drunk, Funeral Bell and Been a long time.
Keep'em comming! 🤘🏽
Ozzy wrote this with Lemmy from Motörhead. Both bands released a version. They combined it just recently for the anniversary which is now preferred version.
It is an amazing video too
Lemmy wrote it with Zakk.. Ozzy as usual takes credit as the "front man"
I gotta say - despite how great the chorus is, Ozzy's voice is what really pulls this together. This version of the song is just perfect. Ozzy may not be the greatest vocalist of all time technically speaking, but his voice is just so unique, it hits like nothing else.
Such a jam!!! One of my fav Ozzy cuts!!! Love that hook!!! And one of the nastiest solo's‼‼❣🎸🎸💥💥🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Regarding the technicalities part of your analysis, Zakk is a very accomplished guitarist but he knows how to rock and roll, which is something too many have forgotten.
Classics never die. Pass it on to the next generation! 🙌🏻
Ozzathon? Yes. Especially if you haven’t covered sabbath lately. Ozzy era sabbath is so good, IMO. The fact he was able to continue and arguably exceed sabbath is impressive.
Sometimes I go for a while without listening to this album, then I’ll hear a song and remember it’s full of bangers from front to back. Thanks guys!
Ozzy…man he is just great and always has been. Named my son after him. He destroys absolutely everything. He is no fool either. He gets the best to play with him. Zakk Wylde is phenomenal and cannot be stopped! Randy Rhodes was greatness. He knows what he’s doing and does it right! So good!
So glad you guys stumbled on Zakk. Dude is the hardest working dude in rock music and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. As a hardcore ✠BLS✠ follower, he’s got a HUGE catalog of music to choose from. Here are a few suggestions…
“Bleed For Me”
“Suicide Messiah”
“In My Dying Time”
But you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for visceral, hardcore, metal guitar playing (imagine taking Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen and Tommy Iommi and rolling them together). You won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing a future review. ✟God Bless✟
Unless you're a limp bizkit fan 😂
@@PeterGriffinsWaiter Yeah. That whole Fred Durst hate back in the day was just an act. Zakk used Limp Bizkit to promote his band and get the crowd poppin'.
Thanks guys! Ozzothon sounds like a good idea! Lots of awesome stuff in Ozzy's solo career!
Ozz-a-thon should definitely be in the works. A great guitarist can make you feel a certain, technical or not. That's one reason David Gilmore (Pink Floyd) and Jimi Hendrix to name just two, are so well loved. This song kicks ass on every level. \m/
Oh YEAH, we really need a Ozzthon, he got so many classics that you would have as much fun as you did back in the day when you did the Sabbath one
Y’all keep doing what you do, love from Nigeria. ❤
To me, this song is what you would get if you combined Ratt's "Way Cool jr." with Black Sabbath's "Headless Cross." Also, Zakk Wylde's first band that gets forgotten was called Pride & Glory, and their album is pretty good. I think it has since been rebranded as Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory, or even Black Label Society, I don't remember. But songs like Losin' Your Mind, Horse Called War, Shine On, The Chosen One, and my favorite, Troubled Wine... just one beast after another.
Love me some Pride and Glory!
My favorite was Hate Your Guys 😂 but great album
Zakk is at his absolute peak here - in both his playing and his 'sound'. Whatever rig he was using back then was other-worldly! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You could do Ozzy every day for years and I’d be thrilled 😆
This album was really great. Very catchy songs with great hooks. It was much more accessible to the mainstream as well. Definitely a different crowd than the Diary crowd were now listening to Ozzy after this.
You could say that based off Mama I'm Coming Home alone but yeah, getting sober worked wonders for him too
@@TrippedGian1 True
Zakk Wylde is the reason I picked up a guitar. No More Tears was the album that really did it for me. I wore that CD out.
You guys have learned so much about music in the time that I've watched you guys. You speak the language and understand music just as any musician does at this point. Kudos to you guys.
Ozzathon! Hell Yes. My list of defining songs. Rock and Roll Rebel, I don't wanna stop, Diary of a madman, It gets me through, Bloodbath in paradise, Mr Tinkertrain, Tomorrow, Perry Mason. There's at least 100 more, but that's a start.
Love your channel guys! It's something special and your genuine reactions are awesome!
Your reviews take me back to when I discovered these songs and artists, outstanding work gentleman 😊
Damn right, Ryan! The speed of contemporary 'technical metal' forgets that the space between beats is what gives metal it's power me. It gives it a weight that says "made for stadiums"
Lemmy from Motorhead helped write this song. Motorhead does a version of it too. I like it even more.
They should do Perry Mason. It's criminally underrated
Zakk Wyldes band Pride and Glory needs some love. Losin Your Mind, Horse Called War, Shine On, Troubled Wine, Toe n the Line, Machine Gun Man, such a great overlooked album.
been listening to this album ALOT recently and its brought me BACK to your channel, glad you guys are still rockin
you're right - Ozzy always had amazing taste in putting together bands and finding and discovering guitarists that would go on to be legends in their own right.
Black Label Society - Stillborn, probably the most obvious place to start. The acoustic version from their album 'Skullage' along with Spoke in the Wheel from the same album is greatness!
Whole album is amazing! If you liked this one, give "Zombie Stomp" or "Desire" a chance.
Desire, another Lemmy co-written song. 4 on this album...
Agreed 100%
It's all about the groove! Good metal has a groove that I guess you guys gets you back to music you guys like. Very 80's as it was 80's.
this album is one of the few total and complete albums in existence not one single song is trash. All masterpieces! Love Oz and No More Tears! My favorite album!
First of all, I would love an Ozzy marathon from you two. Secondly, I would recommend "Bleed for Me" or "Counterfeit God" as Black Label Society songs to react to.
Still waiting for Ozzy marathon. It’ll be awesome. Hit up each era right up until his last two recent albums. Killer cuts all along the way. You can do it! (Sounds like Rob Schneider)
Stillborn is a good one, or In This River.....that one is in memory of ANY homeboy you had love for but lost them throughout life. R.I.P. Dime 🤘😔
see you banging your heads in synchro and smiling just makes me happy after an hard work day.
I remember hearing Zaks intro for the first time on the No Rest for the Wicked album. Knew then this was what Ozzy was looking for after Randy Rhodes death. Had NO idea Zak would turn out to be such an influence on the next 35 years of metal music.
Sadly Randy Castillo passed away, and I have to say gentlemen you sure missed one hell of a drum solo on this tour, I saw Ozzy 4 times on this tour ...Little Rock, Memphis, Dallas, and Houston or Lubbock can't remember that far back...but Randy was one of the most kick ass drummers of that time.
Black Label requests for you guys: War of Heaven, Suicide Messiah, New Religion, Set you Free and on and on ... all fire!
Perry MASON should be next.
This is probably Ozzy's best produced album. The sound is absolutely amazing.
This is one of two or three songs on this album Lemmy from Motorhead wrote, Ozzy is dyslexic and doesn't write lyrics despite what Sharon's songwriting credits say. They did a version of this song a couple years back that mashed up the Ozzy and Motorhead versions that's worth checking out.
exactly! Ozzy has been carried by his showmanship which none can deny, but he's barely literate. Without the musicians who've played for him over the years and Sharon to keep him from dying drunk in a ditch he'd have be done and gone post Sabbath.
He can write songs lol
Look at fairies wear boots
Every single song on this album is fire
If you guys did an ozz-a-thon I would watch every one of them!
Greetings Flynamic Duo! Zakk Wylde had a band called Pride & Glory that was fire. A couple of their tunes you fellas might enjoy are Toe'n The Line and Troubled Wine. Rock on 🤘🎵🤘
Ozzy has always linked himself to every great new guitarist that comes up 😀
Would be interesting to hear you guys do a reaction to the Motorhead version and the anniversary duet version as well to compare!
No more tears is a MUST
A ozzy thon would be a thumbs up from me. As a producer of great music for generations he deserves a Ozzy thon. Alot of us cant beleive hes still alive from all the mishaps hes been through. Plus the talent he has brought brought up to the for front.
Ozzy an Zack just kicking it back an rock'in out.
Bring in the Ozzython!! I've been suggesting A National Acrobat by Sabbath for a long time, you guys would love it I think.
OZZY KICKS AZZ! ❤️♾️
Kind of Ozzys comeback album in a way. This album is fire front to back. One of the few i can listen to start to finish without a skip
Ozzy has 50 years of music for you guys to choose from for your marathon show.
Ozzy the GODFATHER of rock and roll.
hands down one of the top 5 of ozzy songs in my playlist
Ozzy marathon? YES, PLEASE!!!!
Back on Earth
Waiting For Darkness
Believer
Diary of a Madman
Miracle Man
Perry Mason
+1 for the Ozz-a-thon idea. Also, I love Ozzy and I love Technical Death Metal. I’m sure a lot of people do. It’s very different music but, to me, it’s all great.
an ozzython sounds great nib, warpigs, changes, and mr. crowley, goodbye to romance and no more tears. i look forward to it. thanks guys for being open minded about music.
R.I.P to the late great Randy C. Excellent Drummer for Ozzy for years.
All I need to say ozzy is the prince of darkness king of rock and love him 🤘🏼
I used to play pool to this one. Just the groove did it.
I think what you're getting at with the tech guys and guys like Zakk is the feel, everyone can learn to play a scale fast, but not many can put the swing and feel into a single note. Takes us a long time to figure this out, even Zakk himself has forgotten this with years, but he's earned his keep and still slaying.
This was an incredible album for sure and Zakk Wylde was on fire! Incredible! \m/
I clicked so fast I love Ozzy !!!!
I’m a drummer and hearing or even watching zakk him play guitar, makes ME wanna learn and play like him. I LOVE his guitar tones man.
Stillborn was the first BLS song i heard. He does covers Bill Wither's "Ain't no Sunshine" which is good 👍
Ozzy Osbourne marathon is definitely a must!!!
I saw Motorhead open for Ozzy on the No More Tears tour and Motorhead played their version live.
What I like is that you notice and hit what I notice and hit, the expected power chord, whatever. Good job.
Thanks for sticking to music!
These guys just have fun and can appreciate music of all kinds. They're two dudes I'd like to drink beer with, shoot the shit and listen to good music (if I still drank).
