  • In Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, two Ukrainian army brigades defending the city’s southern flank gave the BBC access to their positions as fierce fighting continued in and around the city.
The men have spent months facing regular Russian army forces, and prisoners recruited by the Wagner private military group, who have swarmed their trenches in droves.
The troops said Russian casualties far outweigh theirs, but that their enemy is using new techniques to try to seize the city and surrounding countryside.

    2:48:- Maxim Machine Gun
“This is a 21st Century War being fought with 19th century weaponry”,
The Maxim gun is a recoil-operated machine gun invented in 1884 by Hiram Stevens Maxim.
It was the first fully automatic machine gun in the world.
The Maxim gun has been called "the weapon most associated with imperial conquest" by historian Martin Gilbert, and was heavily used by colonial powers during the "Scramble for Africa".
Afterwards, Maxim guns also saw extensive usage by different armies during the Russo-Japanese War, the First and Second World Wars, as well as by insurgent groups in contemporary conflicts.
The Maxim gun was greatly influential in the development of machine guns, and it has multiple variants and derivatives.

Both Of these Guns are an amazing piece of Military Engineering for war time conflicts from WWI & WWII, they both also had their own advantages, when fighting Wars, depending upon how & where they needed to be used,
Never the less, it’s still amazing to see how a Ukrainian old Maxim Gun from the 19th century, WWI & WWII era, is being used in the Battle of Bakhmut, against the Russian Military,
Which was what it was used for, during these conflicts of Civil Wars & the 2 World Was ,
      The Rosso-Japanese War,
      Balkan Wars
      WWI,
      The Russian Civil War,
      Finnish Civil War,
      Estonian War of Independence,
      Polish-Soviet War,
      WWII,
      War in Donbas,
      And now,
The 2022, Russian Invasion of Ukraine,
So many countries that have fought and won their freedom & Independence as a Sovereign country against the Russian’s
      The Gatling Gun:-
The Gatling gun's operation centered on a cyclic multi-barrel design which facilitated cooling and synchronized the firing-reloading sequence.
As the handwheel is cranked, the barrels rotate and each barrel sequentially loads a single cartridge from a top-mounted magazine, fires off the shot when it reaches a set position (usually at 4 o'clock), then ejects the spent casing out of the left side at the bottom, after which the barrel is empty and allowed to cool until rotated back to the top position and gravity-fed another new round.
This configuration eliminated the need for a single reciprocating bolt design and allowed higher rates of fire to be achieved without the barrels overheating quickly.
One of the best-known early rapid-fire firearms, the Gatling gun saw occasional use by the Union forces during the American Civil War, which was the first time it was employed in combat.
It was later used in numerous military conflicts, including the Boshin War, the Anglo-Zulu War and the assault on San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War.
It was also used by the Pennsylvania militia in episodes of the Great Railroad Strike of 1877, specifically in Pittsburgh.
Gatling guns were even mounted aboard ships.
      Maxim Gun:-
The Maxim gun featured one of the earliest recoil-operated firing systems in history.
Energy from recoil acting on the breech block is used to eject each spent cartridge and insert the next one.
Maxim's earliest designs used a 360-degree rotating cam to reverse the movement of the block, but this was later simplified to a toggle lock.
This made it vastly more efficient and less labor-intensive than previous rapid-firing guns, such as the manually cranked Mitrailleuse, Gatling, Gardner, or Nordenfelt.
The Maxim gun was water cooled, allowing it to sustain its rate of fire far longer than air-cooled guns.
The extra weight and complexity this added, however, made it heavier and less flexible in use.
Trials demonstrated that the Maxim could fire 600 rounds per minute.
Compared to modern machine guns, the Maxim was heavy, bulky, and awkward.
A lone soldier could fire the weapon, but it was usually operated by a team of men, usually 4 to 6. Apart from the gunner, other crew were needed to speed reload, spot targets, and carry and ready ammunition and water.
Several men were needed to move or mount the heavy weapon.

Once this war ends Ukraine will be a failed state. The Cold War is over and America doesn’t need to prove capitalism is better, they won’t implement a Marshall Plan such as post WW2 Europe. Instead they’ll give Ukraine only a bare minimum stripped down version, especially as it seems Republicans will take office next. Ukraine will recover a tiny bit, but with demographic collapse from low birth rates, war (killing of youth) and refugees (longer war goes on, less will come back), Ukraine is finished. By 2050, I’m sure it’ll be a small country with maybe 20-something million people, an ageing population and basically a large version of Moldova or something? Ukraines only hope for prosperity is if it joins Russia and Belarus to create a greater Slavic Union, reminiscent of Kievan Rus of old. Combined, they would have almost 200 million population, and would be the largest country in the world. They will be stronger economically and can use that to rebuild, to implement pro-child policies to raise the birth rate, and otherwise advance the federation. Better Ukraine be part of a strong and proud Greater Russia than a diminished and sorry puppet of the West.
